Chapter 22 - Do you think I am a native of my country?

"It's only been three days?"

The time flow difference between the two Universes was quite significant.

"I stayed in that Universe for over half a year, but only three days passed here."

Ron thought for a moment. He had been there for over half a year, yet only three days had passed here. This wouldn't do.

If he stayed here for ten days or half a month, several years would pass there, and he could easily miss some things.

"I need to use the system's ability to adjust the time difference."

Although the system could not completely control the time of a Universe, it could record spatiotemporal coordinates, allowing that coordinate to flow at its own speed over time.

This achieved the effect of controlling the time difference.

It would consume some ability points, but not many.

Ability Points: 32,000

Compared to the ability points he possessed, it wouldn't even consume a fraction.

After adjusting the appropriate time flow, Ron began to ponder matters of the Black Robe Universe.

"Compound V is a good thing.

Even the usually chaotic and rule-breaking DC and Marvel Universes don't have something that can mass-transform ordinary people into superhumans."

He murmured twice, looking outside.

It seemed that although he had disappeared, it hadn't affected his younger brother, Ryan.

He wondered if his mother, Becca, had told a "gentle" lie, perhaps saying that his brother had gone traveling or working out of town?

Or perhaps his younger brother, Ryan, simply didn't care about his disappearance.

After all, their relationship wasn't particularly close.

This family hadn't given him any warmth. Becca looked at him like a freak, secretly teaching Ryan not to be like him, and he had no interest in playing with a child all day long.

"There's nothing worth lingering for."

Looking up at the sky, with a slight 'bang' sound, Ron appeared above the azure sky, indifferently looking down at the prison-like neighborhood below.

In the distance, tall gray walls formed a circle, enclosing an area of several miles.

This was the place that had trapped him for eight years; now, it could no longer hold him.

If he wanted, he could even easily destroy it.

But there was no need.

"Since Becca likes to live in this safe greenhouse with her precious little son, let them be."

He sneered.

Ryan, as Homelander's son, inherited Homelander's physique, but he was almost raised useless. When Homelander was the same age, his abilities had already manifested, allowing him to easily fly at several times the speed of sound.

Yet, he was still playing with sandcastles and toy cars in the yard, more innocent than children his age, showing no extraordinary abilities whatsoever.

However, Becca believed this was better for Ryan.

"Vought Corporation."

His figure flickered again, Ron murmured, teleporting several miles away, then his entire body was enveloped in crimson energy flames, instantly breaking the sound barrier.

Bang!

A conical sonic boom cloud exploded behind him, the sound spreading like thunder, and he continuously accelerated, flying at a speed far exceeding the speed of sound, like a crimson meteor streaking across the sky, heading towards the distant horizon.

"How is it? Have you found him?"

On the top floor of the Vought Corporation headquarters building, Vice President Madeline, having just concluded the press conference for The Seven's replacement, hurried back to her office with a decisive stride, unbuttoned her tight cuffs, picked up the phone, and anxiously urged and inquired.

"No, Madam.

We've searched everywhere; we can confirm one thing: he shouldn't be in that place anymore."

On the other end of the phone, there was a moment of silence, then a helpless voice cautiously spoke. They had searched that place thoroughly but found nothing.

The Seven, Vought Corporation's flagship superhero team, had one of its members, Lamplighter, recently retire. After a company discussion, a replacement superhuman was selected, and a press conference was scheduled for that evening to introduce the new hero joining The Seven. This was supposed to be the company's top priority, but Madeline, as the Vice President attending the conference, couldn't help but leave after a few hasty remarks.

Because there was something a hundred times more important.

"Go find him, search outside. I'll send people to help you. You absolutely must bring him back.

If anyone finds out about him, you and your team can expect to be fired!"

Madeline shouted into the phone. Besides her frustration, she also felt fear.

That mother and her two sons had always been the company's and her hidden trump card to prevent Homelander from losing control. Although she had precisely grasped Homelander's abnormal psychology of lacking love and having a mother complex, keeping him under her control,

this wasn't very reliable. It was like a lion tamer who seemed to make a ferocious lion obediently follow commands, roll over, and jump through hoops, but in reality, the tamer's worry and fear of the lion would never cease.

"I'm walking on the edge of danger every day. One card isn't enough to guarantee control; I absolutely need another!"

She thought anxiously, hoping to restrain herself and protect herself when the lion lost control.

"Madam, can I be of any service?"

Suddenly, a slightly magnetic, playful male voice came from behind her.

Madeline, holding the phone, turned to see someone sitting on the sofa in the office's waiting area, covered the phone's receiver, and instinctively reprimanded.

"Who are you? Who let you in?"

Lounging casually on the sofa, Ron looked at her with a playful gaze, then sneered without speaking.

"Wait a minute."

She quickly glanced at the photo in the data on the nearby computer; the handsome young man with deep black eyes was identical.

"No need to search anymore, he's with me."

Madeline stared at Ron, her face grim, and replied to the person on the phone. Then she calmly and decisively hung up.

"It seems you don't value us much either."

He looked up indifferently, surprised that Madeline hadn't recognized him immediately.

Did she think he and Becca were just important tools?

That they just needed to be found in a 'secret warehouse' when needed, and nothing else mattered?

"You are indeed as they said.

Not at all like an eight-year-old child."

Madeline walked over, showing no fear of Ron, who had suddenly appeared in the room. She was calm and poised, truly embodying the demeanor of a strong woman.

After all, she was the woman who could control Homelander, the strongest superhero in the World.

"When your mother treats you like a freak from a young age, you also mature twice as fast."

"Is that so?"

Madeline approached him, sat down casually on the side of the sofa, and smiled gently, her eyes soft, revealing a hint of maternal warmth.

"So, you couldn't stand that place and ran away from home, did you?"

"I'm very curious, can you tell me how you did it?"

Naturally closing the distance, like a kind female elder, she gently reached out to touch his chest.

"Are you treating me like Homelander?"

Ron pushed her hand away, frowning, and a dazzling crimson light appeared in his eyes.

This kind of tactic, did she think he was Homelander, who lacked love?

That 'giant baby Superman' who could be tamed with a comforting, motherly hug and a little maternal milk drink?
