Unlike Starlight's last seat, Ron sat at the head of the right side of the V-shaped conference table.
That was originally Invisible Man's seat.
But now, Invisible Man should be in the hospital listening to a Doctor recommend which type of nose is more suitable for his face.
"Appearance can affect a person's entire life. This is a heaven-sent opportunity to change his fate. I hope he seizes it firmly."
Ron leaned back in his chair, supporting his head as he looked at the scenery outside, sighing softly in his heart.
His posture was casual, showing no respect for Homelander, the Captain beside him. He wore a battle suit primarily in black and silver-gray.
Beneath the form-fitting battle suit, seemingly made of carbon fiber, his full, solid chest muscles, well-defined abs, and other nearly perfect body parts were like forged steel, leaving no doubt that every muscle contained explosive power.
Unlike the other members' gaudy, colorful battle suits that resembled performance costumes, his suit was serious and dignified, more reminiscent of a Superman's image.
Starlight was slightly stunned. Today's Ron felt completely different from yesterday's Ron in a suit, possessing more masculine charm. Although she had seen some of Ron's muscles yesterday, it ultimately lacked the full impact.
Ron's battle suit was self-designed, very similar to the black suit Superman wore after his resurrection, but simpler without a cape. His flight method was special, and a cape was temporarily a hindrance.
On his chest was not an S representing hope, but more like a pitch-black black hole with a star ring.
"Do you need me to introduce you?
Starlight, this is your teammate who joined The Seven with you… Oh, what was your name again?"
Homelander seemed to be making a kind introduction, but halfway through, he turned and asked.
His smile appeared brilliant, yet held a hint of insincerity.
He strongly disliked this teammate who had been parachuted into The Seven without official induction, yet managed to get rid of The Deep and put Invisible Man in the hospital.
The Seven had always been his territory, and he felt his authority as Captain was being challenged.
Silence!
The atmosphere in the conference room solidified, becoming quiet in an instant.
Queen Maeve remained silent, and A-Train was trembling, as it was clear Homelander was in a bad mood.
No one wanted to provoke Homelander when he was in a bad mood, if they wanted to sit here safely tomorrow.
"Ron."
Ron turned his head back from the outside scenery, completely ignoring Homelander, and looked at Starlight, saying casually.
"You can also call me by my codename 'Dark Star' or 'Death Star'."
It's inevitable for a superhero to have a codename. He just picked one casually, not planning to be a serious superhero anyway, and it was only for use in this Universe.
Left hanging, Homelander's smile gradually froze.
No one had ever disrespected him like this before, never!
"Thank you, thank you for only telling a girl you abandoned your name today."
Regarding yesterday's encounter, being treated like that without even knowing his name, Starlight's heart filled with anger, wanting to blurt it out.
But seeing Homelander's expression, she opened her mouth but still didn't say it. She let out a breath and gave Ron a look, signaling him to look to the side.
Because the most powerful superhero on Earth was looking at him, his eyes so cold they could almost freeze steel.
But unfortunately, Ron seemed not to notice, or ignored her warning.
"Dark Star, also a star of Death's omen, the star designated 80 in Ursa Major, a star representing Death in astrology?
This is not a good omen."
Although angry inside, a smile reappeared on Homelander's face. As he spoke, he walked behind Ron, placing his hands on Ron's shoulders, like a well-intentioned warning.
"How about changing it?"
With his hands on the shoulders, he could twist a person's neck with just a slight turn.
Maeve became even more nervous, fearing the unpredictable Homelander would suddenly act, sending the new member to the hospital or even the grave on his very first day.
Black Noir, usually silent and indifferent to others, stopped his random drawing. A-Train didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
"The ominous omen is not for me, but for my enemies."
Ron was impolite, refusing without the slightest fluctuation in his voice.
"Is that so?
Madeline actually agreed to that name."
Homelander secretly prepared to exert force, to discipline this new team member, starting by making him change this name.
To make him realize that in this team, he should respect him like God.
"Why wouldn't she agree?
I don't see her objecting."
As soon as his words fell, Maeve and the others' expressions became strange.
Why wouldn't she agree? Superheroes are almost equivalent to products launched by Vought Corporation. The product's name cannot be decided by the product itself; the chosen name must help attract fans and sell merchandise.
Even their 'life experiences' are carefully designed promotional materials.
How did Ron's codename pass?
Parachuted into The Seven, acting as he pleased, and the company didn't stop him. How did he manage such special treatment?
"Alright, enough small talk, let the meeting begin."
Temporarily abandoning his plan to establish dominance through action, Homelander pondered for a few seconds, then returned to his seat with a gloomy expression.
This had never happened before. Among the more than two hundred superheroes in the company, his position had always been the most transcendent.
If the Vice President wasn't his beloved Madeline, no one's status was higher than his except the President. He could do whatever he wanted.
But now it seemed there was another person who could do the same.
He had thought the new member simply didn't understand the rules, but now it seemed he didn't need to understand them at all.
"Like me, if it doesn't involve fundamental interests, the company's rules will automatically make way for him."
But he was the most powerful superhero on Earth. What right did this Ron have?
Homelander secretly glanced at Ron beside him.
During the meeting, Ron didn't listen to the so-called content at all.
Everyone took turns reporting this week's crime-fighting achievements, all pre-arranged by Vought Corporation, a pure waste of time.
It was just small talk, not immediately revealing their true selves to avoid scaring the new members.
He looked at the panel in front of him.
Ability Points: 56,000
Recorded Templates: [Homelander] Price: 340,000.
With just a physical touch, the system had recorded Homelander's template.
"Fourty thousand less than Ryan."
By purchasing a template, he could directly reach the level of the template's developed abilities.
Ryan's template was 300,000 points; the high Ability Points were due to the potential of the child Homelander's physique, which needed time to grow and develop.
"Purchasing the Homelander template can achieve it in one step."
Saving twenty to thirty years of time.
But currently, his Ability Points were far from enough to purchase the Homelander template.
"Squeezing out The Deep, injuring Invisible Man, and having a 'small friction' with Starlight only added more than 20,000 Ability Points."
Ron shook his head secretly.
The three were not strong, and the change in their fate was not significant. The reason for adding so much was due to them being important plot characters.
He looked at Queen Maeve sitting opposite him.
"Queen Maeve, one of the few powerful heroes second only to Homelander."
"If I can make her fate unrecognizable, it should be worth over a hundred thousand points."
Queen Maeve is a very important character in the Black Robe Universe, and her abilities are comprehensively strong, comparable to Justice League's Wonder Woman. Although she doesn't have a set of divine artifacts, she is no less in other aspects.
Standing still, a speeding truck crashed into her and shattered without moving her in the slightest, showing astonishing strength.
And she was completely unharmed; her defense was far stronger than Wonder Woman's, who still needed her bracelets to block bullets.
"And A-Train…"
After the meeting, he turned his gaze to A-Train again.
"He should also be worth tens of thousands of points."
Among The Seven, besides Homelander and Queen Maeve, he was the strongest.
The fastest superhero on Earth, comparable to Flash, although his speed was not even a fraction of Flash's.
But the main reason was that Speed Force was too overpowered.
Not long after the meeting ended.
Someone from the company approached Ron, carefully asking if he would be willing to participate in a crime-fighting operation tomorrow night, teamed with Queen Maeve.
The other team was Starlight and Black Noir, a veteran-leading-newcomer, joint operation, a promotional event for the two new members.
Crime-fighting, in Vought Corporation's view, was an activity that could be filmed throughout and used for popularity promotion.
"Queen Maeve?
Alright."
