Synopsis
Oliver was just a lowly fisherman NPC—or at least, that’s what everyone thought. Living quietly at the edge of Pondsville with his cat and broken rod, he spent his days fishing up garbage and the occasional soggy boot. But when a freak glitch fuses his peaceful fishing mini-game with the world’s core combat system, every fish he catches boosts his stats… permanently. Now, his strength is through the roof. His mana pool is deeper than the ocean. His charisma? Off the charts—thanks to a charming koi spirit he accidentally reeled in during a full moon. Armed with an overpowered fishing rod, a sharp tongue, and zero interest in heroism, Oliver gets yanked into the world’s deadliest dungeons, political messes, and monster raids… all while just trying to catch the legendary Golden Tuna of God. And somehow? He keeps winning.

Chapter 1 - A Tutorial? I Don’t Need That

Location: Pondsville Outskirts.

Population: 37.

Morale: Low.

Fish? Questionable.

Objective: Catch as many fish as possible… or at least 1.

Bonus Objective: Don't talk to anyone important you are an NPC with no use.

Penalty for Failure: Hunger, ridicule, existential dread, losing your first fish.

The sun rose with all the enthusiasm of a tired candle. In a quiet corner of the kingdom where nothing interesting ever happened, Oliver sat at the edge of a wooden dock, rod in hand, staring at an algae ridden pond with the vacant expression of a man who had long ago accepted that ambition was a scam.

He yawned. Cast. And Waited.

Until he finally…

Caught absolutely nothing.

"Perfect," Oliver muttered. "Another flawless start to my glorious journey to absolutely nowhere… I just want a fish not a damn salad"

Around him, the town buzzed faintly with life. Not real life. Just the background-narration kind of life. NPCs who baked imaginary bread. Kids chasing chickens. Some hero yelling about goblins and destiny over in the plaza.

Oliver stayed where he was. He'd tried adventuring once. Got told his fishing class didn't have a future. One goblin bite and three broken ribs later, he agreed.

[SYSTEM ALERT: You have gained 1 Common Carp.]

+1 HP

"A small, unimpressive size for a fish. Has the emotional depth of a wet sock."

Oliver blinked.

"Huh? What was that?"

He whispered to himself.

"…Was that always a thing?"

HUD POP-UP:

You gained your first fish-based stat boost!

Fisherman Class - Glitched Path Activated

Bonus Passive: "Hooked on Growth" – Catching any aquatic life will now randomly increase a stat. Permanently.

This path is not recommended. Proceed anyway?

[YES] – [NO]

Oliver chooses: [Mutter and Keep Fishing]

Oliver leaned back, shrugged, and cast his line again.

"Probably just some weird update, for fishing" he said. "Maybe they'll finally add the salmon jacket I've been asking for."

As the hook hit the water, something jerked. Violently.

The line bent like it had snagged a boulder. Oliver gripped it with both hands, digging his heels into the dock. The rod shivered like it was holding back a monster, or a tax collector.

Then, with a splash like a cannonball, the water erupted—and something huge launched into the air.

It wasn't a fish.

It was a sword.

It spun through the air, impaled itself into the dirt beside Oliver, and began glowing ominously.

[You caught: "SeaBlade of the Aquatic Lords"]

Rarity: Mythic (??? - Not supposed to be fished)

Effect: Grants +25 STR, +20 AGI, unlocks the passive skill: "Reaper's Drift."

This item is bound to fisherman class only.

"Who authorized this drop table?"

Oliver looked at the sword.

Then at the fish bucket.

Then at the sky.

"Oliver sighs"

"…This is gonna be alright… right? That's not gonna be a problem, right?"
