Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 The Reason for Dispersing the Soul Beast

Chapter 5 The Reason for Dispersing the Soul Beast

The next morning.

The sun shone on the shelter, filtering through layers of branches and leaves. The speckled light with a soft and warm breath shone on Uchiha Uranium's face, waking him up from his sleep.

To his surprise, he had thought that his first night would be spent in tension and anxiety, after all, this was on the outskirts of the dangerous Star Dou Great Forest.

But the fact was that he slept soundly, without the slightest anxiety or fear, as if this place was as safe as home, no different.

A quarter of an hour later.

Uchiha Uranium packed up his luggage, tightened his belt, and prepared to continue his journey today.

Although this place was good, the water source was clean and very close to him, and with such a large lake in the forest, the large amount of groundwater in this area must be mainly concentrated here.

So within a certain range, he would definitely not be able to find a second water source of this scale.

But this place was too open, with a large open space. It would have been perfect for building a house, but he didn't have the skills to live there. Soul beasts gathered near water sources, and he wasn't sure he could handle many of them.

Traps were useful, but soul beasts wouldn't flock to attack in droves. Ultimately, it came down to his lack of skills.

Uchiha Uran leaned on the broken tree and began to survey his surroundings. He wanted to find a patch of rocky terrain, preferably with a cave or other shelter, near a water source, and ideally, some weak herbivorous soul beasts.

This would provide shelter from the wind and rain, providing a place for daily living. If he couldn't find any, he would have to turn back and find a place near the water source to build a shelter. He had already planned to cut some hardwood and build one in the middle of the tree.

Uchiha Uran pondered his future shelter plans, then lifted his hand from the tree. Suddenly, he felt something strange on his palm.

Withered, bloody bark clung to his hand.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Uchiha Uranium clapped his hands hurriedly, brushing off the withered bark in his hands, then turned to look at the tree that looked a little abnormal, his expression gradually becoming solemn.

At this time, he also discovered some abnormalities, such as the leaves on the crown of the tree, which had all changed color. Although some branches and leaves were dull yesterday, they were still green after all. But now, they have turned completely gray.

He picked up a leaf, and before he could exert any force, it cracked and broke.

This tree was the same. It had no vitality at all like yesterday, and it was lingering on like an old man who was about to die. The difference between the day before yesterday and today was so great that it seemed as if time had flown by.

Uchiha Uranium was stunned. He still didn't understand what had happened. How could this tree become like this, and suddenly, die.

After a long time, he sighed.

I understand. I finally know. No wonder I didn't see any soul beasts. It turns out that they are sensitive to perception. As soon as they sense the energy fluctuations of nuclear radiation on me, they ran away. No wonder."

"The soul beasts that can run away have all run away, and the plants can't run away. The nuclear radiation on my body really kills all animals and plants.

Damn it, I thought I could live the rest of my life safely if I ran to the Star Dou Great Forest. I didn't expect that I was also a destroyer of nature. I will die wherever I go."

"Damn it!"

Slowly putting down the package, Uchiha Uranium loosened the burden on his body, took out the machete that had not been cleaned yet and was covered with mud and juice, and began to look for the thicker trees around.

He figured it all out.

He'd build a house right here and not go anywhere else. he radiation he carried clearly helped him repel spirit beasts, largely ensuring his safety.

It was practically impossible for anyone with limited perception to sense the constant radioactivity from him, except for humans.

Other spirit beasts, even without seeing him, would flee as soon as they came within a certain range.

He also recalled his memories of nuclear radiation and realized that it wasn't just plants and animals that could be contaminated. Water sources, too, could be contaminated by it. Even though he hadn't touched the water source, after all that night, the forest lake had already taken on the shape of his Uchiha Uranium.

Even if he left, the radiation would still be there. Any spirit beasts who drank from the lake would be infected, and drinking more would accelerate their death. The radiation would also transfer to any spirit beast that had consumed or drunk from the water, causing mutations in their bodies, essentially putting their lives on hold.

This was terrifying. He was a walking destroyer of nature. So he decided not to leave, staying here. No soul beasts would bother him anyway. He slowly built his own shelter, studied books, and practiced quietly. Once his soul power reached level 20, he'd find a way to kill the soul beast.

He was already in this state, so he could just find any soul beast. He wasn't vying for supremacy or becoming the continent's strongest.

Then, Uchiha Uran suddenly thought of a funny scenario: What if he became king, and one day he called a meeting with all his ministers, and halfway through, they all died from radiation infection? That would be ridiculous.

Thinking about it, Uchiha Uran sighed. Well, the Star Dou Great Forest's greatest soul beast was no longer a threat to him.

It was better to take things slow. He'd heard that cultivating to the Titled Douluo level could extend one's lifespan. According to the original novels, one could live to three to five hundred years old.

Just thinking about it made him feel pretty good. Even though he was only six years old, at least living out his old age here was acceptable.

An hour later.

Uchiha Uran threw down his machete, which was already somewhat bent, and looked around to see that he had only chopped down three trees.

Only then did he realize that not bringing an axe with him was a truly foolish act. He was clearly going to the forest, so why didn't he bring an axe?

Unfortunately, he only had this machete with him. He couldn't just rely on his small dagger to stab them one by one, right?

After thinking about it, Uchiha Uran decided to use his wits. Since he had a soul skill, he could use the burst effect caused by this soul skill to dismember the three trees that had already been chopped down.

As for the method of action, it was natural to build a trap next to the tree, and then push the tree over so that it pressed on the trap and triggered it directly.

After deciding on the idea, he immediately took action. Making a soul skill trap was not difficult. It was similar to a game.

It first read the bar, then appeared in his hand, and the last thing he had to do was find a place to put it.

With his soul power, he could only set three or four traps a day at most. Any more and he'd be exhausted, as the energy drain was severe. Fortunately, the trap was powerful enough. A single spike successfully blew the tree apart.

While the surface had many flaws, caused by the scattered rocks from the explosion, it had achieved its goal: separating the crown from the trunk.

The trunk could be used to lay a foundation for a house, but what could the crown be used for?

Fortunately, this was a world with soul power. If he were just a six-year-old from the modern world, he wouldn't even be able to cut down trees in the scorching sun, let alone drag the trunk to its designated location.

But alas, he was a child blessed with both the Sharingan and his soul ring. At his age, he was already invincible!
