Chapter 6 - [Lost Memories] Chapter 5

In the darkness, there are human footsteps. Many footsteps, equally hurried, but of different weights, jumbled together unharmoniously. The heavy wooden door was opened from the outside, and pale blue shadows were the first to float near the dark and damp cell, followed by many silver-white figures.

"When did you find it?" The leading woman sounded somewhat angry.

"Report to Miss Prison Slave, today... It was discovered this morning." One knight replied.

The prison slave looked again at the floor of his cell, and there was indeed only a white robe left on it. In such a heavily guarded prison, I never expected Gu You to escape. She asked the knight behind her, "Did any of you see him escape?"

 "No... I didn't see...

"Don't see? How could you say you didn't see him go out?" The prisoner turned, and the pale blue tail of his robe spun like a delicate flower.

"But... But his clothes... Still here..." One knight whispered.

The prison slave pointed to the clothes on the ground and said, "Yes, I saw them. They are indeed still here. What do you want to tell me? Do you want to say that the prisoner escaped through burrowing? Or, did the prisoner melt away, leaving only a piece of clothing here?"

 No one answered any more.

The prison slave knew that Gu You could never have used the underground technique. First, she saw that Gu You knew no magic at all. What's more, this prison is sealed with spells by the chief mage of the church, the Bishop of God, and no spells can be performed here. So, how did Gu You manage to escape? Was it the guard's fault?

Just as I was thinking, the sound of hurried footsteps came from the passage outside the cell. The prisoner went to the wooden door and saw that it was the Knight commander with a group of people coming.

"You're late." "The prisoner said coldly.

"Miss Prison Slave." The commander bowed and whispered, "The matter has been investigated."

 "The matter? What?"

The regimental commander stepped aside and said to the people behind him, "Drag them over."

Then two of the knights came along, each dragging a naked man. The prison slave saw that both men had black noses and swollen faces, and the blood on their heads had congealed blackish red.

"Who are they?" " The jailer asked Commendatore.

The captain looked very ugly and hesitated for a moment before saying, "They... They are all... Knights in my regiment..."

"Really good-for-nothing!" "How could this be?" the prison slave cursed.

The commander had no choice but to vent his anger on the naked man and said viciously, "How could this be? Say it yourself!"

One of the men said: "We were drinking at a pub and met a young man. He said, treat us to a drink. At first we asked him what he was up to. But he said nothing, just that he wanted to get into the Knights of Light, so he made a few friends in advance. Who knows, after he got us drunk, he... And..."

"I think you yourselves know how to get punished for going out for a drink during patrol time. Drag it out!" The prison slave turned his back.

"Drag down, fifty whips." The regimental commander said, "Let the others step back too."

The two men were dragged to the other side of the dark passage, and the other knights left after bowing to the prison slaves and their commander. The faint footsteps faded away, and finally the depths of the prison returned to its usual tranquility.

The prisoners did not speak, nor did the commander dare to say anything. His own order had already lost face in front of the prison slave lady.

"I really thought the prisoner would have some kind of magic to ignore the seal of the Lord God and run away, but the truth is so interesting. The prisoner's helper got your two derelict subordinates drunk and then took off their clothes and put them on himself. What a brilliant scheme! He actually knew that the knight was free to come and go in this prison." The prison slave did not turn back and said. Her voice was drawn out in the depths of darkness.

"Miss Prison Slave..." The commander wanted to say something to defend himself and his order of Light, but found that his defense now could only stir up more tension.

"Today's Knightly commander, stop your stupid plan. Focus your mind on catching the real murderer and don't play tricks. If you randomly pick someone to replace the assassin, perhaps the court will believe it, but do you think the church's top brass are so easy to deceive?" The prisoner turned around, with a hint of mockery in his voice.

The commander lowered his head even lower, sweating profusely. There is no denying that the miss prison slave in front of him is no ordinary person. And her words, "Today's Commendatore," are enough to worry the commendatore. Today's Knightly Commander, will he be able to keep his commander's medal tomorrow?

"Well... What about this prisoner? He... He and his companions injured many of our companions." The regimental commander asked carefully.

"You brought it upon yourself. As for how to deal with these two people, don't worry about it for now. Issue orders to your subordinates not to have any more conflicts with these two people for no particular reason. They are no ordinary people. If they are the first to cause trouble, I won't let them off the hook." "Once again, the church's top brass wants you to catch the assassin as soon as possible," said the prison slave. Stop being cunning. It won't work."

 "Yes, Miss Prison slave."

 ================================

Two horses carried their master away from the City of Wangshen.

The horses stopped in the ruins of the ancient city, and the rider dismounted, looking a little less skilled.

"Ha ha, this dress is nice and no one has stopped us all the way. And, did you see that people on the street were keeping their distance from us as if they were in awe of us?" Lianwu said with a smile, lowering his head to admire the armor on his body.

"They are in awe of this garment." Gu You took off his helmet, and the white hair on his head poured down.

"Hey, put on, put on. They should have found out by now that you're running away and might be searching the whole city. Your white hair is so conspicuous that it's easy to spot. Let's make it clear that the next time you're caught, I will definitely, definitely, definitely not save you."

Gu You nodded, helplessly putting the helmet back on his head.

Lian Wu brought a stone and sat down, raised his face and asked, "What are your plans next?"

Gu You pulled out the black stone and said, "I want to know who I am."

"Can you really not remember anything?"

 Gu You shook his head.

"Think about it. Maybe you can recall something."

"It's no use. It's been a year and I've tried to think about it, but my memory is blank. I came to the city of Wangshen, hoping to find some traces of my memory here. But I didn't expect so many things to happen here." Gu You covered his head with both hands.

Lian Wu said, "Like this." Then don't think about it. Anyway, I can't remember. There are many things I want to forget but can't. How carefree it is to be a person without burdens."

Gu You gave a wry smile and then suddenly turned serious. He said, "I think of a little, just a little..."

"Really? What do you think of? You say, speak slowly, don't get excited, never get excited, take it slow." Lianwu stood up at once. He told Gu You not to be excited, but his movements seemed even more excited than Gu You's.

"A dream..." Gu You recalled the dream he had in the inn. "In the dream, I saw a woman who told me to leave her alone and go."

"A woman..." With her chin resting on her hand, she suddenly came over and asked, "Pretty?"

 "What?"

"I mean... Do you remember what she looks like?"

Gu You looked up at the distant grey sky as if he had sunk into that dream. After a long while, he said softly, "I can't see her face clearly."

Lianwu raised her eyebrows a little, "What a pity... Did she only say that one sentence to you?"

"Yes, just that one sentence. Then I woke up and the Knight of Light came to catch me."

As if remembering something, Lianwu said, "I forgot an important thing. Fortunately, you mentioned the inn and it reminded me. Didn't you say you gave the clerk two red magic crystals? I was tricked by him. Now, let's go and get the money back."

"Still going?" Gu You was afraid to encounter the Knight of Light again, and the woman called the Prison slave.

"Of course, it's my money. It's okay. We're dressed like this and no one dares to stop us. When the time comes, you'll follow me. No need to speak. Everything is up to me." As he spoke, Lian Wu made random gestures, as if he were a great general in the tent.

Gu You was still hesitating. If the ending was not as perfect as Lian Wu had imagined, but both of them were arrested, then no one would come to rescue them.

"What are you thinking about? If you're scared, stay here and wait for me." "Lian Wu said as he was about to get on his horse.

Gu You grabbed Lian Wu by the shoulder and said, "Let's go together."

Lian Wu finally breathed a sigh of relief. He was really a little afraid that Gu You would let him go alone. He smiled and held Gu You's hand, saying, "Well, let's kill him and turn him upside down."

Just as they were about to mount, another horse came running towards them.

The knight jumped off his warhorse, looked at Gu You and Lian Wu, and asked, "Which unit are you in?"

Gu You turned his head to look at Lian Wu. Lianwu smiled and pretended to be relaxed, saying, "A team."

"A team?" Why aren't you patrolling now?" The knight took out a small notebook and a pen and continued, "Give us your numbers."

Gu You crept up behind the knight.

Lian Wu smiled and said to the knight, "Number... Yes, number."

The knight raised his head, "Stop talking nonsense, say number!"

"Numbers, one two three four five six seven."

"What?" The knight was a little angry.

"What? What? Seven six five four three twenty-one." The practice of dancing is getting easier and easier.

The knight roared, "Lad, are you kidding me? You will be stripped of your knight's glory!"

"Don't... Don't be angry... I was just kidding you... Number, I said. My number... Be careful behind you."

"What did you say?" The knight roared.

Lian Wu raised his head and laughed, while Gu You picked up a stone from behind and threw it on the knight's head. No sooner had the knight finished speaking than he fell limp. Lian Wu laughed and said to Gu You, "Why so long?" I'm so worried."

Gu You shrugged his shoulders. "I haven't found a suitable stone."

"Well done, mount." Lianwu pulled the REINS tightly and got on the horse.

There was not a single customer left in the inn within the city. The clerk leaned against the door, and behind him there were piles of tables and chairs smashed by knights on the floor of the lobby. The clerk said to the man at the table inside the door, "Let's clean up the lobby. Business still needs to be done. Look at the pile, who dares to stay here?"

"Don't worry about that," the man said. "They broke our stuff and sooner or later they'll have to pay for it. Let's just pile up the stuff here so they won't deny it later."

 "Will they pay?"

"No compensation, no compensation. I'll Sue him." What a knight, like a robber." The man picked up the cup and took a sip of tea.

The shop assistant was about to ask the man where he was going to Sue when he ran into the shop as if he had seen a ghost and said in a flustered manner, "Here..." Here he comes... And here they come again..."

"Who's here?" The man looked at the clerk's flustered appearance and found it somewhat amusing.

 "Robber... No... Knights..."

The man's hand trembled and the cup fell over himself, spilling tea all over. "Oh my god, here it comes again, how unlucky!"

Two riders strode into the hall. The man quickly went around the table and came up to the riders and said, "My grandfathers, please, stop smashing. You've ruined the business of the small shop this year."

The shop assistant also came to greet him, but he couldn't understand why the man who had just been so domineering now looked like a prisoner begging for mercy.

One of the knights said, "Don't be nervous. We're not here to fight today. I want to ask you a few questions and you should answer them honestly."

Gu Youxiang, Lian Wu's tone and posture are very much like that of a genuine knight.

"You ask, you ask, I dare not hide anything at all." The man bent his knees, almost kneeling down.

"I ask you, how much did that white-haired man give you when he stayed at the hotel yesterday?"

The man looked at the clerk and said, "A red magic crystal."

Lianwu put her hand on the man's shoulder and said hard, "It seems that you won't tell the truth until I give you some punishment."

The man fell to his knees, tears streaming down. "Two, two. The little man looked a bit like a fool and hid one for himself. I'm telling the truth. Please spare my life, Sir."

The clerk looked at the man and knelt down too.

"Hand over the money and I'll spare your life." Lianwu reached out his hand.

The man hurriedly took out a red magic crystal and a small handful of blue magic crystals from his body and placed them on Lian Wu's palm. Lianwu stuffed the money into his pocket at his waist and said, "Not enough, not enough. What else?"

The man pointed at the clerk. The clerk also quickly pulled out a handful of blue magic crystals and handed them to Lian Wu, saying, "I bought a set of clothes for the white-haired criminal yesterday. There are only so many left."

"What about the clothes?" "Asked Lian Wu.

"Clothes... The clothes were worn away by the white-haired prisoner."

Lian Wu turned back and glared at Gu You, asking, "Where are the clothes?"

Gu You glared back at Lian Wu, wondering if the boy had forgotten that he was acting. Lianwu immediately understood and nodded to the clerk, then said, "Yes, the clothes were worn by the criminal. Well, that's the question for today. "Be honest in business in the future, you know?"

"Yes, yes. Thank you, Sir, for sparing my life." The two nodded in response.

Lian Wu turned back and pulled Gu You out of the inn.

As soon as they stepped out of the inn, Gu You's body suddenly seemed to be frozen by a spell. In the middle of the street outside the shop, he saw again that pale blue figure - the prison slave.

Gu You slapped Lian Wu on the back and then bowed to the prison slave three meters away, saying, "Hello, Miss Prison slave."

Lianwu, too, bowed and said hello. Then it was Gu You who pulled Lianwu and walked quickly towards the alley on the right side of the inn.

"Stop." The jailer followed them a few steps. "Knights, do you no longer want your horses?"

Lienwu walked up to the horse and said, "Thank you, Miss Prison slave, for the reminder. The two of us are busy with business, so we have to leave at once."

Gu You's palms were sweating. Lian Wu must not have known the relationship between the prison slave and the Light Knight. How could he say that he was busy with official business? What official business could a prison slave not know about? Gu You turned away, not knowing what to do.

"White-haired man, we meet again so soon." "The prisoner said.

Lian Wu, who was about to mount his horse, was startled and hurried to Gu You, whispering, "Gu You, who is this?"

"I'm not sure. It seems to be the leader of the knights." Gu You grabbed Lian Wu's wrist and said, "Run." Having said that, he pulled Lianwu and quickly turned into an empty alley.

"Run for what? Hit! "Beat her to pieces." "Lian Wu said, panting as she ran.

"I can't. She..." Halfway through her words, the second half got stuck in her throat. The long, winding alley was cut off by a sudden brick wall about two people high.

"Dead end -- finished --" Linwu cried.

"You two, keep running. Why aren't you running?" The figure of the prison slave appeared not far behind them.

Gu You looked at the ground. There was nothing that could be used as a weapon. Lian Wu drew two short swords from his calves and whispered, "Let's fight with her."

"No, she's very powerful." Gu You said.

"Don't be nervous, you two. I'm not here to catch you today." "I was just passing by and didn't expect to see you." The prisoner took another step closer.

Gu You did not speak. She had no idea what the woman was up to. And Lian Wu seemed a little impatient. He said, "If you want to fight, fight. Stop talking nonsense."

"I'm not here to fight today." The prison slave raised his hands and told the two men that he had no weapon in his hand. She said softly, "I just want to tell you that the Knights of Light won't cause you any more trouble for no reason, so don't offend them any more. Otherwise, things will be very troublesome."

 Lianwu snorted.

"Besides," she looked at Gu You, "I wonder, who are you?"

 "I said, I don't know."

The prisoner took a few more steps forward. "Don't you remember everything that happened before?"

"How do you know?" Gu You retorted.

The prison slave did not answer but said, "Then, have you ever seen a black stone chip slightly smaller than a palm?" One side of the stone was engraved with a 'hide'...

"What black SLATE? I haven't seen it." Gu You brutally broke the prison slave's words. Though he didn't think the woman was as annoying as the Knight of Light, she was in the same group of fools after all. It was hard for him to imagine why a prison slave would be hanging out with the knights.

"Really haven't seen it?" "Asked the prisoner.

"No, really no." Gu You said.

Lian Wu smiled and asked the prison slave, "What shards?" Where can I buy it? How much is one?"

"Never have seen it." The prisoner turned and walked towards the exit of the alley. "Hope to see you again."

The genius wants to see you again. Gu You said to himself. And Lianwu exaggeratedly said, "Well, goodbye. Let's have tea together when we have time."

When the figure of the prison slave disappeared into the alley, the two men were still standing there. Lian Wu took off his helmet and asked Gu You, "Who is that woman?" Are you familiar with her?"

"Not very familiar... I've said that she's the head of the knights. Don't mention her any more."

"All right, all right not to mention her. But... She's pretty. Her name is... Prison slave... A prison slave, right? What a nice name! The person is good-looking and has a pleasant voice. Could you introduce me?" Lianwu continued to be infatuated.

Gu You ignored him and walked straight towards the exit.

"Hey - hey - wait for me a moment. It's just asking you to introduce yourself. Why are you angry? All right, all right. No need for you to introduce. Leave it to yourself."

The two rode out of the city, and since they had not yet taken off their knights' armor, they were still free to go in and out.

They still stopped in the ruins of the old town. Lian Wu dismounted and said to Gu You, "Let's take a break and discuss how to get to know the beautiful prison slave lady."

Gu You also jumped off his horse and asked seriously, "What do you say to discuss?"

"Don't be so serious. Live a little more cheerful." Lian Wu found a stone and was about to sit down when Gu You suddenly grabbed him and said, "Why do you always choose this stone to sit on?"

Lian Wu steawed himself and looked at the stone beneath him. It was engraved with the words "Dream". "Epitaph." "Oh dear, I say it's been so unlucky these days. I always sit on the heads of the dead." Lianwu, cursing, switched to another place and sat down.

Gu You crouched down and carefully stroked the smooth surface on top of the stone. Though it was a tombstone, there was nothing but "Dream" There is no other text on the epitaph. Gu You asked, "Whose grave is this, do you know?"

Lian Wu pointed to the ruins and said, "The Dila Dynasty, the tomb of Princess Meng."

"The Dyra Dynasty?" Gu You asked.

Lian Wu pouted and said, "You really should go to the history class to make up for it. The Dyra dynasty ruled the planet for nearly a thousand years, and then was overthrown a few hundred years ago by the believers of natural harmony and freedom. This ruin was the capital of the Dira Dynasty, but now it looks like this."

"Well... Why is there no text on this tombstone?" Gu You was more interested in these.

"Because the text is in the heart." "The tombstone was erected by the dynasty poet Yazel for Princess Dream," said Lianwu. The poet fell in love with the princess, which was supposed to be a perfect fairy tale. But the princess died of illness before she was eighteen. The dynasty poet was heartbroken and carved a tombstone for his lover. The text of the epitaph was not engraved because the poet buried the text in his heart and left shortly after."

 "Dead?"

"Exactly. The poet drank a lot of wine, burned many of his poems, and the next day his body was found by a palace maid in his bedroom."

 "How did he die?"

"Legend has it that his heart was broken. In fact, he froze all his internal organs by magic." Lian Wu kept laughing as he told the sad story, "So, to this day, there is still only one line of inscription on the tombstone."

Gu You fell silent, not knowing how to express his current feelings.

Lian Wu said, "A very devoted poet, isn't he? But some say he's crazy. But I think he was lucky enough to die for love than to live and see his beloved dynasty overthrown."

Gu nodded and shook his head.

"Let's not talk about these cliched stories anymore. Let's discuss the next plan."

 "What next?"

Lianwu said, "What should we do next?" How do you retrieve your memory? Also, are we going to open a store and make some money while I do some business at the same time?"

"I don't know how I can get my memory back," Gu said. Perhaps unraveling that dream will reveal something. Also, how could a prison slave know that I have black stones on me?"

"Then go and ask her and see her again by the way." Lianwu was always grinning, especially when he spoke of the prison slave, his face bloomed like a flower.

"No, perhaps she's in the same gang as those who assassinated the owner of this stone. She asked me like that, perhaps trying to test me." Gu You got a headache as soon as he heard the woman's name. Indeed, she was too powerful.

"How about we open a store and fight for our customers? Anyway, you're so good at fighting." Lian Wu continued to imagine.

 Gu You ignored Lian Wu.

"Don't you like fighting? Or... Let me think... It's fine to help someone rob their home, too."

Gu You stood up and jumped onto the horse.

"Ha ha, I'm just kidding you. Don't be angry. Hey, wait for me a moment." Lianwu also climbed onto the horse's back.
