Chapter 34: Morgan's Plan
"My lady Morgan, you summoned me." Cang Ye knelt on one knee, paying his respects to Morgan.
Even though their relationship was now far from ordinary and Morgan's attitude towards him had shifted from looking down to seeing him as an equal, Cang Ye was still accustomed to his old ways. And Morgan enjoyed seeing him like this.
"Come here, Lamorak. Into the pool." Her command was as concise as ever, but Cang Ye knew this meant she had important matters to discuss.
He stepped into the pool, looking up at Morgan from below. The white steam filling the bathhouse made her skin appear even more fair and tender, as if it would break at the slightest touch. Without waiting for Morgan to speak, Cang Ye instinctively took her foot and began to wash it for her.
The pure, warm water trickled down her ankle, over the arch of her foot that was like a work of art, and finally dripped onto Cang Ye's chest. He gently massaged her small, delicate toes, the sensation warm and soft like jade.
Even though he had been stepped on and played with by these beautiful feet more than once, he still marveled at their perfection.
Morgan parted her legs slightly, resting her other foot on Cang Ye's shoulder, her gaze never leaving him.
"Lamorak," Morgan suddenly asked, "who would you rather see win? The White Dragon or the Red Dragon?"
Cang Ye understood this was the beginning of the conversation. His hands continued their work as he thought for a moment. He didn't choose to offer empty flattery by saying he wished for Morgan to win. Instead, he answered in a more tactful and pleasing way.
"It matters not whether it is the White Dragon or the Red Dragon. Whichever side brings greater benefit to you, my lady Morgan, is the side I will favor."
A slight smile curved Morgan's lips. "And do you know who I want to win?"
"That..." This time, Cang Ye hesitated.
Emotionally, given Morgan's expressed aversion and attitude towards Artoria, she undoubtedly did not want to see Artoria defeat Vortigern and become the prophesied king who could threaten her. However, Cang Ye found it unlikely that this alone would make her wish for Vortigern's victory. After all, in every sense, the aged and experienced Vortigern, with his rich life experience and cunning, was a far more difficult opponent than the "Saberface" who had been groomed to be a king.
Furthermore, Cang Ye wasn't sure if Morgan knew about the decline of the Age of Gods. Judging from how the Usurper King had gone out of his way to find him and use that secret to persuade him to join the White Dragon's faction, Cang Ye suspected Morgan was unaware. If she had known, it was likely that he, being close to her, would have known as well, rendering Vortigern's grand gesture unnecessary.
So, if he had to guess, he truly didn't know who Morgan wanted to win. After thinking it over and coming up empty, he honestly admitted he didn't know.
Seeing Cang Ye, who was usually so quick-witted and always seemed to know what she wanted, now unable to guess her thoughts, Morgan felt not anger, but a sense of amusement. Women were often like that, wanting to be a book that the man they loved could never fully read.
She gently lifted her foot, hooking it under his chin. "Frankly, I dislike the idea of either of them winning. It would be best if they both died on the battlefield."
"But that's impossible."
"A few days ago, I peered into fate once more. The war between the two dragons will not end in mutual destruction. There will be only one victor."
Cang Ye listened silently, not interrupting to ask who the victor would be.
"But you know," Morgan continued, the smile on her lips widening as she looked down at the man at her feet, "we once swore to defy fate."
"Fate says there will be one victor, so I will make them both fall. Whether it's the two dragons, the so-called King Arthur, or the Usurper King... anyone who dares to covet my land, my island, my throne, will pay the price in blood."
"Do you understand, Lamorak?"
"I will dedicate my all to you, my lady Morgan."
Without a shred of hesitation, Cang Ye grasped her foot and, as if kissing her hand, planted a deep kiss on the back of her foot, as white as mutton fat jade.
"Good, Lamorak. Very good." Morgan chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead.
"I will tell you my plan. I will deal with Vortigern myself. As for you... you will infiltrate the camp of that weak Red Dragon, destroy his power, and at the moment of his greatest triumph, deliver to him the despair of death."
"Understood?"
"Yes, my lady Morgan." Cang Ye's demeanor remained respectful. He looked up at his master, his eyes filled with nothing but her reflection. This sent a fresh wave of pleasure through Morgan.
"What should I do first, my lady Morgan?" Cang Ye asked.
"Simple." With a light wave of her hand, a silver tray appeared on the tiled edge of the bath. On it sat a bottle of aged red wine and a crystal goblet.
"First, break that so-called 'Symbol of Britain's King,' that blade they call the Sword of Kings."
Cang Ye silently committed this to memory, asking instinctively, "Are we to crush Arthur's spirit first?"
"No. My first target is not Arthur." Morgan dismissed his idea. She picked up the wine, uncorked it, and poured herself a full glass. The blood-red liquid filled the goblet, glinting seductively in the dim light of the bathhouse. A sweet aroma filled the air.
Morgan downed the wine in one go. A thin red line trickled from the corner of her mouth, down her long neck, and disappeared between the twin peaks of her chest. After a moment, she wiped her mouth, finally revealing her true answer.
"My target... is Merlin."
As if recalling an unpleasant memory, a cold glint appeared in her eyes. "I once asked him if he could help me gain Father's approval. Or at the very least, put in a good word for me, give me a chance to prove myself."
"But he mocked my audacity, said my fate was plain to see, and that I could never become a king in this lifetime."
"But now I have. Not only have I done it, but I am now more powerful than him."
"It is time for that disgusting incubus to pay the price for his foolish words. He called me a witch, so I shall do to him what a witch ought to do."
"He should go crawl back into his crumbling tower."
As she spoke, her expression turned cruel, her smile growing wild. In that moment, she truly seemed to be the evil yet mysteriously alluring witch, the妖妃 (Yāofēi - Bewitching Consort).
Without a word, Cang Ye simply smiled and continued to serve Morgan, his eyes filled with deep affection.
She took another large gulp of wine, this time straight from the bottle. Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, she looked down at him again. "Are you thirsty, Lamorak?"
"I am fine, but if my lady Morgan wishes for me to join you in your revelry, I would be deeply honored."
At his words, a beautiful and enchanting smile blossomed on Morgan's face. She raised the bottle and slowly poured the wine down her own chest. Soon, a red stream flowed from the peaks of the mountains, tracing a path downward. In the faint mist, her fair skin was stained with a light red blush and a sweet fragrance, like an angel and a demon all at once.
"Come, Lamorak. Taste the fine vintage."
Morgan chuckled, pulling Cang Ye's head into her embrace.
And so that night, the Queen and her knight shared a fragrant and sensual vintage, and forged a plan that would change the future of Britain forever.
