Elyon.

My brother's name was Elyon.

I repeated it silently in my mind, testing how it felt. It was strange and unfamiliar, and yet it also felt right somehow.

I looked at him, for the first time. He had dark hair, strong features, eyes that carried both strength and sorrow. He looked like someone who had seen too much, endured too much.

Just like me.

"Elyon," I whispered, the name foreign on my tongue.

He nodded, his smile growing just a fraction. "Yes. Elyon Ashford. Your brother."

"How old are you?" I asked, studying his face more carefully.

"Twenty-seven," Elyon replied simply.

Twenty-seven. I did the quick calculation in my head. He was one year older than Adrian. A sudden thought struck me, and before I could stop myself, the question tumbled out. "How are you still alive?"

The moment the words left my mouth, I realized how rude they sounded. My eyes widened in horror. "I didn't mean to—I'm sorry, I—"
