Captain Johnson ripped the electric shock dart out of his shoulder, squeezing it in his hand until it was misshapen. With a flick of his long tail, the arrows shot at him were swatted away.
Steve, who had been knocked to the ground, hadn't even managed to regain his footing before he was struck by the long tail. He let out a scream and was sent flying like a bowling ball, tumbling over ten meters and into the water.
Realizing Captain Johnson's target was him, Bob Eagle's body grew in size. Scales rapidly covered his skin, and a long tail lashed out from behind him as he transformed into a Lizardman.
Before he could even roar, Captain Johnson flashed in front of him. Bob Eagle didn't have time to react before he was slapped to the ground. Sharp claws tore across his face, leaving three deep, bone-exposing gashes and even piercing his facial bones.
Captain Johnson stomped on Bob's face, preparing to devour his body. The smell of his own kind's blood was driving him wild.
Cade Eagle frantically raised his rifle and fired. A hail of bullets rained down on him, only to be deflected with a clatter. The other assassins swung their heavy weapons and pounced, but he sent them all flying with his long tail.
Before he could lower his head to devour Bob Eagle again, Kakarot slammed her knees into the back of his head, driving him into the ground.
The reinforced concrete ground cracked with spiderweb-like fissures, and a deep depression formed as his entire head was embedded into the ground. Some of the concrete was even crushed into dust.
The powerful force directly shattered his skull, leaving a large dent in the back of his head.
Captain Johnson's monstrous body was still for a moment, then he reached up with both hands, trying to grab Kakarot, who was standing on his head.
Kakarot leaped up, flipping several times in the air before landing on the ground. Her slender, delicate eyebrows were furrowed, almost vertical. In that previous attack, she had channeled her Ki/Energy into Captain Johnson's brain, nearly turning it to mush. Yet, even after taking such a blow, Captain Johnson hadn't died.
Captain Johnson roared as he pulled his head out of the ground.
The cunning beast still held onto Bob Eagle, not pursuing Kakarot, but instead trying to swallow Bob Eagle whole.
Even though his mind was still consumed by a frenzied beastly nature, Captain Johnson was well aware that if he absorbed Bob's power, he could easily defeat Kakarot.
His lizard-like mouth had just opened when Kakarot clamped it shut with her arms.
"You won't eat him, monster!"
Kakarot had nearly exhausted all her strength. Captain Johnson's power had surged, and she was now finding it difficult to suppress him. If Bob hadn't looked so much like Cade, she wouldn't have risked her life to save him; she would have used Kamehameha to destroy him directly.
"Run! Run away!"
Bob Eagle was already covered in scratches. He glanced at Kakarot with a complicated expression, broke free from the restraints, and ran away with all his might.
"Roar!"
The Lizardman had escaped his grasp. Enraged, Captain Johnson's scales stood on end. He grabbed Kakarot with one claw, pulling her out of his mouth.
"I've got you now, you fool. After I tear you to pieces, Bob Eagle still won't escape my clutches."
Captain Johnson sneered, his voice becoming very sharp, like nails scratching on glass.
"I won't be caught by you like this!"
Kakarot reinforced her body with Ki/Energy, blocking the claw's piercing attack. She spread her hands, positioning them on either side of her face.
"Solar Flare!"
Blinding light erupted instantly, almost burning the retinas at such close range. Broly had emphasized the technique of Solar Flare when instructing Kakarot, as it was a practical skill that allowed her to overcome the weak.
Even with tears streaming from his eyes due to the intense light, Captain Johnson stubbornly held onto Kakarot. He knew that if she escaped, it wouldn't be so easy to catch her again.
Ignoring his own injuries, Eclipse snatched a spiked club from a nearby assassin and slammed it onto Captain Johnson's head. However, even Kakarot couldn't kill him, and the blow only made the temporarily blinded Captain Johnson stagger.
"Get down!"
Taking advantage of Captain Johnson's blindness, Hawkeye released an arrow. With a twang of the bowstring, the arrow pierced the air and embedded itself in Captain Johnson's right eye.
"Boom!"
The explosives inside the arrow detonated, and the internal blast effortlessly blew Captain Johnson's head apart. Sharp, scale-like shrapnel flew everywhere, and blood and flesh splattered against the walls.
All that remained of his head was the hardened skull. Even the bones around his eye sockets were shattered.
"Is... is he dead?" Balvino asked quietly. In his opinion, having your head blown apart meant certain death.
"No! He's not dead yet, his Ki/Energy, his Ki/Energy hasn't weakened!"
Kakarot broke free from the claws that gripped her and jumped back, creating distance. Then, she began to gather her Ki/Energy.
Flesh, like wriggling worms, crawled out from Captain Johnson's neck. The damaged skull quickly grew a layer of fascia, and before long, muscle appeared on the fascia. Organs like the brain and eyeballs rapidly regrew.
The terrifying and disgusting scene was met with sounds of nausea.
Professor Connors looked at Captain Johnson in pain, he hadn't expected the serum to create such a terrifying monster. The assassins were taking care of him, protecting him at the rear. Since he hadn't transformed into a Lizardman to join the fight, Captain Johnson didn't know he was one too.
"Kamehameha!"
A dazzling Ki/Energy blast struck Captain Johnson, who hadn't fully recovered. Kakarot's Ki/Energy was running low; this Kamehameha had nearly exhausted most of it, and her combat ability would rapidly decline.
Boom!
The violent explosion directly collapsed the already riddled sewer. Earth, rubble, and concrete cascaded down like a waterfall.
"Retreat! Retreat quickly!"
Even the powerful Kakarot wouldn't fare well if buried underground. Everyone retreated dozens of meters before leaving the collapse zone.
Sunlight shone into the depths, and everyone felt as if they were experiencing a world apart.
"You guys keep going. He's not dead yet, just weakened."
Kakarot's face twisted into a frown. She sat cross-legged on the ground to recover her Ki/Energy, preparing to use the opportunity of Captain Johnson being buried to regain some strength before fighting him again. The Kamehameha she just used was her strongest attack, and yet it still hadn't taken down Captain Johnson.
"We retreat first. The agency is mobilizing new forces, they'll be here soon."
Black Widow said. The video she transmitted back had made Nick Fury realize the seriousness of the situation. This made him make up his mind, and he contacted Tony Stark, who was in a state of isolation, and a monster who was on the run.
Kakarot opened her eyes and looked up curiously.
"The reinforcements you mentioned are already here? I can feel it. Such strong Ki/Energy. This is the first time I've sensed such powerful Ki/Energy from someone other than Broly."
She mumbled in surprise. Before leaving the farm, she thought that Broly was the strongest on Earth, and she was the second strongest. Feeling this Ki/Energy now was almost on par with Broly a month ago when he entered his enraged form, it was unbelievably strong.
A strong sense of frustration rose from the bottom of her heart. Ugh, perhaps she can't be lazy anymore when she cultivates in the future. If she continued like this, Broly would definitely abandon her, who was weak.
Black Widow's expression showed surprise.
"No, the reinforcements I mentioned are still on their way. They couldn't possibly have arrived so quickly."
