"Dam... damn it!"
Captain Johnson stood up from the ground, his wounds rapidly healing. Shameful fury threatened to consume him completely. Being knocked down by a girl not even ten years old in front of his subordinates felt like a direct challenge to his authority.
He roared, his massive body stirring up a strong, fishy wind as he lunged towards Kakarot.
"Hah!"
Kakarot didn't retreat; instead, she charged towards Captain Johnson as well. Her figure flickered, suddenly appearing in front of him.
She planted her hands on the ground and kicked towards Captain Johnson's chest.
Before the kick landed, the force of her legs, like sharpened blades, scraped against Captain Johnson's scales, creating a hissing sound.
Captain Johnson's heart lurched, and he crossed his arms in front of his chest, blocking the earth-shattering kick. A loud bang echoed out, and a sharp pain shot through his arms.
He was kicked so hard that he was sent flying, plastered against the ceiling like a painting, his heavy body cracking the surface.
Kakarot landed with a somersault, her feet hitting the ground. With a stomp, the solid granite floor shattered inch by inch. The ground shook violently, and she leaped into the air like a cannonball, hurtling towards Captain Johnson, who was falling.
Their fists and claws met. Captain Johnson suddenly whipped out his long tail, creating a sonic boom as it slammed into Kakarot. The muscles in his tail were extremely developed; with that swing, even a steel-reinforced concrete pillar the size of a waist would have been split apart.
"Argh!"
Kakarot screamed, flying out like a cannonball. The blow was severe, blasting a spiderweb-like crater into the wall, where she was stuck.
Captain Johnson shook his aching tail, extending his feet. With a powerful explosive force, he lunged towards Kakarot on the wall, the muscles and sinews on his body swelling, almost tearing his scales.
A pair of sharp claws shot out like lightning, the tiny muscles on them wriggling like scales, tearing through the air with a crack, as they pounced towards Kakarot on the wall.
The killing intent in his heart was almost boiling over, with no thought of holding back. Even a block of iron would have had several pounds torn off if he had landed that blow.
Eclipse, who had been watching from the shadows, immediately cried out in alarm when he saw what was happening. However, he was too far away, and a Lizardman had him pinned down. He couldn't possibly intervene. In fact, distracted, he was bitten on the arm by the Lizardman opposite him, and blood gushed forth.
"Hah!"
Kakarot shattered the wall and, spreading her arms, grabbed Captain Johnson's wrist. Her legs, like powerful arrows, unleashed a series of kicks.
Captain Johnson was caught off guard and took over a dozen kicks in the blink of an eye. His lizard head was thrown back, and even his tough skull let out a cracking sound under the strain.
Suddenly, Kakarot released her grip and, moving like a fish, circled behind Captain Johnson. She wrapped her hands around his head, which was about the same size as her own, and twisted with all her might.
Crack!
With a sharp sound, Captain Johnson's head was twisted a hundred and eighty degrees.
The two of them stared at each other for a moment.
"I'll tear you to shreds! I absolutely will tear you to shreds!"
Captain Johnson roared in fury, snapping and clawing at Kakarot. Despite his broken neck, his powerful regeneration kept him going strong, showing no signs of serious injury.
Kakarot sneered, dodging Captain Johnson's mouth. She tried to pull his head off like pulling a carrot from the ground.
No matter how strong Captain Johnson's regeneration was, his head separated from his body would mean certain death.
Her strength was immense, and the effort caused Captain Johnson's spine to creak, making him scream in pain.
"Die!"
Enraged, Captain Johnson opened his mouth wide, and a green flame erupted, engulfing the unprepared Kakarot.
Gwen Stacy's hands blurred across the keyboard, typing lines of code at incredible speed. The computer, stolen from the Lizardmen, could now function like a small server. Its processing power was incredibly potent, running at high speed amidst the whirring of the cooling fans.
She had been interning with the Cross-Species Gene Project Group for nearly a year and a half, so her understanding of the Lizard Serum far exceeded Tessa's.
\n\n
It wasn't long before the computer calculated the results based on the decay rate formula she had entered. Gwen Stacy immediately started the gene editing machine to create the serum.
\n\n
Glancing at the time on her watch, she felt a little uneasy. According to the efficiency of this gene editing machine, it would take about ten more minutes to produce the serum.
\n\n
Ten more minutes… can your friend hold out that long?
\n\n
She typed this string of characters into the computer and then immediately deleted it.
\n\n
"Don't worry, Kakarot will definitely defeat those Lizardmen! We just need to prepare to take out the Lizardman monitoring us!"
\n\n
Tessa was full of confidence. She had seen Kakarot transform into a Giant Ape. In her opinion, even if there were hundreds of Lizardmen, Kakarot could easily crush them.
\n\n
Gwen nodded. She knew this was already their best chance to escape from the Lizardmen.
"Beep!"
A digital sound echoed from the gene editing machine. Gwen opened the hatch and retrieved two icy syringes.
The Lizardman, who had been left to monitor them, immediately turned his head. This was the first time he had seen the two of them produce a drug.
"What is this? Have you created a finished Lizard Serum?"
He eyed the two syringes, his cold, vertical pupils gleaming. A greedy expression spread across his face, which still retained many human features. If this was truly Lizard Serum, he could inject it into a couple of humans, devour them, and dramatically increase his strength.
It was just a pity that with Captain Johnson's power, he wouldn't be a match, even if he consumed two of his own kind.
Captain Johnson's overwhelming strength kept the ambitious Lizardman from acting rashly.
"These are merely experimental products, highly unstable. The probability of transforming into a Lizardman is very low."
Tessa explained.
Gwen subtly activated a program on the computer. The gene editing machine, which had been operating normally, suddenly emitted a piercing electromagnetic screech, followed by billowing black smoke.
"What's going on?"
The Lizardman was alarmed. This gene editing machine was crucial for the production of the Lizard Serum, and absolutely nothing could go wrong. He couldn't afford to incur Captain Johnson's wrath.
He didn't want to be eaten by his own kind.
"It's a voltage surge! Cut the power immediately!"
Gwen said calmly.
The Lizardman quickly turned, preparing to pull the circuit breaker. He had just placed his hand on the switch when a sharp pain erupted in his side, and strength rapidly drained from his body.
"Wha...what's going on?"
