Synopsis
Humans have waged wars since the beginning of time. But in my world, people don’t fight against each other — they fight together. We have only one enemy: the demons. They appeared about five years ago through a red portal. It was so large that entire armies came out of it. Chaos reigned, and millions of lives were lost. But humanity took action to kill the red beasts... There was one more problem: demons were thought to be invincible. However, it turned out they were only immune to firearms and everything else humanity had to offer. So, humans began capturing them and conducting experiments. It was discovered that demons could be killed by targeting the horn on their heads. So, their horns were ripped off, and bullets were crafted for a special rifle — and most importantly, swords made from demon horns. That’s how the demons were made vulnerable. The demons’ goal has always been to grow stronger and take over the world. There were three major generals: a giant, an assassin, and a demon knight. They were known as the Three Demon Generals. And their leader was the Demon King. It’s said he killed 600 soldiers in a single second, and he effortlessly slaughters anyone who stands in his way. He is the main problem. But of course, we humans also have an elite group — five people, the strongest among us. They are also called the Elite. They turn demons to ash. And now comes me. My name is Mike. I want to become one of the Elite, because the demons took my parents, my family. I will kill the Demon King and destroy all demons. But on my first mission, during the training to become a Demon Killer, fate had other plans. In a battle between my group and one of the generals, we lost everything. One by one, everyone died. I was the last one standing — but in the end, I had no chance and died... Or so I thought? I woke up under rubble, not knowing what had happened. At first, I couldn’t remember anything. But the memory loss didn’t last long — everything came back to me. I swore revenge, by my blood. The demons had taken everything from me — my family, and now my comrades... even my friends. But then, a glowing red digital window appeared before me: "Hello, Demon. Do you want to level up?"

Chapter 1 - Demon Attack

"Today is a shitty day."

The swearing

came from a slim, brown-haired boy. His phone had fallen, and of course, the screen had landed right on a rock. As always.

The sun was just rising, and Mike was on his way home from a party. Dark circles under his eyes, trembling hands. Mike just wanted to sleep. He picked up his shattered phone and continued walking home.

When he arrived at the door, he searched for his key in his jacket pocket. Mike pulled it out and unlocked the door, after dropping it twice.

"Mike, were you out all night again?" a worried mother asked. She held a piece of bread in her hand, her face filled with anxious concern.

"Mike, you need to get over Lara. She just chose Liam."

"Leave me alone, Mom," Mike muttered.

He walked up the stairs. He stumbled on the last step but managed to catch himself, then headed to his room, opened the door, and slammed it shut.

"Mike, wait..."

His mother stood there, more disappointed than sad.

A hand tapped her shoulder.

"Ah, don't worry about it. That's how 16-year-old boys are. We should really leave him alone. But the fact that he isn't going to school, that's just not okay."

The parents each sat down on a chair and continued talking.

The room next to Mike's belonged to his younger brother. Mike had two younger brothers in total. He kind of liked them. It was a love-hate thing.

At some point, Mike woke up. He opened his eyes and sat up suddenly, soaked in sweat. He kicked the blanket off his legs, sat on the edge of the bed, and took a deep breath.

He stood up.

"Where am I? Oh. Home."

He walked to the window and opened it. It was sunset.

"I actually slept the whole day? Damn it, I only wanted to sleep until 1 p.m."

Mike walked to his bedroom door, opened it, and went downstairs to the kitchen. His parents were talking, but stopped the moment they saw him.

"Am I interrupting something?"

"No, Mike, everything's fine."

But his father looked angry and tense, and his mother had tears in her eyes, unless Mike was imagining it.

"Okay, what's going on?"

His father stood up. As he did, Mike felt a heavy, suffocating aura fill the room, but then it suddenly vanished.

Mike's father tapped him on the shoulder and smiled.

"You're adopted."

"What? Excuse me, what?"

His father continued speaking.

"Yes, you're adopted. But it doesn't change anything. We're telling you now. We were actually going to tell you later, but since you're mentally falling apart because of Lara and everything, and sleeping all day..."

Suddenly, his father became furious. He started yelling, clenched his fist, and hit Mike so hard that he flew onto the kitchen table. Blood splattered from his nose. His adoptive father had aimed straight at it.

His father kept shouting things like "Trash, filth, pathetic."

Mike had had enough. He stood up, wiped the blood off with his arm, and it stuck to his hand.

"Shut up!" Mike screamed.

He ran toward his adoptive father, stopped right in front of his face, raised an arm and hit him with his elbow. Then he ducked and punched him in the stomach.

But the man just stood there and took everything Mike threw at him.

Then he grabbed Mike with both hands, lifted him into the air, and headbutted him so hard that Mike blacked out.

Mike's adoptive mother screamed, "Are you insane, Klog?"

But Klog, the adoptive father, was no longer himself. His eyes glowed red like fire. A wide smile stretched across his face.

Klog crouched, then jumped into the air, crashing through the roof, with Mike on his shoulder.

They rose higher and higher into the sky, until a red, flashing portal opened before them.

They were pulled inside.

And the smile on Klog's face grew even wider.

Mike woke up, kneeling in front of a throne.

He saw two horns and a figure in full black armor.

Behind the throne stood a creature with three heads.

Mike turned his head to the side and then looked behind him. Behind Mike stood so many soldiers, they couldn't even be counted.

Mike's attempt to observe the room was interrupted by a deep, echoing laugh.

It came from the throne. It was the two-horned figure. She drew a sword and spoke in a demonic voice.

"Bring him in."

Mike saw Klog. His hands were tied behind his back, and a knight kicked Klog in the leg. Klog fell to his knees next to Mike.

"M-Mike, w-what is goi—"

Suddenly, Klog's head flew into the air. A sword had sliced through it.

The evil laughter grew stronger.

"Mike, you—" the evil laughter stopped.

"You are weak. I will change that. I will conquer the world, and for that, I need warriors."

Blood splashed onto Mike as the two-horned figure pulled the sword out of Klog's neck.

"Nooo! Klog, y-you monster! I'm going to beat the shit out of you now!"

Mike didn't understand what was happening. He just wanted revenge. He stood up on his feet and ran toward the throne.

The demon laughed, and his hand started glowing black. A black and red explosion burst out, and Mike was unharmed.

The demon was gone.

He didn't know what had happened. He just looked around, and the knights bowed. They went to their knees.

A portal opened above the throne, and only Mike was pulled in again.

He came out in the air again. Mike was falling straight toward the ground, but as he looked around in the sky, he saw the city burning everywhere.

Mike couldn't believe what was happening.

"Am I dreaming?"

Mike was still very high up in the air and had enough time. He took out his phone and called his adoptive mother.

Someone actually answered.

"Mom, please help. They k-killed Klog, and I'm in the air. You have to help me, okay?"

A demonic laugh was all that came from the phone, then a following scream and silence.

"MOM!!!"

Mike dropped the phone and screamed.

"Why!!! Why is this happening?! Shit, shit!"

Mike's eyes were glowing red. His blood was boiling, and Mike lost consciousness.

His unconscious body hit the ground in the city, and a shockwave destroyed the area. Buildings were smashed, shops were blown away, and trees flew through the air.

All just from Mike's impact.

"Hey, there's someone lying there!"

"Yeah, we're taking him back to base."
