Chapter 329: The Divine Evolution
GRRRAAAAAAAHHHH!!
The abomination let out a screech as its body began to twist and transform, its skin ripping and limbs bending unnaturally, its body once again adapting to the current danger.
[Intra Shuffle activated.]
Vritra's left hand grew again though it was temporary and would disappear if he deactivated the skill.
Just as the big butcher-like knife was about to come loose with its skin wriggling and ripping, Vritra gripped it and pushed it deeper.
Using every bit of his strength he plunged his fingers into the small hole that was created and let out a thundering shout, while ripping the thick skin of the creature.
The abomination continued to transform, it started to break out of the writ that Vritra had set and slowly its teeth began to return to their dangerous form.
The sharp teeth plunged into his feet and hands, cutting into his flesh, but Vritra endured.
While stopping the poison in its tracks, he pushed his fingers deeper into the flesh—or whatever that disgusting wriggling thing could be called—and kept pulling it apart.
"Damn, just rip already..." Vritra cursed, this thing was too thick-skinned and inside the skin all he saw so far was flesh, no organs or anything.
The rush of adrenaline made Vritra push his limits, ignoring the pain, his heart beating extremely fast.
KRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRR
The abomination began to stand, its body already returning to better than its peak state. Vritra knew he would be in really serious trouble if he couldn't do anything.
"Fuck!" Cursing again, he gave up on defence and changed the forbidden writ.
"Forbid: the life source is luminescent!!"
Instantly the teeth of the creature returned to their original state and buried deep into Vritra's hands and legs. Intense pain shot through his body, and poison again entered his bloodstream.
But his idea worked as a strong light shot out of the abomination's body, it was present near the throat area, half a meter above the place where Vritra had ripped its body.
Throwing caution to the fire, he pushed his left hand into the RipMaw's body and aimed for the glowing object.
The abomination had almost transformed, it brought both of its now shorter hands towards Vritra in a dangerous manner, about to crush his skull.
Vritra felt a slimy sensation against his fingers. Without a thought, he gripped the head-sized object and pulled it out despite the strong resistance.
UUAAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!
The abomination's body arched backward as if suffering immense pain. Along with the deafening scream, the sound of something like nerves breaking also rang out.
A fountain of black liquid shot out of the abomination's chest as soon as Vritra pulled out the glowing organ, and he jumped away from its body, the sharp teeth finally coming out of his flesh.
"Huff... Ughh... It hurts so b-bad... haa haa..."
Vritra muttered under his breath as he moved away from the RipMaw, and only stopped when there was some distance between the two.
Then with his nether eye he observed the creature, the entire body of the abomination was shivering violently.
KIIIIEEEEEEEKKKKKK
While spasming, it fell back and its body began to break apart. Within a couple of minutes, it had broken into countless tiny bugs that writhed in pain and rolled all over the ground before dying.
Vritra maintained the distance and just observed the scene for a while, and only after he was sure that the RipMaw was finally dead did he let his body relax.
He fell back and panted heavily.
"Haa... T-That was a bit tough, but I won!!"
He pulled out a couple of potions and gulped them down. Unfortunately, there were no healing potions here that could help him.
Even the poison-toxifying potions were weak and could barely do anything against such dangerous poison.
Vritra removed the tiny insects that had entered his body along with the poison but were stopped by him.
After a short rest, he looked down at the head-sized thing which had already stopped glowing.
"This was the root... haa haa... of it a-all... huff..."
Just then a message popped in Vritra's mind from the sin system.
{You have cleansed one RipMaw!!}
{You have obtained one Sin Coin!!}
{Sin Coin:The Divine's creation of life, it is powerful enough to create new sorts of life forms. Each sin coin could result in utter destruction if used in the wrong manner and can result in countless new inventions.}
{1 Sin Coin → 1 Level.}
{Would you like to devour the Sin Coin and start the evolution of your Divine Physique and Bloodline?}
"I knew it, that fight wasn't a dream after all, so some sort of changes did happen to my physique and bloodline.
But I am sure the two original physiques are still there." Vritra pondered, then focused his attention on the new messages.
What was there to think about, everything related to the sin system and divine was better than everything else.
But he wondered what it meant by the word 'Devour'. Looking at the heart-like thing he thought maybe he would have to eat it...
"Yes!!" he answered. It's not like he hadn't eaten anything strange before, so even though it didn't look edible he could still do it.
{Devouring the Sin Coin!!}
{The Evolution of Divine Physique and Bloodline has begun.}
Instantly the heart transformed into viscous liquid, that clung to his skin and then entered through the pores, spreading throughout his body.
Some sort of changes started taking effect within his body, giving him a relaxing feeling.
The process continued for around ten minutes and then more messages flashed before him.
{Sin Coin → 1/2500}
{You have levelled up!!}
Vritra: "..."
"Ha! I need how many more of these coins? 2499?!! How am I supposed to kill so many of those abominations?"
Vritra touched his head, but he could feel that after absorbing that heart his overall strength had grown quite a bit.
He didn't even know where he would be able to find so many of those creatures, but he was just happy with such a sweet victory.
Vritra's healing ability had improved, so his wounds began to heal slowly, but it was nowhere enough to regrow an entire arm.
"I guess I will have to do with this for now, but I also need to find a way out of here."
After the rest he finally stood up and calculated the time he had spent in this forest.
It was impossible to know about it from the sky, but from the time he had left the town he should have spent around six or so hours.
"Let's go a bit deeper, that first location isn't far from here."
After making up his mind, Vritra began to run, though his speed was slower because of the injuries.
Keeping the nether eye and Intra Shuffle active at every moment, he made sure to avoid the danger and after running for more than thirty minutes he finally appeared close to that place.
The mist made it difficult to see exactly what was in front.
But as Vritra got close to the location, he raised his head and stared in bewilderment at the gigantic temple, nearly two hundred meters high and spread over a few kilometres.

Chapter 219: Back home
After the eventful encounter on the rooftop, Leon and Seraphine made their way back through the city streets. The walk home was quiet, both of them processing the day's events in their own ways.
Once they reached their house, they made their way through the familiar halls until they arrived at their bedroom. The space felt like a sanctuary after all the chaos and drama they had witnessed.
Leon closed the door behind them and let out a long breath. The room was dimly lit by the soft glow of evening light filtering through the windows.
"What a day," he said, running a hand through his silver hair as he looked at Seraphine.
Seraphine settled onto the edge of their bed, her amethyst eyes reflecting on everything that had transpired. The battle with the abyssal monster, the aftermath with Loriel, and meeting Aurelia—it had been quite overwhelming.
"That girl really is something else," she commented, clearly referring to Loriel. "I've never seen someone cry over such minor injuries."
Leon nodded, loosening his shirt as he moved around the room. The privacy of their bedroom allowed them both to finally relax and speak freely about what they had witnessed, away from the prying eyes and complex politics of their earlier encounters.
The mysterious meeting Aurelia had arranged for the next day still lingered in his thoughts. Still, for now, he was content to be alone with Seraphine in the comfort of their own space.
Leon undid the last of his buttons and slipped off his shirt, tossing it onto the chair by the window. He rolled his shoulders, tension gradually leaving his body. "We should wash this day off," he murmured, glancing toward the adjoining bath chamber.
Seraphine stood, her dark-lavender hair spilling over her shoulders. "That sounds perfect," she said softly. The exhaustion in her voice didn't hide the warmth in her eyes as she followed him inside. Even after today... being near him like this still makes my heart race.
The bathroom was large, built with polished stone and enchanted pipes that kept water endlessly hot. Leon twisted the golden handle, and a steady stream poured down from the overhead spout, steaming the air within moments. The mist clung to their skin, wrapping the room in a hazy intimacy.
Without speaking, Seraphine reached for the ties of her clothes. Piece by piece, the fabric fell away until she stood bare before him, her skin glistening faintly in the rising humidity. Leon's gaze lingered on her, drinking in the smooth lines of her body, the soft curves that only seemed to grow more tempting in the mist.
She met his eyes and gave a small, knowing smile. "You're staring."
"I always do," he answered, pulling down his trousers and stepping free of them. His cock hung thick and heavy, and the way her eyes briefly flicked downward before returning to his face sent a shiver of heat through the air. Gods... even limp it looks monstrous,
Seraphine thought, her thighs pressing together unconsciously. And I want it inside me again.
They stepped beneath the cascade of water together. The warmth enveloped them, soaking their hair, sliding over bare skin, and carrying the last remnants of battle away. Leon reached for a bar of soap, but when Seraphine's hand brushed his, they both froze.
For a heartbeat, neither moved. The sound of falling water filled the silence, but it was drowned out by the way their eyes locked—silver into amethyst.
The tension snapped.
Leon dropped the soap and pulled her close, his lips crashing against hers. Their kiss was hungry, desperate, as if the long day had finally pushed them past restraint. Seraphine melted into him, arms winding around his neck, pressing her wet body flush against his. I need him... I don't care how exhausted I am—I need him right now.
The water coursed over them, but neither noticed. Their mouths moved with urgency, tongues tangling, soft moans echoing off the stone walls. Leon's hands roamed her slick skin, gripping her waist, sliding down to her hips. Seraphine gasped into the kiss, then kissed him harder, her fingers tangling in his dripping hair.
"My husband..." she whispered breathlessly between kisses.
Leon smirked, lips brushing her ear before he kissed her neck. "My wife."
Her body trembled under his touch, every nerve alive. Their kiss deepened again, wetter and more desperate, their breathing ragged. The shower washed over them as if blessing their union. Still, inside the mist, the world had already narrowed to just the two of them—bare, vulnerable, and utterly consumed by each other.
The kiss broke at last, both of them panting, foreheads pressed together, water cascading down their flushed skin. Seraphine's gaze dropped, and her breath caught when she felt it—his cock, thick and heavy, pressing insistently against her stomach.
She slid her hands down, wrapping both around the shaft. Even with both palms, she could barely circle its girth. The sheer weight of it throbbed against her touch, veins pulsing under her fingers. It's so big... it feels alive.
Her eyes widened slightly, lips parting. "It's... bigger than before," she whispered, half in awe, half in disbelief.
For an instant, there was a flicker of hesitation—a shadow of fear at how his length and thickness dwarfed her delicate hands. How could I possibly take this? Will it even fit? But it was gone as quickly as it came, replaced by a glimmer of excitement, of hunger. No—I want to try. I want to please him. I want him to see how much I love him.
When her amethyst eyes lifted back to his, the hesitation was gone. Only desire remained.
Without another word, she sank slowly to her knees, the water streaming down her back as she brought his cock level with her lips. She stroked him with both hands, her fingers sliding up and down his slick shaft. The heat radiating from him made her thighs clench together. It's heavy... it doesn't even fit in my grip... gods, Leon, what are you doing to me?
Leon smirked faintly, watching her. "Go on, my wife."
Her breath trembled as she leaned in and pressed a kiss against the swollen tip. His cock twitched in her grip, and she let out a soft, almost reverent sound. Then her tongue flicked out, tasting the bead of pre-cum at the slit before she wrapped her lips around the head.
Slrp... mmph...
Her mouth stretched wide as she began to work him in, inch by inch, her hands stroking what her lips couldn't manage. Drool and water mixed, dripping down his length, her cheeks hollowing as she sucked harder.
Leon groaned above her, one hand resting on her wet hair, guiding her movements. Her lips are like fire... warm, soft, perfect. She's learning so quickly. "That's it... You're perfect."
Seraphine moaned around him, her eyes fluttering shut as she pushed herself deeper, her throat tightening around his veiny, pulsating cock. She gagged softly but didn't stop—instead pulling back with a wet pop, gasping for breath, then diving in again with more determination, lust burning in her eyes. I can do this... I want to take him deeper. Even if I choke, I want to feel all of him.
Seraphine was dying to feel his warmth inside her.
Her hands squeezed and stroked, her mouth worked hungrily, and the sounds of her messy sucking echoed with the rush of falling water. Every time she looked up at him, her face was flushed with both devotion and need.
Leon's hand stayed on the back of her head, fingers tangled in her wet lavender hair, guiding her movements with steady patience.
"Slowly... good... just like that," he murmured, his voice low and commanding over the sound of the rushing water. "Take as much as you can, and use your hands for the rest."
Seraphine obeyed, her lips stretched wide around the thick crown of his cock, her tongue swirling while her hands stroked the veiny shaft she couldn't fit inside her mouth. The size of him was overwhelming—long, thick, pulsing with every beat of his heart—but she was determined. It's too much... but I won't give up. Not for him. Never for him.
Her eyes fluttered, cheeks hollowing as she sucked, drool spilling down her chin and mixing with the shower water. Her hands moved in rhythm with her mouth, stroking what her throat couldn't handle, keeping the entire length slick and hot.
Leon groaned, his abs tightening as her eager devotion pushed him closer. "That's it, my wife... stroke me while you suck. Don't stop until I give it to you."
Slrp... glck... mmph...
She moaned softly, the sound vibrating along his shaft, making him twitch in her hands. He guided her pace—sometimes pushing her deeper until she gagged around the tip, then pulling her back to let her breathe before urging her down again. The sight of her flushed face, amethyst eyes glazed with lust, lips wrapped around his cock while her hands worked his length, made his breath grow ragged. She looks divine like this. My wife... my Seraphine. I could watch her worship me forever.
His control began to slip.
"Seraphine..." he groaned, tightening his grip in her hair. "I'm going to cum. Keep your mouth on me."
She looked up at him, nodding faintly with his cock still between her lips, and sucked harder, stroking him faster with both hands. Yes—please... give it to me. I want all of you, my husband. Fill my mouth.
That was enough.
With a sharp grunt, Leon's release hit. Thick ropes of hot semen spurted into her mouth, coating her tongue and throat.
Seraphine tried to swallow—gulp, gulp—but his load was too much, too heavy, too sudden. It spilled past her lips, dripping from the corners of her mouth, streaking down her chin onto her breasts.
She pulled back with a wet pop, gasping for air, her lips still wrapped around the head as the last spurts painted her tongue.
"Ahhh... hahh..." She swallowed again, managing some of it, but more of his seed leaked out, trailing down her throat and mixing with the shower water. I couldn't take it all... gods, it's so much. But the taste... his warmth... it feels like I belong to him completely.
Her chest rose and fell quickly, her face messy, eyes half-lidded with lust.
Leon looked down at her, satisfaction in his voice. "You tried... that's good enough. You look beautiful like this."
Seraphine flushed, licking her lips shakily, her hands still wrapped around the base of his cock as if she couldn't bear to let go. He thinks I'm beautiful... even like this. Then I'll do better for him next time. I'll take all of him.
"I'll do better next time," she whispered softly, devotion clear even through her exhaustion.

Chapter 438: A Mistake Called Underestimating
Daniel turned his head with a sharp frown, and what he saw behind him shocked him. But the next moment, he forced himself to calm down.
"Looks like I really underestimated a False Divine Climber," he muttered. But the archbishop standing alive and well in front of him clearly heard it.
"It's not your fault. I just enjoy playing with my prey before I hunt them down. But you're really a fool... did you truly think the gap between a Grand Climber and a Divine Climber was that small?" the archbishop mocked.
"I must admit, you really are the strongest young man I've ever seen. Even a normal Half Divine Climber wouldn't be able to face you.
"But me? I am a False Divine Climber, and I've touched and experienced that rank and that level of power. My dimensions of existence are far above yours. That's not something you can make up for with talent." His tone grew even more mocking and playful.
Daniel didn't say anything. He really had underestimated his opponent. But it was understandable—he had never faced a False S-rank before.
(For clarity: S-rank = Divine Climber.)
Now he realized the immense difference between them. This wasn't something that could be solved just with talent and powerful items.
"Now, [Infidel], it's time for you to be punished." The archbishop raised his hand, and an enormous surge of corruption erupted.
Before Daniel even had a chance to react, it felt like the world lost all color, and a terrifying force slammed him into the mountains.
The mountains cracked open. Blood covered his body, his bones were shattered, and even his vision dimmed.
The archbishop took a step and appeared right before him.
Daniel was on his knees; his armor torn, his body broken and bruised, his breathing ragged—closer to death than ever before.
His armor, already badly damaged, was now truly destroyed. Something he had never expected. Blood dripped from his eyes, and he no longer even had the strength to hold his weapon.
The archbishop looked down at him coldly, his expression full of mockery.
"What a pathetic struggle, [Infidel].
"You've learned how to fight... but you still haven't learned how to accept defeat. Now it's time for you to return to the embrace of death." His voice was soft yet thunderous, each word steeped in contempt.
He raised his staff and casually drew a hand across the air.
An energy blacker and heavier than anything seen before condensed, like rusted wheels grinding together.
With just a tap of his staff—no grand effort, not even a shout—a wave shot forth, a straight line of absolute corruption through space.
[Final Excommunication]
An absolute command of corruption that disrupted the very core of life. It ignored defenses; even the best armor would shatter with a single touch.
It struck.
Daniel's burning mana armor completely disintegrated into ash, and his clothes fell apart like paper under corrosive rain. He rolled across the ground, the weight of death swallowing him whole.
He couldn't get up. He couldn't even make a sound—only managed one faint glance.
The archbishop bent forward, calm and assured, staring at him with contempt.
"Now is the time for death and judgment." His words dropped like a sermon, his voice echoing in Daniel's head.
And then, without further nonsense, he delivered the final blow—a short, precise, unavoidable strike that brought Daniel down.
Daniel collapsed, motionless. His breath stopped; the world dimmed for a moment. His body looked lifeless.
Certain that he had finally killed this young man, the archbishop turned away and looked over the corpses of the other Corruption Worshipers. Their deaths were a waste, but there was nothing to be done.
He cast one last glance at Daniel. Despite the [Infidel] curse, it was only a level three curse, not worth anything to him.
If it had been a higher-level [Infidel] curse, he might have carried the corpse to the central headquarters for a reward.
He left, stepping into the sky, ready to head to the central base and give his report.
But then, a sound—a faint sigh—rose from the bloody ground.
[Player has been killed.]
[One extra life has been successfully used.]
[Please select one of your Fallen to be erased.]
Suddenly, Daniel's body was fully restored, and the breath of life returned to him. His strength and energy instantly surged back to their peak.
The archbishop turned—at first slowly, then with a face twisted in shock, anger, and disbelief.
"How...?" His words faltered, his staff trembling. This resurrection shattered a piece of his mental order.
"I didn't want to use it... but I have no choice." Daniel sighed. He realized that with normal methods, he had no chance of defeating this archbishop.
His only option was to use one of his trump cards.
He placed his hand on the blade of The Heaven's Honor and then vanished, rising to his feet.
[Self Transcendent]
The moment the skill activated, a subtle but piercing wave radiated from Daniel. Suddenly, an image of a long river of time appeared, and from it a massive force erupted and entered his body.
His power skyrocketed, and his rank rose to Half Step S-rank. A tremendous amount of energy flowed through him.
It wasn't just his combat strength—it was his raw rank itself that had reached that level. And because of that, his combat power grew explosively, far beyond a False S-rank.
Now, he truly was the strongest existence beneath S-rank. But only temporarily.
His aura changed, becoming more majestic and awe-inspiring. He felt like he could split mountains or part oceans with a flick of his finger.
The ground beneath the archbishop cracked—not from physical power, but from the existential rift Daniel had created.
The archbishop, who had moments ago thought himself superior, now clearly felt danger. He was no longer the same.
Fear—the raw, undeniable sense of death—appeared in his eyes, something he had never felt before.
Daniel took a step and appeared in front of him. Space itself bent and cleared the way. For the first time, endless fear appeared in the archbishop's eyes.
"This is your end," Daniel said, calmly but with absolute certainty.
[Eternal Judgement]
The sky turned crimson, and a blood-red sword formed in the heavens. The surrounding space trembled, on the verge of collapse.
The archbishop screamed, instantly summoning his final shield, but this time his hands trembled and his eyes were full of terror. He tried to create a wall of corruption with [Abyssal Citadel], but against Daniel's power, it shattered like paper.
The sword struck, piercing a massive hole through him. The archbishop's body broke apart, looking ready to collapse completely.
"You human Infidel, I curse you! I curse you to die a horrible death!" With the last of his power, he strengthened Daniel's curse, raising it to level six.
His breath faded. The eyes that once held arrogance and power were now empty and afraid. He staggered—one half-step closer to death, and that was enough.
Daniel pointed his bloody sword and struck again, slicing the archbishop in half.
The body fell, and slowly the soul dissolved, annihilated. Until his last moment, he never understood how this young man had suddenly become so much stronger.
Daniel stepped back, breathing heavily, pulling the sword free from the fading corpse.
"It's over." He lowered his head and let out a sigh of relief.

Chapter 439: Side Effects
After making sure that the Arch Bishop was finally dead, he let out a sigh of relief and collapsed onto the ground. His body hurt terribly.
Every single muscle had weakened and lost its strength, several bones were broken, and many others were cracked.
However, in less than a moment he fully recovered, all his wounds healed. Of course, they weren't actual wounds—it was just the side effects of using [Self Transcendent].
Now, only mental exhaustion remained. This could be considered the hardest battle of his life. He never thought he would feel so helpless against just one person.
If it hadn't been for his trump card, he would definitely have died here today. Even thinking about that was terrifying. Still, he wasn't really worried.
From the moment he came here to destroy this mountain, he had prepared himself and even considered the possibility of facing an S Rank.
He had two trump cards that were the source of his greatest confidence. He didn't know their exact limits, but he was sure that even if he had to face an S Rank, it wouldn't be a problem.
One of them was, of course, [Self Transcendent]—a skill that allowed him to borrow power from his past and future self. With this skill, his rank would temporarily rise to the peak of what his body could handle.
And then there was his most important trump card: [Fallen Will], a truly cheating skill and his greatest source of confidence.
He didn't know its limits or even how it really worked. He had no idea what happened to him when it activated. He had a few guesses, but they were just guesses.
One thing he was sure about, though: when he activated this skill, he felt like he completely turned into another existence—an exalted, superior being standing above all worlds.
He could look at all creation with disdain, everything appearing no different from insects. He felt like he could rewrite reality itself, reverse time and space however he pleased.
But was this feeling real? Even he didn't know. When he activated the skill, he felt infinite power surge into his body, yet he couldn't actually use it.
It was as if that power was far beyond him or anything else. Only a very small portion of it became accessible to him.
That was why he was sure that [Fallen Will] was his strongest and most important trump card. A long time had passed since the last time he used it, and fortunately, it was available again.
The reason he didn't use it now was because he felt using it against a False S Rank would be a waste. He preferred to save it for the future, when he would face a stronger enemy.
He pushed those thoughts aside and slowly stood up. He still had a few minutes left before [Self Transcendent] ended—he might as well make use of it.
His gaze fell on the Arch Bishop's corpse. He let a single drop of his blood fall onto it.
[Creating a Fallen one...]
Suddenly, a purple light descended from the sky and covered the Arch Bishop's entire body. In less than a few minutes, the body transformed and revealed its new form.
As expected, two purple wings appeared behind him. His skin had turned pitch black with glowing purple veins running across it.
His eyes now resembled a galaxy full of countless colors.
[Please choose a name for your Fallen one.]
"Zaimorn." Daniel didn't think too hard and randomly picked a name.
[A new Fallen one has been successfully created.]
[You have obtained 10% of his stats.]
[Please choose either one of his skills to copy or 10% of his Exp.]
"Glory to my Lord." Zaimorn kneeled respectfully.
Daniel also felt a new power flowing into his body, and it was very noticeable. On top of that, because he had killed the Arch Bishop and the other Corruption Worshipers, he had gained a large amount of Exp. Now he was at the peak of Rank B.
He moved toward the rest of the Corruption Worshipers. When he looked at them, he hesitated for a moment. He could either devour them or turn them into Fallen ones.
With Zaimorn, he had no doubts—turning him into a Fallen one was clearly the better choice, giving him far more benefits.
In the end, he sighed and decided to devour half of the Rank A's and turn the other half into Fallen ones. The same applied to the remaining Corruption Worshipers.
He devoured 80% of the Rank B's and turned the rest into Fallen ones. As for any Corruption Worshiper below Rank B... he simply devoured them. They weren't worth turning.
After that, his stomach became like a devouring black hole, swallowing half of the Rank A Corruption Worshipers, 80% of the Rank B, and all of those below Rank B.
[Your physical strength has increased.]
[Your physical strength has increased significantly.]
[Your physical strength has increased.]
Every time he devoured one of them, a notification popped up before him. It didn't take long before he had devoured all those who needed to be devoured.
Afterward, he dropped a single drop of blood onto the rest, turning them into Fallen ones.
When he looked at Zaimorn and the large number of Rank A and Rank B Fallen ones kneeling respectfully before him, a smile appeared on his face.
Even just the monstrous, terrifying aura radiating from his body showed how ridiculously his strength had increased.
He could now feel that if he faced the Arch Bishop of Corruption again, he wouldn't be as cornered as before. He could actually fight.
Victory, though? Impossible. Without [Self Transcendent], he still had no chance of winning.
And speaking of [Self Transcendent], he suddenly felt his rank dropping sharply—from Half Step S Rank all the way down to the peak of Rank B.
His expression instantly weakened, and his aura dropped drastically from something that could crush space-time into something far weaker.
He let out a sigh, because he knew this would happen. Then he looked at the notifications.
[The time for using the skill Self Transcendent has ended.]
[Side effect: For one month, you cannot use any of your offensive or defensive skills.]
[Additional side effect: The use of Law power will not be possible for one month.]

Chapter 440: They Are The Same Person
Daniel even for a moment thought he had misread the announcements, but after checking again he was sure he hadn't.
He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. For a full month he wouldn't be able to use one of his Laws along with either his defensive or offensive skill.
Didn't this basically mean he was crippled? And since when were there side effects like this? Wasn't it supposed to only be the usual usage backlash?
He wanted to cry but had no tears. If he had known such side effects existed, maybe instead of winning he should've just run away.
His Fallen, seeing their master looking angry, trembled in fear. The next moment, before they could react, they were suddenly unsummoned and pulled back into the spiritual sea.
Daniel let out a sigh. Even though things had ended up like this, he wasn't really regretful. He had only come here for recording purposes, but he had gained a ton of unexpected benefits.
Not only did he acquire a large number of Fallen, but his physical power had also skyrocketed. His current self was at least ten times stronger than his self just five hours ago—when he first entered the battle with the Archbishop.
On top of that, he had also obtained a lot of new skills. He hadn't copied them yet, but when he got some free time he would definitely check the panel of his new Fallen.
Surely, he should be able to find a lot of useful skills there, right?
And most importantly of all, he had acquired a False S-rank Fallen! Such an existence was a true powerhouse. Wherever he went, people would have to treat him with respect.
His army of Fallen had now reached a very high level of power, and with such an army he could even establish a guild of his own.
Of course, he had no such plans. His current goal was to establish an intelligence and spy organization instead.
Then his eyes turned to the other announcements. Most of them were about the Exp he had gained, and one showed that his [Infidel] curse had grown stronger and reached level 6.
He frowned slightly. His intuition told him that he had entered a very dangerous situation, but he didn't know exactly what it meant. Because of that, he would have to investigate it later.
Closing the notification screen, he flew toward the Corruption Worshipers' base. Even though it looked destroyed, he was sure part of it was still intact.
The part he had intentionally left untouched. Without delay, he entered the collapsed mountain. Using mana, he cleared the way and soon reached underground, standing in front of a massive door.
It was exactly like the treasury doors he had seen in another Corruption Worshipers' base. Without wasting time, he used his strength to open it and grinned at the sight of all the gold coins, items, and treasures inside.
Without hesitation, he dumped them all into his inventory, leaving behind nothing but dust. Then he returned to the surface.
He pulled his ship out of his inventory and tossed it into the air. The next moment it expanded into a massive vessel. He boarded it and set course toward the Central Plains.
"If I'm not wrong, it should be a one-day trip to the Central Plains," he thought. He didn't plan on stopping anywhere to rest or anything like that.
It was finally time to return home.
....
While he was heading back to the Central Plains, he had no idea that his actions had already thrown the Corruption Worshipers' central headquarters into chaos.
Just a few days ago, one of their bases had been completely destroyed, causing them to lose all influence over the Lionheart family.
The high-ranking members of the Corruption Worshipers were furious, but since their exposure had drawn too much attention, they had been forced to drop the matter for now.
And now, not long after, they had received news that another one of their bases had been destroyed. And not just any base—but one of their border outposts.
Their border outposts were extremely important. With them, they could constantly monitor the status of borders between continents and also control intercontinental trade.
That was why they always placed an Archbishop in charge of those border bases. And now word had come that one of them was gone.
At the moment, in the Corruption Worshipers' central headquarters, located in an unknown and hidden place deep underground, a meeting was being held.
"Which bastard dared to destroy one of our border bases?!" a rough, killing-intent-filled voice roared.
As the voice echoed, the atmosphere in the room turned heavy and cold. Still, the others didn't seem to care much.
"Calm down. Being angry won't change anything," one of the cardinals said lazily.
"Easy for you to say, bastard. After all, the Pope never punishes you. But us? If the Pope finds out, we'll be severely punished!" the cardinal who had shouted earlier growled.
"Hmph, better watch your mouth!"
"Or else?"
"That's enough. We need to figure out who's responsible, not fight among ourselves." Suddenly an old voice silenced them both.
The other cardinals in the room looked at this man with respect.
The old cardinal smiled at the sight, then turned his eyes to a particular cardinal—a woman who was in charge of intelligence and investigations.
"According to our findings, the one who destroyed one of our bases a few days ago and the one who destroyed today's border base are the same person," the woman explained respectfully after seeing the old cardinal's signal.
"What? A single bastard destroyed two of our bases?"
"Who is this bastard? We must capture him immediately and put him through the worst tortures imaginable!"
"We couldn't determine his identity precisely," the woman said with some frustration.
"Then how do you know it's the same person?"
"Through the [Infidel] curse. The curse always leaves behind a trace, and we found that the remnants left at both destroyed bases were identical. Also, there were no corpses of our comrades in either base—it seems they've disappeared."
At once, all the cardinals frowned, feeling a strong sense of unease.
"Find this person. Since he bears the curse, he shouldn't be able to hide for long. Once you locate him, you and your subordinates will go deal with him directly," the old cardinal said calmly.
The woman nodded, and soon after, everyone left the room. The old cardinal then closed his eyes and let out a sigh.
"The situation isn't looking good for us Corruption Worshipers. The Pope is injured, two of our bases have been destroyed, and countless of us have died. Could it be that our destiny is reaching its end?"
But suddenly, as if recalling something, he opened his eyes. A gleam of light shone within them, and his hope returned.
"As long as our plan succeeds, as long as we can release one of those four... corruption will swallow the entire world, and we will be victorious."
"Hahaha!"

Chapter 335: The Anal Slut's Move
Luna slowly broke the kiss. Her lips departed from his with a soft sigh, but her purple eyes lingered on him, shimmering with an affection she rarely let even him see without the others around, with the two of them wrapped beneath the same blanket, and seeing how strangely vulnerable her man was, even the snarky gamer girl couldn't help herself from entering 'tender girlfriend' mode.
Her hands rose to cup his face, thumbs brushing along his cheeks with loving strokes. "You look so tired, Kai..." she murmured gently.
Kaiden nodded with the corners of his mouth tugging down. "It's been a hectic week," he admitted. "If things don't change soon... I'm worried morale will get worse."
Luna chuckled lightly at that, pinching his cheeks until his face scrunched. "You're thinking way too little of us. We're here for the good and the bad, dummy. All of us knew it wasn't going to be sunshine and rainbows from the start."
Kaiden exhaled slowly, then his eyes softened as he nodded again. "I know how serious all of you are... but that doesn't mean we're immune to emotions when nearly the whole world throws insults at us."
Instead of frowning, Luna laughed outright and leaned forward, planting a tender kiss on his forehead. "Big dummy," she said with a grin. "The world can hate us all they want; it doesn't matter. And besides, our numbers are up. We should be thanking that fat pig for giving us a bigger audience."
Kaiden couldn't help but chuckle dryly at her playful optimism. His hand ventured to squeeze her perky butt as if her cheeks were made for stress relief. "Not exactly the kind of audience I wanted to garner."
Luna smirked in response, eyes closing for a bit with warmth as she leaned her forehead to his. "Things will work out, Kai. Trust me. Besides, the anal slut and yandere princess have already begun making their move."
...
Alexandra wiped the last trace of gloss from her pale lips while staring into the vanity mirror with that same cold expression the audience came to know and adore her for. A perfect porcelain doll with long lashes, flawless skin, lush blonde hair, and a look that made men ache while knowing she'd never truly see them. The set reeked faintly of sweat, perfume, and disinfectant, but she sat in the cosmetic room, where she didn't have to deal with it thankfully.
"Alexandra," the director called from behind. His voice carried that grating blend of irritation, "the ice princess act is selling, don't get me wrong, but if you could show some emotion, at least a modicum of it, the fans would eat it up. Really, try to look like you're enjoying it."
She didn't answer. Her brush traced along her cheekbone, steady and practiced. When she finally capped her lipstick and rose, it was with the poise of royalty. The man was still talking, his words growing tighter as she walked right past him, not sparing a glance. "Where are you going?!" He shouted angrily, but got ignored..
Out in the corridor, Alexandra pulled out her phone, its sleek black screen lit up with her schedule. Her eyes skimmed the lines. Break: thirty minutes. Second recording: confirmed. She sighed, exhaling through her nose. It was already night, but the machine of ChronosX never slept, and neither did its top assets.
Reaching into her clutch, she retrieved a small glass vial. Inside, the liquid glowed green. It was a stamina enhancer, mandatory to take before shoots. A concoction brewed by ChronosX's research division, made from dungeon-harvested materials that twisted human limits to make the films even more profitable. She tilted her head back and drank, feeling the bitter tang clinging to her tongue.
When she stepped outside, a black taxi was waiting by the curb. The driver didn't even look at her. No question of destination was needed; her path was decided the moment Maximilian had signed her life away. On "breaks," she might film commercials, smile for boardroom parasites, or warm the laps of politicians her master wished to court. It was all the same, just another performance.
Alexandra slid into the backseat, smoothing her skirt over her thighs. But just as she settled, something fluttered against her hand. A small paper, folded once, slipped down from above.
Her brows furrowed. She lifted it delicately before unfolding the note between fingers trained never to tremble. The handwriting was hurried, consisting of sharp strokes across the surface.
Her eyes scanned the words once, then twice.
And for the first time in years, Alexandra's breath caught. The ice in her gaze threatened to melt, widening into something raw, something dangerous.
Alexandra's eyes traced the curves and sharp edges of the handwriting as her pulse stuttered. She knew these letters. Every curl, every flourish. They belonged to the girl she had spent her entire childhood with. Her best friend. The one person who had once made her world feel like it was full of fun and joy.
Nyx Cosmos.
The message itself was cryptic:
"Start walking back."
Her grip tightened around the thin slip of paper. Why now? After all these years, after the chains of Maximilian and the hollow years in ChronosX, why did Nyx reach for her now? What could she possibly want?
Her heart thudded in her chest as she leaned forward. "I... need the toilet," she murmured to the driver. Her voice was as cold as ever, successfully masking the tremor in her chest.
The man grunted without looking at her. "Hurry up. Time is money."
The door clicked open, and Alexandra stepped out into the cool night air. Once the car was behind her, her mask cracked. Her breathing quickened, her hands clutched the folded paper as if it were a lifeline.
She began to walk. No direction. No destination. Just forward, because that's what the note demanded. Every step echoed louder in her ears as her heels struck the pavement. It sounded like a countdown she couldn't control.
Then something brushed her wrist. A faint flutter, almost playful. A second paper had slipped down in front of her.
She opened it quickly.
"I don't know where to find something nice..."
Her breath caught. That was their code. Their private phrase, whispered a hundred times in their youth, whenever one of them felt lost. The answer had always been the same: "Then follow me."
Considering that she didn't know where to follow her, the note made little sense. It was ensured to be cryptic in case someone other than her got their hands on it. But because of the lack of sense it made, Alexandra knew for sure she was dealing with Nyx now.
Trusting that her pink-haired friend was on top of the situation, she just kept walking forward while her chest heaved as anticipation and fear collided. And then...
There she was.
Under the soft glow of a streetlamp stood Nyx Cosmos, smiling with that same mischievous light that had once been her compass through childhood. Her arms spread wide, playful, inviting, as if nothing had ever changed.
"Welcome back, bestie," Nyx said, her voice warm and teasing. "It's so good to see you again."

Chapter 336: Alexandra's Chains
Alexandra froze. Her lips parted just before her whole body trembled in a way the ice princess mask had never allowed. Then, finally, her feet carried her forward, straight into the embrace of her long-lost best friend.
Alexandra's arms tightened with sudden desperation, pulling Nyx closer as her cheek pressed into the curve of her shoulder. The carefully painted mask of the ice princess shattered the instant familiar warmth touched her. Tears welled in her eyes before she could even stop them, spilling hot and fast, staining the perfect makeup she had retouched just minutes ago.
Nyx hugged her tighter, refusing to let go. Her voice dropped low, soft enough that only Alexandra could hear. "How are you holding up, Lexi?"
A ragged breath escaped Alexandra's lips, trembling. "I'm... just perfect. Contemplating death every waking second," she whispered, the words almost inaudible. "But I can't. My parents... they're old. They rely on this money. If I die, they'll suffer a miserable end to their lives, and they deserve much better."
Nyx's arms stiffened around her, and she let out a long, heavy sigh. "You have my utmost admiration."
Alexandra blinked against her tears, pulling back just enough to look at her. "Admiration? You hated me for bending the knee to Maximilian..."
Nyx was quick to nod. "I didn't like your decision, but I understand it. In fact... it might've been the best one."
A dry, broken laugh slipped from Alexandra's throat. "You can't be serious."
But Nyx only nodded. "I am. I was the one who refused to bend. Do you know how I managed to turn things around? Pure dumb luck. If not for that, I was already signing up to film porn with some sleazy back-alley studio. My life would've been ruined all the same. But you... You accepted our harsh reality for what it was instead of clinging to your dreams and chose the path where your suffering at least brought you the most benefits. You made the decision of a responsible adult while I kept chasing the impossible."
For a while, Alexandra said nothing. Just the soft sound of her uneven breathing could be heard as she tried to steady herself. Then, finally, she murmured with a small, almost teasing giggle, "Well, it seems you were right to dream. I saw you got a new boyfriend. He's... really handsome."
"Hehe!" Nyx laughed with her as her eyes softened even further, turning tender at the mention of him. "Yeah. Kaiden. He's my savior and the love of my life."
Alexandra's lips curved into a fragile smile as she released a long sigh. Her voice was quieter now, the melancholy in it unmistakable. "I wish you two good luck... you're already making Maximilian lose his hair. I hope with every fiber of my being that you win."
At that, Nyx's expression shifted. Her eyes darkened, losing the playful glint. Her grip on Alexandra's shoulders tightened as she leaned close, her voice sharpening into a dangerous whisper.
"Do you desire revenge, Lexi?"
Alexandra's eyes widened at Nyx's question. A raw, unguarded spark flashed across them. For one instant, she looked hungry for it; revenge, freedom, even the faintest idea of striking back. But just as quickly, the fire dimmed. She exhaled shakily with her shoulders drooping. The weight of chains was invisible but crushing.
"I... I can't," she whispered. "If I dare bare my fangs at Maximilian, I'll be totally ruined. No one wants a dog who barks at her owner."
Nyx's lips twisted into a scornful smirk. "A dog whose owner is a sadistic, abusive man has every right to bark in defiance."
The sharpness of the metaphor actually made Alexandra let out a wet little laugh, half-broken and half-amused. "Hah... maybe. But you don't understand, Nyx. I really can't. Maximilian made sure of it. I signed stacks of contracts. Non-disclosures, loyalty clauses, morality clauses. If I even hint at disobedience, the lawsuits alone will bury me in millions of debt." Her eyes turned hollow for a moment before she added, "... And jail isn't off the table either. He has the connections to twist anything into a criminal charge if it suits him."
Nyx's expression remained sharp. "You're not alone in this, Lexi. Have you seen our stream numbers? Valhalla's Sinners are pulling in serious money every single day. If Maximilian sues you, we can cover it. Easily. Instead of a public defender, you'll have a team of the most competent men and women fighting for your victory."
Then, her already dark eyes became outright ominous, shining with a hostile pink light. "And more importantly... my man might look all benevolent on stream, laughing, bantering, making everyone feel safe. But he's not. Kaiden is a violent man who already has human blood on his hands, and he is a killer who holds grudges like no other. Ever since he learned my backstory, Maximilian's been a dead man walking. Kai just isn't strong enough yet to make good on it. But by the time you'd ever risk jail... Maximilian will have ceased to exist."
Alexandra froze. Human blood? That guy with the devilishly warm smile?
If there was one thing she understood, it would have to be just how badly she wanted to jump ship. Just the idea of seeing the man titled Blood Knight beat the life out of Maximilian made her heart flutter in joy. But still... the risk. The danger. The cost.
"... There's no free meal in life, is there?" she asked.
Nyx smiled gingerly as she nodded in response. "We'd help you either way, you know that. But we could really use your help right now."
She extended her hand, palm open between them. "Help us take Maximilian down, Alexandra. I'm begging you."
Alexandra's breath caught. Her gaze flicked to Nyx's outstretched hand. For a second, her body didn't move, caught between fear and longing. But her heart screamed louder, screaming at her to grab hold, to finally choose.
Her hand trembled as she looked into Nyx's burning pink eyes. "Only on one condition..." she whispered. "If something happens to me, you take care of my parents. Promise me that."
Nyx's grin widened into a radiant, victorious smile. "Welcome aboard."
Their hands clasped tight.
