The area was noticeably quieter, the bustling sounds of merchants and hagglers fading into silence. Orion glanced curiously at the increasingly isolated surroundings.
Lucan finally stopped the carriage near a discreet building with a shabby appearance. "We're here," he said, hopping down from his seat.
Orion stepped out, surveying the modest entrance calmly. "Is the slave market hidden here?"
Edgar nodded appreciatively, feeling proud of Orion's insight. "That is correct, Young Master."
Lucan reached into a hidden compartment under the carriage seat, producing three simple yet intricate masks. "You'll need to wear these," he said, handing them out. "We don't want to attract unnecessary attention."
Orion examined the mask carefully. Crafted from a sturdy material, it was adorned with subtle runes designed to obscure one's identity. He placed the mask over his face, immediately feeling a strange but gentle aura envelop him.
"How do I look?" Orion asked, voice slightly distorted by the mask.
Edgar smiled behind his own mask. "Unrecognizable, Young Master."
Lucan motioned toward the inconspicuous door. "Follow me."
They stepped through the narrow entrance, descending a dimly lit staircase into a subterranean passageway. The air grew cooler, and the murmur of distant voices gradually grew louder, signaling their approach to the hidden underground market.
After navigating several winding corridors, they emerged into a bustling, expansive underground chamber illuminated by flickering mana lamps.
The air buzzed with malevolent energy, merchants and customers moving about discreetly. Various stalls lined the walls, offering everything from exotic potions to prohibited magical artifacts and stolen goods.
"Welcome to the dark side of Stormspire," Edgar whispered softly, amusement evident in his tone.
Orion observed the scene, curiosity heightened. "Why does the kingdom allow this place to exist? Isn't it risky to tolerate something so clearly illicit?"
Edgar sighed lightly, guiding Orion forward. "It's a matter of practicality, Young Master. The kingdom allows this underground market as a controlled environment. Better to have illegal activities centralized and closely monitored than scattered and hidden throughout the kingdom."
"In other words, keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" Orion remarked thoughtfully.
"Exactly," Edgar affirmed with a nod. "By allowing this controlled space, the kingdom keeps tabs on criminal activities, reducing the risk of unchecked chaos."
Lucan cheerfully interjected, "And it's profitable too. The kingdom gets a tidy sum from taxes and bribes."
Edgar chuckled softly. "Well, there is that as well."
Orion shook his head in mild disbelief, but couldn't deny the logic behind it.
"Cough, Young Master, how will we explain you buying a slave to Master and Lady Selene?" Lucan rubbed the back of his head and asked.
Orion rubbed his forehead. "Haa… we'll think about it after I've found her. Otherwise, all of it will be for naught."
His gaze shifted toward one side of the place—a massive slave market occupying the right side section of the underground space.
Rows of cages lined the wide-open area, each filled with beings from various races. Slave masters shouted advertisements, eager to draw the attention of passing customers. The scene was chaotic, noisy, and unsettlingly lively.
They slowly walked among the cages, observing the diverse array of slaves on display.
Orion saw humans huddled quietly, their faces blank or fearful. 'Human slaves, huh… well, I expected them to be here.' He inwardly shook his head. He had mentally prepared himself for stuff like this, but it still left a bad taste in his mouth.
[Will you free them, Master?]
He lightly shook his head. 'I'm no righteous warrior. Even if I try to liberate the slaves here, another market will get opened somewhere else. And markets such as this exist in all cities and kingdoms… and probably even empires.'
'And for some reason, I don't feel as… adverse to this as I had expected?' he wondered.
[Maybe due to the Inheritance of the True Dragons, Master. It will influence you, even if subtly.]
'That's why I asked Echo to give me my perfect emotions, but looks like time really is merciless.'
He continued to look ahead, and nearby, sturdy dwarves scowled defiantly from their confinement, eyes burning with pride despite the chains all over their bodies.
Further along were the beastkin—foxkin with sly gazes, lionkin standing tall and defiant, bearkin glaring menacingly, wolvekin pacing restlessly, catkin and tigerkin watching cautiously, and others.
Each displayed unique features, their strength and agility clearly evident despite their captivity.
Orion paused briefly by a cage holding several foxkin. Their eyes were sharp, intelligent, cautiously assessing potential buyers. "These foxkin seem quite composed," Orion commented softly.
"Foxkin are known for their sharp minds and adaptability," Edgar explained quietly. "They make highly sought-after slaves, especially for administrative or diplomatic roles… and some other private reasons."
Orion chuckled and nodded, understanding why their vendor was enthusiastically advertising their intelligence, loyalty, and beauty.
Continuing through the market, they encountered stalls holding gnomes meticulously tinkering with small gadgets, even while confined.
Pixies fluttered restlessly within glass enclosures, their delicate wings glowing faintly.
Minotaurs walked around in their large cages, their muscles on the verge of ripping from aggression. Their eyes held fierce defiance, unbroken despite their captivity. Centaurs stood stoically, their dignity untouched even as customers scrutinized them closely.
A section dedicated to lamia drew considerable attention from the buyers, their serpentine bodies and exotic beauty mesmerizing passersby. Harpies, confined within tall cages, shifted restlessly, feathers ruffled with agitation.
As Orion observed the diverse array, he felt a strange mixture of fascination and discomfort.
The sight was starkly different from the luxurious streets of Stormspire, presenting a darker aspect of the world.
"Why are some of these slaves Awakeners?" Orion asked Edgar, noticing powerful auras emanating from certain individuals.
Edgar nodded gravely. "Many Awakeners end up captured during wars or skirmishes after they are injured, their strength making them particularly valuable as bodyguards, gladiators, or even laborers in harsh environments. Their presence significantly raises the price of any sale."
Orion considered this silently, absorbing the harsh reality.
Moving deeper into the slave market, Orion and Edgar scanned for any sign of the elf described by his system quest.
Orion activated his Eye of Revelation occasionally, carefully evaluating each potential candidate. However, due to his limited rank, the details on stronger or magically concealed individuals remained frustratingly elusive.
At one stall, a gruff-looking vendor enthusiastically promoted a delicate-looking elf with silvery hair and pale skin. Her green eyes flashed briefly toward Orion, holding a fleeting spark of defiance.
"Beautiful, isn't she?" the vendor boasted, gesturing grandly. "She's from an elven clan known for their Spirit Art affinity. Perfect for companionship or even as a bodyguard."
Orion's eyes narrowed slightly, activating his Eye of Revelation.
[Elf Female (Tier ???): Partial Details – Spirit Affinity: High. Current State: Weakened.]
The lack of clear information frustrated Orion. He hesitated, unsure whether she was the elf he sought, because he felt nothing special from her—neither did Lumi jump in to say she was the one.
"Interested?" the vendor pressed eagerly, mistaking Orion's hesitation for genuine interest. "A real bargain at 3,000 High Grade Mana Crystals."
Orion shook his head slightly, deciding against a hasty purchase without more details. "I'll keep looking."
"Was she not the one, Young Master?" Edgar asked as they continued moving forward.

He continued looking around while shaking his head. "Most likely not. I don't think she is the one I'm looking for."
"Are you sure she is in the Capital, Young Master?" Lucan curiously asked.
Orion nodded his head. "Yes, I'm sure she is in the Capital."
Edgar and Lucan looked at each other before heaving a sigh and continued moving forward.
As time passed, Orion observed countless individuals—powerful warriors, superb healers, cunning strategists—all reduced to mere commodities in the slave market. The market revealed the grim reality beneath the kingdom's glamorous exterior.
They eventually reached a quieter area of the market. Edgar leaned closer, speaking softly, "Young Master, this area holds higher-quality slaves, many captured from noble families or awakened experts from defeated armies."
Orion nodded silently. However, he didn't feel much, since both commoners and nobles were not much different to him.
Cages here were spacious and better maintained, holding slaves of notable appearance and demeanor. Vendors spoke softly while transactions happened discreetly, preserving buyers' anonymity.
At one stall, a vendor carefully presented a young male elf, proudly declaring him a former noble of high wood affinity potential. Orion felt a pang of sympathy seeing the noble elf's dignified yet sorrowful eyes.
Another cage held a majestic centaur warrior, muscles rippling beneath his restraints. His proud eyes defiantly challenged every observer, ready to fight to the death—his will unbroken by his harsh reality.
"Why would nobles buy slaves from other noble families?" Orion questioned Edgar softly, having an idea but wanting a clear picture.
Edgar's voice lowered to a whisper. "Influence, revenge, or strategic advantage. Owning an enemy's family member grants political leverage or psychological dominance. Nobility can be ruthless in maintaining power."
Orion absorbed Edgar's explanation, understanding now that the world of nobles was far more ruthless than he had expected. 'I thought they buy slaves to take ransom from enemy clans, but I underestimated their ruthlessness.'
They continued searching as they saw one slave after another with noble bearing all over the place.
However, even after looking here for a good few hours, they didn't find the elf.
"Haaa… Uncle Lucan, is there any place that we have missed? Maybe one held only for select few people, or where there's an entry fee?" he tiredly asked after their long, fruitless search.
Lucan looked around here and there before softly whispering, "There is indeed a place like that, Young Master. Should we head there?"
"The fuck were you waiting for? Why didn't you tell me about it sooner?" Orion nearly slapped the shit out of Lucan.
"Cough, it's not that simple. That place is under Prince Rufus. So we need to be more careful there." He hurriedly explained.
"Alright then, let's go. We're only going there to buy slaves, not to cause trouble." Orion shook his head and gestured for him to lead the way.
Edgar nodded in agreement with Orion. "Just lead the way. Even if something does happen, I don't believe Prince Rufus won't give Master some face."
Lucan nodded cautiously, leading Orion and Edgar deeper into the hidden pathways of the underground world.
The tunnel twisted and turned, growing darker and more secluded until finally, they emerged into a grand open area illuminated by floating mana lamps that glowed softly.
Ahead lay a magnificent building in all its glory. Its exterior was crafted from polished white marble and obsidian, adorned with intricate gold and silver runes that shimmered softly under the mana lamps.
At the entrance, guards clad in powerful hidden armor stood attentively, their mere presence deterring anyone from even entertaining the thought of causing trouble.
"This is the place," Lucan whispered, eyes darting carefully around. "Prince Rufus controls this establishment. It's a high-end market and auction house. The left wing is where slaves, treasures, and rare goods are sold directly, while the right side holds private auctions."
Orion carefully observed his surroundings, noting the heavy atmosphere and the tension permeating the air.
Nobles and merchants entered and exited quietly, their faces obscured behind elegantly designed masks, their identities protected yet their status clearly indicated by the richness of their attire.
Lucan handed them two new masks, intricately designed to conceal their identities, ensuring anonymity in this high-risk environment. "Wear these. These are higher quality masks," he said softly.
Orion and Edgar nodded and took their masks, quickly changing into them.
"Alright, best of luck now. Hope you can find the one you're looking for." Lucan said, joining both hands as if praying for Orion's success.
"Don't fucking tell me you're not even gonna go with us?" Orion's lips twitched as he asked.
"Cough, I only have two of such masks. And I'm really useless in such places. Sir Edgar would be much more useful." He quickly ran away after saying that.
Orion shook his head while Edgar chuckled. Afterwards, the duo entered the building.
The grand hall inside was vast and luxurious, displaying wealth and sophistication. To the left, Orion saw neatly arranged sections with various items: beautifully displayed treasures, shimmering gems, rare artifacts, and intricately crafted weapons.
Beyond these were rows of elegantly maintained cages, each containing slaves clearly marked with detailed descriptions of their skills, origins, and affinities.
Orion's eyes calmly scanned through the entire place. Even now, a faint disturbance rippled in his heart as he looked at the slaves.
'Truly, intelligence births cruelty.' He lightly shook his head.
[(。•́︿•̀。)]
[You aren't cruel, Master! Not everyone who becomes intelligent becomes cruel.]
Orion inwardly smiled at Lumi's innocence, but his gaze remained calm. 'You need to be cruel to survive in this world.'
His thoughts slowly grew colder, more resolute. 'Remember: mercy to your enemy is betrayal to your allies.'
'The line between good and evil... it's so blurred, it hardly matters anymore. As long as you carry empathy inside you—you can still walk your own path without losing yourself.'
[…]
Lumi silently repeated his words a few times inside her mind.
[Master, are you adapting more of your Dragon Inheritance? That's a line passed down among the generations of Dragons.]
Orion raised an eyebrow. 'No, I haven't done anything special yet. I would need to be able to transform into a True Dragon to even utilize it.'
[So that line wasn't from your inheritance… Looks like you are learning more and more things in this world.]
He heaved a sigh and shook his head. 'I would rather not learn such things and live my life peacefully journeying the world with a few beauties.'
[Hehe, maybe it will be possible in the future.]
He chuckled and turned to Edgar. "Let's start by examining the slaves."
Edgar nodded silently, walking beside Orion as they moved deeper into the rows. The slaves here appeared to be meticulously chosen, beautifully maintained and presented—yet the despair in their eyes was unmistakable.
Orion's heart felt heavy, but he maintained his composure, carefully scanning each cage. He noticed rare species and powerful individuals, from proud Beastkin warriors to ethereal Elven mages.
Yet, despite their evident strength or elegance, none triggered a response from him or his system.
"These slaves are indeed a cut above the rest," Edgar murmured softly. "From the looks of it, Prince Rufus clearly knows his customers well."

"He certainly has an eye for valuable commodities," Orion replied dryly, his voice tinged with a trace of bitterness.
As they walked further along, Orion's gaze suddenly landed on a particular cage toward the corner, partially hidden in the shadows.
His curiosity piqued, he approached cautiously, noticing a slender figure inside.
A green-haired elf sat quietly in the cage, her head bowed slightly, her delicate features obscured by long strands of unkempt hair.
Her clothes were ragged and her body malnourished, clearly neglected compared to the others. Yet despite her pitiful state, Orion felt an inexplicable pull toward her, as if he wanted to see her, yet couldn't.
He activated his Eye of Revelation instinctively, focusing intently on her. However, unlike other slaves, his skill gave little information this time.
[??? Elf – Unable to analyze clearly. Insufficient rank.]
Orion frowned, intrigued yet frustrated at the situation. "Something's off about her," he muttered softly to Edgar.
Edgar raised an eyebrow, examining her closely. "She looks ordinary—more neglected than special. Yet, I sense something unusual as well."
Orion stepped closer, his eyes narrowing further. The closer he got, the more intense the feeling of mystery became. Just as he approached her cage, a sudden notification from the system flashed urgently in his mind:
[Ding!]
[Quest Triggered Again!]
[Quest: Fate Unravel I – Bind a Fate]
[Target Located: The elf before you is the one destined to aid you significantly in your future endeavors.]
[Time Limit: 24 hours, 47 minutes remaining.]
[Reward: +200 SP]
[Failure Consequence: The Elf will be sold to someone else.]
[Tadaaa~! (≧▽≦) Master, you've found her! Don't let her slip away!]
Orion's eyes widened in surprise. His heart raced slightly at the sudden revelation. 'So she really is the one,' he thought silently, quickly determining to get her.
Edgar noticed the change in Orion's demeanor and leaned closer, whispering, "Is she the one you've been seeking, Young Master?"
Orion nodded firmly. "Yes, she's the one. We must secure her quickly."
A vendor standing nearby noticed Orion's interest and approached with politeness. "Ah, esteemed guests, you've taken an interest in this elf? Though she appears frail, her lineage is quite remarkable, I assure you."
Orion carefully maintained his composure. "Tell me about her lineage."
The vendor cleared his throat, trying to act like a scholar. "She hails from a distant forest kingdom, known for its rare and unique elves. Unfortunately, she seems cursed or afflicted. None of our experts could identify her abilities. Thus, her price is significantly reduced compared to other elves of similar lineage."
Orion's ears twitched. 'Cursed or afflicted? Is this guy just bullshitting or is there really some truth?' "How much is she?" he asked directly.
"Given her unknown condition, the price is considerably low: merely a thousand High Grade Mana Crystals," the vendor stated smoothly.
Just as Orion was about to agree, a different voice echoed from their side. "Excuse me, how much is this dirty elf for? I need some beast food at home."
A young man with two other people stood there, looking at the elf curiously.
The vendor hesitated. "Uh, sir, this gentleman here was just about to purchase her as well. So, if you both want to purchase her, then there will be a mini auction held here right now."
Orion's brow furrowed as he looked at the newcomer. Shaking his head, he turned to Edgar and softly whispered, "Uncle Edgar, how much is our budget?"
Edgar mysteriously smiled. "You can spend as much as you want, Young Master. Lady Selene gave me more than enough to buy as many slaves as you want here."
He softly smiled and nodded his head.
"Hah? I will need to compete as well?" The young man turned to look at Orion and Edgar, but he neither underestimated them nor overestimated them.
If someone had to come inside the slave market personally for slaves, then he couldn't be a high-ranking noble. And he wasn't one to get scared away by mere servants.
"Anyways, I will bid 5,000 High Grade Mana Crystals." He raised his hand and placed his first bid.
"10,000 High Grade Mana Crystals." Orion doubled the bid without hesitation.
"Oh? Let's see how deep your pockets are. 20,000 High Grade Mana Crystals." The young man looked at Orion curiously and raised the bid.
Orion frowned his brows. "30,000 High Grade Mana Crystals." He wasn't in the mood to shit-talk; otherwise, the young noble wouldn't be able to remain so calm.
The green-haired elf looked at all of this with dead eyes, as if feeling nothing whatsoever.
"Oho, looks like you are reaching your limits. 50,000 High Grade Mana Crystals," the young man smugly said.
"Young Master," Edgar leaned down beside Orion and softly whispered, "Raise the bid to 10 Exalted Grade Mana Crystals."
Orion raised an eyebrow but didn't think further. "10 Exalted Grade Mana Crystals."
"Holy shit." The young noble's eyes widened in disbelief and shock. "Are you fucking serious?? 10 Exalted Grade Mana Crystals for this elf?? You can buy as many slaves as you want with that much money!"
"I want her," Orion simply said, and looked toward the vendor, who was looking at Orion with such blindingly shiny eyes as if he were looking at a money god.
"Yes, Young Master! I will ready her right away!" he quickly said, not even looking at the other young man to see if he would bid further. He knew the value of the elf very well, and from the reaction of the young man, he wouldn't bid further anyway.
"Haha, this brother, looks like there was some misunderstanding between us. If I knew you wanted her so much, then I wouldn't have bothered to bid." The young man flatteringly smiled from beneath his mask.
Orion nodded his head but didn't comment, putting his entire focus on the vendor who was now opening the cage.
"Alright, come out. You got a master now." The vendor roughly said and dragged her out with her chains.
"Here, Young Master," he said with a smile, before taking out a runic inscription-filled page and a knife.
"You just need to put a drop of her blood first on this page before putting your own blood so we can seal the deal." He said and handed the page and knife to Orion.
Orion turned toward Edgar. "Is that correct?"
The young man turned around and left after seeing that the transaction was nearly complete, not wanting to embarrass himself further.
Edgar looked through the runic inscriptions briefly. "Yes, Young Master. It's genuine."
Orion nodded his head and gently raised the elven girl's hand. Her body slightly shook as Orion touched her, yet she didn't react further.
Orion pitifully looked at her before making a small cut on her finger, letting a drop of blood drip down on the page Edgar held beneath her hand.
The runic patterns changed, and a clear area for him to drop his blood on the page appeared. He gently let her hand down and turned toward Edgar, raising his hand above the page and slicing his thumb softly with the knife.
A few drops of blood dripped down from his thumb onto the paper. Before he could even react, the paper burned to ashes, and a faint rune blossomed into existence, like a scarlet flower blooming and vanishing in the blink of an eye.
For a moment, the elf girl's body trembled — the first true reaction she had shown since Orion saw her.
[Master... she's yours now... she's safe... (´。• ᵕ •。`)]

Orion's heart ached looking at the pitiful state of the elf. 'Haa… well, I need to head back as well.'
He then looked back at his hand and the knife. 'Damn sharp knife, it cut through my skin?'
[Butcher's Knife (???)
Description: ???]
'Fuck, it's a high-grade treasure at least.' Orion's lips twitched. He didn't expect even a normal worker here would have treasures above Tier 7.
He handed the knife back while Edgar paid the vendor. The vendor's hands trembled faintly as he accepted the payment, smiling so wide it nearly split his face.
"Haha, happy doing business with you, Young Master. We have lots of more exotic goods here. Would you like to see them?" The vendor rubbed his palms together and quickly said.
"Nah, I need to head back now." Orion shook his head and turned around. Edgar followed after him.
Yet after a few steps, he turned around to see that the elven girl hadn't moved a single step.
"Haaa…" He softly exhaled and came back toward her, gently holding her hand. "Let's go back to my home, alright? We can chat there."
The elven girl neither agreed nor disagreed. Orion helplessly shook his head and gently pulled her hand, taking her with him.

'Bonus rewards, huh?' He quickly glanced at the system screen before dismissing the prompts. 'I'll use the SP later and the title...I will look at the details in night. For now…' His thoughts trailed off as the trio exited the store.
Just as they took a few steps back along the way they came from, a voice echoed from behind.
"Ahaha! Young Master! I knew you would be able to find her." Lucan came out of nowhere and bowed respectfully to Orion.
"Let's go. About time we head home." Orion shook his head at him and continued moving forward.
"Here, Young Master, let the little missy wear this mask." He took out a mask from nowhere and handed it to Orion.
He nodded, understanding the danger of exposing her identity inside the slave market. He softly made her wear the mask before walking ahead.
Lucan followed closely behind with Edgar. He used a simple mana technique to speak with Edgar without moving his lips.
'Sir Edgar, is she safe? She isn't a spy from the Elven Empire, right?' he cautiously asked.
'Didn't you go to investigate the background of all the elves inside the establishment? What did you find out?' Edgar looked at him meaningfully and asked.
Lucan rubbed his chin while walking. 'That's the interesting thing. I found out nearly everything about all the elves… except her. The only thing written was that a group of hunters found her in the Great Wilderness and brought her here to sell just a few days ago.'
Edgar looked deeply at the malnourished girl. 'They brought her back safely?'
'Yes,' Lucan nodded. 'A beast heavily injured the hunter team's vice leader. So they traveled day and night without stopping and sold her here to get some money for his treatment. And before anyone could have bought her, Young Master arrived.'
Edgar thought for a moment. 'Once we reach the mansion, send one of your men to look for the hunter team, and find out all the details about her that you can.'
Lucan nodded his head silently. They both continued following after Orion, who gently held the elven girl, who seemed to trip at every other step.
'Sigh… how light is she? I feel like I could throw her across a street.' Orion lamented while gently supporting her, fearing she might break.
The group continued heading out of the underground place. They soon reached the exit, ascending from the winding tunnel.
"Haa… finally some fresh air." Orion softly murmured, feeling the soft, chilling breeze of the outside world brushing against his face.
The elven girl finally raised her head and looked at the clear sky. Her eyes faintly sparked with something before they dimmed again as she lowered her gaze.
He closely observed her, sighing lightly. "Alright, prepare the carriage."
Lucan hurriedly nodded his head and pulled up the carriage. Orion softly asked, "Can you get up?"
To which he got no reaction from her. He lightly exhaled and gently picked her up in a princess carry and took her up inside the carriage.
Carrying her felt less like holding a person and more like holding a dry stick—nearly weightless and fragile.
He quickly placed her beside him in the carriage and finally removed his mask. "Haa… I can finally breathe."
Turning his head, he saw her face covered by a mask. With gentle hands, he removed it for her as well.
What emerged was an above-average-looking face for an elf—which was already considered quite beautiful among humans. She had green hair and blue eyes, looking quite enchanting in itself.
'Hmm… why does she seem so… weird? As if I can't see her?' Orion inwardly muttered.
The elven girl didn't react at all as he removed her mask and stared at her.
"Uncle Edgar, do you know what's wrong with her? Why isn't she reacting to anything at all?" he asked once Edgar sat down opposite them.
Edgar curiously looked at the elf, noticing her unfocused gaze. "You better ask Lady Selene about this, Young Master. I'm no expert on this. All I know is fighting and killing."
"HAHAHA," Lucan laughed out loud from the front of the carriage. "Sir Edgar is quite the brute, Young Master. He only pretends to be sophisticated here. You should see him when he fights."
"Hoh? Looks like you aren't getting enough training, Lil Lucan." Edgar said with a calm smile.
"…." Lucan became silent as not even a hum of acknowledgment came from him. It was as if he vanished. If not for the fact that Orion could see him right through the window, he would have really thought Lucan jumped down from the carriage.
"So, I should talk with Grandma about her, huh? Well, maybe that's all I can do. Hopefully they won't react negatively." He nodded his head.
'You got any idea, Lil Lumi?'
[Noi! I can't really look at the condition of other people's bodies, Master. You need to unlock more of your Eye of Revelation's abilities for that.。゚・(>﹏<)・゚。]
Orion calmly nodded his head. 'Well, don't worry. It's not the first time you've proved yourself useless.'

'…So after an evolving system, now I'm getting evolving quests?' He lightly shook his head.
'So, anyway, I need to gain her trust and uncover her identity?' He slowly glanced at the green-haired girl and shook his head. 'This won't be easy.'
[That's why there's no time limit given, Master! You have lots of time to help her open up to you.]
He hummed in agreement and turned to Edgar. "Uncle Edgar, how will I explain about her back at home? I can't just say I decided to bring home an elven slave, right?"
Edgar chuckled. "Well, that is for you to think about, Young Master. We can't help you with that."
Orion resignedly released a soft exhale. "Looks like I'll just tell them what I can."
Edgar nodded but didn't comment further.
On the rest of the journey, Orion tried to communicate with the elven girl a few times, but each attempt turned out to be a failure.
He gave up and just enjoyed the view as they entered the third ring and then the second ring.
***
"We are here, Young Master! Time to take the missy home." Lucan grinned from behind the window while looking at Orion.
He lightly shook his head as he saw Edgar getting off the carriage. He followed after and descended as well. Turning around, he saw the girl sitting there motionless.
'Is she perhaps mentally disabled?' he inwardly wondered before gently reaching out to her hand and pulling her out of the carriage.
"Ah, lad, you are ba—" Eldric came out of the mansion with a smile, which soon froze as his gaze landed on the elven slave.
"Hmm? Is he here?" Selene's voice came from behind as she exited the mansion's gate, pausing at the entrance.
"Cough, you guys need to listen to my explanation," Orion hurriedly said before they jumped to conclusions.
Eldric softly nodded and gestured for him. "Alright, come inside everyone. We can discuss more there."
Lucan and Edgar excused themselves and ran away from the trouble, leaving Orion alone to handle it.
He gently shook his head, grabbed the girl's hand softly, and followed Eldric and Selene inside the building.
[Aren't you shaking your head too much lately, Master? (●__●)]
'Because you keep my stress at max.' He directly replied.
[Nuuuuu!! (ಥ﹏ಥ)-]
But before Lumi could respond any further, they reached the main hall of the mansion. Eldric sent away all the servants and took his seat.
"So, who is she, and where did you find her?" Eldric curiously asked, while Selene's gaze remained fixed on the girl's face. Her brows furrowed as if she were trying to see through something.
Orion took a deep breath. "Recently, I had a dream in which an elven girl helped me find my destiny. However, the dream was obscure and incomprehensible, yet it was deeply etched in my memory. I felt like if I didn't try to look for her, I would miss something really important."
Eldric and Selene looked at the two of them in surprise, and surprisingly, even the elven girl turned her face to look at Orion.
"Is that right? A dream, huh? So is she the girl from your dream?" Eldric looked deeply at her this time, trying to analyze everything about her. He soon found something amiss.
"Selene," he softly said.
"Yes. Someone used an illusion spell on her," Selene softly replied.
"Can you remove it?" he asked.
Selene smiled. "Who do you take me for? I'd be too ashamed if I can't even dispel a spell someone placed months or even years ago."
She stood up and came in front of the elven girl, taking out her wand from her storage ring. She began chanting a spell softly as glowing runes materialized all around her.
Orion looked at all of this in wonder. 'No wonder I felt something was wrong—she was under someone's illusion spell. Her true face was hidden.'
He finally realized what the issue was. He looked forward to seeing what her true appearance would be.
All the runes converged together before hitting the elven girl's body directly.
BOOM!
Darkness flowed all around them as the illusion broke. And it revealed a breathtaking beauty in front of the group.
She had lustrous green hair that shimmered like emerald silk, deep violet eyes that seemed to pull you in, milky white skin smooth as jade, and cherry-red lips so full that one would want to take a bite.
Even Fiora and Rina—each a beauty in their own right—paled in comparison.
She seemed to ooze a natural charm that calmed all who saw her, yet there was a faint hint of despair in her otherwise otherworldly aura.
Orion's eyes widened slightly in surprise. He hadn't expected her to be such a beauty. 'Damn… I won't curse you from now on, Lumi.'
[Hehehe~ (灬º‿º灬)]
"So that's her true appearance?" Orion asked Selene.
"Yes, dear," Selene softly nodded while patting the girl's head. "Someone placed an illusion spell on her for some reason. Probably so no one could recognize her. And it's a quite high-level spell."
Eldric turned to Orion. "So, what do you plan to do with her? Keep her with us? Or what?"
Orion lowered his head in contemplation. Eldric and Selene looked at each other and decided to give him time.
After a short few seconds, he raised his head. "I don't think she's in any condition to leave by herself. And I still have many things I need to confirm with her."
Selene nodded her head. "Then we'll keep her with us. She'll be your third maid."
Orion hesitated. "Maid? Are you su—"
"She's already your slave, and being your maid isn't a shame but an honor. You are my grandson, after all," Selene proudly declared.
Orion swallowed what he was about to say, instead agreeing with her. "Then I'll take her away. She needs a good bath."
Selene mischievously smiled. "Will you bathe her?"
"Huh? No! Of course not. Rina and Fiora will help her with the bath," Orion quickly rejected. He didn't want to taint his image in his grandmother's eyes.
"Hehe, I'm joking. You should go," she fondly smiled and patted his head.
Eldric shook his head, watching her tease Orion again. "Don't tease him too much, lest he starts hating you."
Selene shook her head confidently. "Of course he won't hate me. He would hate you first before me, if anything."
Eldric's lips twitched. Sighing lightly, he took out an envelope. "Well, at least the damn dean of that academy replied. Orion can go there now whenever he wants and register. But he'll have to take the tests himself—the dean wants to see my grandson's capabilities."

Taking the envelope from his hands, Selene lightly laughed. "Hehe, then let her test Orion. Wait and see how her jaw drops to the ground seeing his sheer potential."
Eldric's expression turned slightly serious as he looked at her. "Did you feel the power of a curse from her?"
Selene softly nodded. "Yes, and it's a strong one. Even I can't do anything about it. Was she born with it? Or did someone place it on her?"
His gaze turned solemn. "Who in the world can place a curse even you can't break? The Elven High Priestess?"
Selene quickly shook her head. "No, impossible. She wouldn't dirty her hands with curse magic."
"Then who…"
The old couple continued discussing who it could be, quickly forgetting about the slave issue—it was quite common in noble circles after all.
***
"Master, who is she?!" Rina pointed her trembling finger at the elven girl.
"She…" Orion gestured toward her, not knowing what to say as he didn't even know her name. After a split second of thought, he decided to name her, "...is Seraph. I bought a slave from the market, and she will be my third personal maid from now on."
"WHAT?!" Rina nearly shouted at the top of her lungs despite standing inside the library.
Meanwhile, Fiora looked at Seraph with wide eyes, feeling discomfort in her heart.
Orion had to look around and ask a few maids to learn that both of them had cooped themselves inside the library since morning. He had directly brought Seraph inside the library to find them, which led to the current situation.
"Master, were we not enough for you??" Rina asked, looking back and forth between Orion and Seraph.
"Cough, it's nothing like that, you two. First, come with me to my room, I'll explain the situation there," he said before looking around the quiet library.
A few maids could be seen clearing the shelves, but they didn't dare look in their direction, quietly doing their own work.
Orion turned around and took Seraph with him out of the library. Rina and Fiora looked at each other before following him out.
Rina frowned as she saw how gently Orion was treating Seraph. Fiora noticed Rina's expression and gently nudged her, silently gesturing for her to calm down.
Rina puffed her cheeks, but her tense expression slowly softened. She knew her master wasn't the kind of person who would casually bring home strangers without reason.
Back in Orion's spacious room, he gestured for Seraph to sit on the comfortable chair near the window. The elf remained silent, her dead violet eyes looking around the room cautiously, still wary despite Orion's gentle demeanor. Orion moved and gently made her sit down in the chair.
Rina and Fiora stood slightly behind Orion, eyes locked on the elven girl with curiosity and mild apprehension.
"Alright," Orion began softly, sitting down opposite Seraph and meeting her wary gaze, "let me explain clearly."
He briefly recounted the events of the day—his dream and how he had encountered Seraph at the market—carefully omitting the quest details given by the system.
Throughout his explanation, Seraph's gaze never wavered, though a subtle flicker of confusion passed through her eyes upon hearing the mention of his dream.
"That's how I found her," Orion finished calmly, looking back at Rina and Fiora. "I felt a connection and decided it was important to bring her here. It's not about dissatisfaction with either of you. You two are irreplaceable to me."
Rina's expression finally relaxed completely, and Fiora showed a gentle, relieved smile.
"We trust you, Master," Fiora softly affirmed.
"Indeed," Rina quickly nodded, though her eyes lingered on Seraph. "If Master thinks she is important, then she is important."
Orion smiled warmly, relieved that the misunderstanding was resolved swiftly. Then he looked back at Seraph, who was still silently observing everything.
"Seraph," he gently said, testing the name he'd given her. After seeing no reaction, he continued, "these two are Rina and Fiora. They'll be your companions and help you settle down here. I want you to trust us. You don't have to speak right now, but at least believe that no one here will harm you."
Seraph's eyes flickered slightly, and after a long moment, she subtly nodded her head. It was a tiny gesture, but Orion felt a sense of achievement from it.
"Good," Orion softly smiled, turning to Rina and Fiora. "Can you two help Seraph bathe and find some clean clothes for her? She's had a rough day."
"O-Of course, Master," Fiora replied softly, walking gently towards Seraph. She extended a careful hand, her eyes filled with warmth. "Come with us, Seraph."
Rina sighed internally but still walked over and gave a reassuring smile to the elf. "Don't worry, we'll take care of you."
Seraph looked between Orion and the two girls, finally standing up slowly. Her hesitant steps showed just how exhausted she truly was.
Rina and Fiora gently guided her out of the room, softly reassuring her along the way.
After they left, Orion exhaled softly and leaned back in his chair, his gaze lingering on the empty space where Seraph had been sitting.
[You handled that beautifully, Master! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ]
'Or so you say. She barely nodded. This trust thing is going to be far tougher than I thought,' Orion inwardly sighed.
[You have plenty of time, Master! Remember, this bond can't be rushed!]
Orion nodded slowly, understanding Lumi's point. He stretched lightly and stood up, walking to the window and looking out into the gardens illuminated by the soft evening glow.
'Indeed, I must be patient,' he quietly thought. 'There are many mysteries surrounding her. Why the illusion spell? What's her real background? And why would fate specifically link her to me?'
His mind raced with questions he couldn't yet answer, but he felt determined to slowly unravel them one by one.
[That's for you to learn, Master. Maybe one day, you can find out about them all at once.]
***
Meanwhile, Rina and Fiora gently helped Seraph bathe, carefully washing away the dirt and grime accumulated from her harsh treatment.
As they cleaned her, they noticed numerous small scars and bruises—evidence of her painful past.
Rina's heart softened completely upon seeing those marks. "Who could be cruel enough to do this?" she whispered softly, carefully wiping Seraph's arm.
Fiora gently combed the elf's silky green hair, sadness filling her eyes. "Don't worry, Seraph. Master Orion is kind. He won't let anyone harm you again."
Seraph remained silent, her eyes downcast. Despite their words, she didn't seem to have dropped her guard even slightly.
Afterward, they helped her into fresh clothing and guided her to a cozy room adjacent to Orion's, which had already been prepared by the maids.
"Rest well," Fiora softly said, tucking Seraph gently into the bed. "We're just outside if you need anything."
Rina smiled reassuringly. "We're here for you, okay?"
Seraph finally lifted her gaze slightly, and though she didn't speak, her eyes conveyed a flicker of gratitude.
Once outside Seraph's room, Rina sighed softly. "She's gone through a lot, hasn't she?"
Fiora nodded, determination flashing in her eyes. "Don't worry, Master. We'll make sure to take care of her."

Rina looked around before softly whispering, "But she will be the Master's third maid. Are you okay with that?"
Fiora softly giggled, "I'm happy as long as I have a little space in his heart. Moreover, she seems quite important to Master, so it will be better if she stays close to him."
Rina sighed, "Haa… I don't like this. I don't like this at all. I thought we two were enough for Master. But here he went ahead and got another maid. Do you think he'll get more in the future?"
Fiora's ears twitched as even she became silent this time, not knowing how to reply. If she was being honest, then even she didn't want more people to take her place from her Master.
She gently shook her head, "Whatever will happen, will happen. We should instead try to solidify our position in Master's heart."
Rina mischievously smiled, "Didn't we study the whole day just for that?"
Fiora blushed slightly, thinking about what they had learned during the day while studying.
"Come, it's time to put it to the test," Rina said, all energetic, before knocking on Orion's door.
Fiora fidgeted slightly before following after her.
"Come in." Orion's voice echoed out.
Rina opened the door and came inside with Fiora.
"We have settled her in the room beside yours, Master," Rina softly reported.
Orion nodded his head. "She needs some good rest now." He smiled, satisfied with the arrangements made for Seraph. "You both did well. I know this was unexpected, but thanks for understanding and helping her."
Rina smiled warmly. "Master, you don't need to thank us. We're just glad to support you."
Fiora quietly nodded in agreement, her eyes filled with sincerity. "Whatever makes Master happy, we'll always stand by you."
Orion chuckled softly, the tension from earlier beginning to fade away. "I'm lucky to have both of you by my side."
Rina exchanged a mischievous glance with Fiora, who blushed slightly and nodded subtly. Rina stepped forward, a playful smile on her face. "Master, you've had quite a tiring day today, exploring the city and handling so many unexpected things. Why don't you relax for a while?"
Orion tilted his head slightly, curiosity piqued by her tone. "Relax? What do you two have in mind?"
Fiora softly joined the conversation, gently stepping beside Rina. "We've learned a new technique today from the books we studied. It's supposed to help relieve stress and fatigue."
"Oh?" Orion's interest heightened, and a faint smile formed on his lips. "Alright then, what do I need to do?"
Rina cheerfully pointed towards the comfortable reclining chair near the window. "Just lie down there, Master. Leave everything to us."
Orion chuckled and rose from his seat, strolling leisurely toward the chair. Settling into the plush cushions, he leaned back comfortably, exhaling softly as the chair supported him perfectly.
Rina approached, kneeling gently beside his legs, while Fiora quietly moved behind the chair, softly positioning herself near Orion's shoulders and head.
"Relax completely, Master," Fiora whispered gently, her voice calm and soothing.
Closing his eyes, Orion nodded lightly, surrendering himself to their care.
Rina began by softly massaging his calves, her delicate hands pressing gently but firmly into his muscles, releasing tension that had built up after traveling all over the city today.
She methodically worked her way upwards, kneading his thighs rather roughly as it was her first time trying it, her mana-infused fingers pressing into all his tired muscles.
Orion felt warmth spread through his lower body, a soothing comfort washing away the lingering strain of the day.
Meanwhile, Fiora's gentle mana-infused fingers began at his shoulders, carefully pressing into his tense muscles with her gentle and soft fingers.
Her fingertips moved in slow, circular motions, easing the stiffness and encouraging him to relax further.
She gradually moved along his arms, applying gentle pressure to his biceps and forearms, her touch soft and mana-filled.
Both of them were rather immature at this, but Orion still felt warmth in his heart seeing both of them putting so much effort into taking care of him.
He released a contented sigh, feeling the stress gradually melt away under their combined efforts. "Where did you learn such skillful techniques?" he asked, subtly praising them.
Rina giggled softly, her voice filled with satisfaction. "We spent the entire day learning and practicing just for you, Master."
Fiora added shyly from behind, her voice tender, "We wanted to find ways to help you release some stress and stay comfortable."
Orion smiled warmly, appreciating their thoughtful efforts. "You two really spoil me. How will I find a wife at this rate?"
Rina playfully replied, her hands now carefully massaging around his knees and thighs, "Master deserves to be spoiled. As for your wife, you'll definitely find one of the best women in the entire world." Despite saying this, her voice held a hint of something inexplicable.
Fiora giggled at her words while continuing her gentle work, her fingers now easing tension from his neck and shoulders. "Your happiness is ours as well, Master."
Orion smiled and closed his eyes, letting his body rest completely. 'Haa… this is life.'
[I can also give you a mental massage, Master!! (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ]
'You can only give me mental headaches. Now stay silent and let me enjoy this.' He quickly shot her down.
[(ಥ﹏ಥ)]
The evening continued to pass as Orion enjoyed the gentle massage of his maids. Time seemed to blur as night soon descended.
Rina and Fiora had already left Orion to let him rest quite a while ago. He softly opened his eyes. "Mmm…" he slowly stood up from the reclining chair.
"Yaaawn~ That was a good sleep…" He stretched his body while saying.
[Good morning, Master!! (≧◡≦)]
'Good evening, Lumi.' Orion smiled and said.
Knock Knock
"It's dinner time, Master," Rina's voice came from outside.
"Coming," he said before going toward the washroom to wash his face.
***
Orion walked through the dimly lit hallway toward the dining hall. Rina and Fiora followed after him from behind.
He softly hummed while walking, in a good mood after completing a mission and getting a massage.
"W-Was the massage good, Master?" Fiora softly asked.
"Good? It was great. Haven't felt so good in such a long time," Orion appreciatively said.
Both of them gently smiled while Rina followed up, "Then let us do it often. That's the least we can do."
"Haha, sure, sure. I couldn't ask for more." Orion quickly agreed—after all, why wouldn't he?
The trio soon reached the dining hall.
"You're finally here. We thought you'd miss dinner today," Eldric chuckled and said.
Selene, on the other hand, softly asked, "Where is the elf? Is she sleeping?"
Orion nodded his head. "Seraph is resting currently. I had Rina and Fiora help her with that."
Selene raised an eyebrow. "Seraph? Did she tell you her name?"
Orion shook his head. "No, but I can't keep addressing her as 'Elf' or 'Elven Girl,' right? So I gave her a name."
Eldric chuckled. "That's good as well. So did you talk with Seraph?"
"Nope." Orion softly laughed and went to sit in his chair. "She hasn't spoken a word to me, nor has she reacted much."

Selene softly rubbed Orion's head. "She seems heavily wounded, both physically and mentally. Give her some time to open up to you. It might take a while."
The maids began serving them their food.
"Don't worry, Grandma. I'm not in a hurry. I've got a long life ahead." He said the last words meaningfully.
Eldric suddenly changed the topic. "Lad, when are you going to enter the academy? The entrance tests are ongoing right now."
Orion's eyes lit up—this was what he had been waiting for. "Really? When can I enter?"
"Woah, woah, slow down there, lad," he laughed, looking at Orion's eagerness. "You can go there whenever you want. You'll have to take the test, though—the dean wants to see how talented you really are. So just go wild."
Orion quickly calmed down. "What will the test be? History of the Thunderpeak Kingdom? Or my aptitude?"
Selene took over the conversation. "Well, you'll know once you go there, but it won't be anything written like kingdom history. What's even the use of that? You won't be taught something so useless unless you specifically ask for it."
"Hmm… that should be useful for nobles, right?" Orion curiously asked.
Eldric laughed. "Haha, it's the best awakener academy in the entire kingdom. Of course, they'd focus more on the awakening aspect rather than politics."
"Hmmm… then I'll go take the test tomorrow. I can't wait to start learning about mana," he said with an excited smile on his face.
The dinner continued with a relaxed atmosphere as Orion, Eldric, and Selene shared casual conversations about the academy, training routines, and even some humorous gossip about recent noble antics.
Fiora and Rina quietly attended to their needs, occasionally sharing gentle smiles or giggles at amusing things.
Eventually, the meal concluded, and Orion stood up, stretching slightly. "Thank you for the wonderful dinner, Grandma, Grandpa."
Selene softly smiled, patting his shoulder dotingly. "You're always welcome, dear. Have a restful night, tomorrow will be an exciting day."
"Don't stay up too late," Eldric added playfully, "you'll need your strength for the entrance test."
Orion chuckled, nodding at their advice. "I'll make sure to get a good rest."
Leaving the dining hall, Orion slowly walked towards his room with Fiora and Rina quietly following behind. As he entered, he turned to them with a warm smile. "You two have also worked hard today. Rest early as well."
"Yes, Master," both girls softly replied, bowing gently before quietly exiting the room.
Orion closed the door and walked towards the comfortable chair near his bed. Sitting down, he exhaled softly, relaxing into the plush cushions.
"Alright, let's see what I got today," Orion murmured, his thoughts directed inward.
[Master, you received a new title! (≧▽≦)]
Lumi's excited voice echoed clearly in his mind.
"Hmm? Right, I almost forgot about that." Orion quickly accessed his system screen.
[Hidden Achievement Title Unlocked: Bearer of Twisting Fates]
[Effect: Slight increase in future Fate-related encounters and opportunities.]
Orion raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Twisting fates, huh? Seems fitting considering today's events."
[Master, your fate is truly special! This title will help you encounter even more interesting events and opportunities. (☆▽☆)]
"Let's just hope these opportunities are beneficial," Orion chuckled softly. "Now, let me check how many System Points I have."
He focused, pulling up his total System Points.
[Total System Points (SP): 257]
"257… not bad at all," he murmured thoughtfully.
[Master, how do you plan to use these points?]
Lumi curiously asked.
Orion considered for a moment. "What do you think would be the best option, Lumi? Should I save these points to expand my inventory or perhaps explore [The Forgotten Archive]?"
[Hmm…]
Lumi paused briefly, thoughtfully humming.
[Well, both have their pros and cons. Expanding your inventory can be useful in the future, though you already have a storage ring for now. As for [The Forgotten Archive], you don't have any relics or items linked to it yet. Saving your points could come in handy during crucial moments. In the end, the choice is yours, Master! (^▽^)]
Orion leaned back in his chair, tapping his finger lightly. After contemplating for a short moment, he shook his head lightly. "Leaving the points unused would just be a waste. Gacha has brought me surprising benefits before."
[Are you saying what I think you're saying, Master?! (✧ω✧)]
Lumi's excitement surged.
Orion chuckled softly. "Exactly. Let's spend 250 points on 25 draws. Who knows, we might hit another jackpot."
[Yay! That's the spirit, Master! Let's gamble and win some treasures! o(≧▽≦)o]
Orion chuckled at her words, "You just want to see me broke. Anyways, commence the gamble."
[Ding! Commencing 25 draws…]
Orion leaned forward in anticipation, eyes filled with excitement. "Come on, Gacha God, don't abandon me this time."
[Let me set the mood, Master! (≧▽≦)]
Instantly, a cheerful and thrilling orchestral melody began playing softly in the back of his mind, steadily building to a dramatic beat, perfectly suited to heighten the excitement of his impending draws.
"Alright, here goes nothing," Orion said, feeling his heartbeat quicken slightly. "Begin!"
[Ding! Initiating 25 consecutive draws! Best of luck, Master! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧]
A glowing screen appeared before him, shimmering with radiant colors as the items began materializing one by one.

[Hehehehe, I knew Master's luck is really good.]
"Hurry, continue. I don't want my lucky streak to break," he quickly said.

Orion's eyes widened. "The hell?? Really? Did you mess with the odds of me getting this, Lil Lumi?"

Orion laughed. "Hahaha, looks like Gacha God really blessed me today. Continue, continue. It's the last fucking draw," he excitedly said.

The screen shimmered intensely for the final draw. The Gacha BGM dramatically peaked.
[Draw 25 - LEGENDARY RANK ITEM - THE CONVERGENCE SIGIL]
[A mysterious and ancient sigil with 12 grooves whose true power and effects remain unknown.]
Orion stared at the screen in excitement, his control over his emotions faltering as his draconic instinct raged onwards. His greed with excitement surged to an all-new level, his aura turning more ferocious. "Legendary!?"
[Calm down, Master.]
Lumi's soft voice echoed in his Sea of Consciousness like a gentle breeze.
Orion took a few deep breaths and suppressed his draconic instincts again. "Haa… Sorry I lost my cool. But fucking hell, a Legendary Draw?"
His eyes filled with excitement. "How in the hell did I manage to draw that? Do you know its uses?"
[(_□_), sorry Master. I don't know about the treasures of Echo's treasury. But it seems some sort of treasure with twelve sections. Maybe it is incomplete.]
Orion gently said, "Don't worry, I asked for too much. After all, you only have the knowledge from my Dragon Inheritance."
[Master…( ಥ ರ ಥ )]
"And why does this damn Human Emperor Inheritance not have any memories? I could have known so much about the political forces of Demons and other Races with it. Grandpa clearly mentioned how legendary a figure he was," Orion shook his head and sat back down.
[Maybe it's because he didn't have enough time to make an Inheritance for his inheritor back then? Sounds like it was a chaotic situation from what I heard.]
"Maybe…" He shook his head and looked back at his draws, his smile widening. "Anyway, these draws were fucking worth it. Hahaha, my luck really turned for the better."
[Ehh Master, you really think it was due to your luck?]
Lumi cautiously asked.
Orion paused. "Huh? What do you mean? Was there another reason?"
Lumi thought for a while on how to answer before she cautiously began,
[The thing is, Master, the System Points you get for completing quests are special. They have higher value with better chances of gaining treasures. That's why you only drew a single empty draw…]
"…" Orion stared at the screen with a blank look on his face. "…Then why were you hyping me up saying my luck is good today?"
[Cough, that was to make you happy, Master. You were so excited, I just couldn't pour cold water on it at that time.(⁎・ω・)⁎)]
"….Haaa… you have dashed my hope of reaching the peak with gambling alone." Orion dropped back on the bed, dashing his dream of farming Mana Crystals and gaining limitless treasures.
"Where did you put the treasures? I don't think my inventory has enough space for them all." He asked after resting for a moment.
[They are in the High Grade Spatial Ring, Master.]
Orion nodded his head. "Well, I should organize the inventory," he said and sat back up.
"Show me my inventory." He first decided to look at what he got.
[Inventory (5/10)]
-Damaged World Tree Seed
-Strange Stone
-600 Tons of Meat
-Bonesteel Sword (High Grade Treasure)
-Moonberry x9,983 (Common Grade)
"Hmm, only got 5 slots huh…" He rubbed his chin and looked at the draws he made. "Put… Thunderstrike Bow, Emberstone Staff, Spatial Blink Rune, Three Lives Morning Dew, and the Convergence Sigil inside the inventory."
He decided on the main treasures that he had drawn from the gacha this time.

"Now this is much better. Let me see what the Convergence Sigil looks like. Make sure no aura leaks from the treasure, Lumi," he said while taking out the treasure from the inventory.
Orion's hand tightened instinctively as the Convergence Sigil emerged from the void of his inventory—hovering slightly above his palm, untouched by gravity.
A slow, low hum filled the room, like the heartbeat of a distant star, resonating with the very fabric of reality. Yet it released no aura, as if time had stilled for it.
His eyes widened.
It was… beautiful. But terrifying.
The sigil was a perfect obsidian disk, about the size of his palm, but its surface shifted like liquid metal, flickering between black and gray, colors he instinctively associated with Space and Time.
Around its outer rim were twelve evenly spaced grooves, each glowing faintly with a different intricate rune. Looking at them gave the feeling as if gazing at trillions of ants crawling at a single point.
At the very center of the disk was nothing but darkness, yet he felt that if he tried to penetrate it with his mortal body, he would be nothing more than dead meat.
He took a deep breath and carefully observed it all over, looking for any clue how to use it. It felt incomplete yet complete, contradicting in itself.
"Lumi… do you have any idea what this can do?" he asked again.
Lumi ruminated for a second, [I don't have any idea, Master…]

Orion nodded his head and carefully placed it back inside the Inventory. "Haa…that was something else, so that's what such high-level treasures feel like." He heaved a sigh and dropped back on the bed.
He looked at the inventory for some time while lying down, "Damaged World Tree Seed…how am I supposed to grow a fucking world tree with a damaged seed in this world?" he shook his head.
Staring at the screen, he decided to look at the Strange Stone. "Hmm…" he pulled it out of the inventory, and no natural phenomenon followed after it.
There was no intense pressure, no majestic feeling, no visible aura, just a plain stone with crude markings on it.
Yet his eyes suddenly widened as he felt the Stone resonate with something inside of him, yet it was so subtle that he couldn't pinpoint it.
"Lumi, did you feel that?" he quickly asked.
[Felt what, Master?]
She curiously asked back.
"You didn't feel the stone resonate with me just now?" he quickly asked as his heartbeat sped up.
[No…nothing like that, Master.]
Lumi replied in confusion.
Orion stopped talking with her and seriously looked at the stone in his hand. He tried to connect or resonate with it once again, however, the feeling was already gone.
He didn't give up and continued trying for a while more before eventually heaving a sigh, "Haa…" he placed it back in his inventory.
'I will need to know what it resonated with. It's something that even Echo wasn't able to understand, it has the potential to become my strongest strength…or my straight downfall.' he inwardly thought.
He knew full well the risks such unknown treasures held, yet due to its sheer potential, he couldn't just discard it.
Shaking his head, he looked at the inventory again and took out some Moonberry to eat. While chewing on it he said, "Lumi, don't elves love these Moonberries? Would Seraph like it if I gave it to her?"
[She will definitely like it, Master, if she accepts it. (^▽^)]
Orion nodded his head and threw another berry inside his mouth while browsing the rest of his inventory. "Well, I should go to the academy tomorrow, let's see what interesting things I can learn."
[Hehe, let me motivate you, Master!]

"…" Orion speechlessly stared at the screen.
[I know, I know~ it's technically not mandatory. But come on! I really want to see their jaws hit the floor when you casually rewrite the standard. (๑>◡<๑)]
"Haa…whatever will I do with you." He smilingly shook his head and closed all system screens.
"About time I head to sleep, will be a busy day tomorrow." He stood up and stretched his body for a few minutes before heading to bed.
[Good night, Master! ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ]
"Good night, Lumi." He softly said and closed his eyes.

The gentle warmth of morning sunlight filtered through Orion's window, softly caressing his face and pulling him from his peaceful slumber.
He slowly opened his eyes, blinking away the remnants of sleep before sitting up and stretching with a contented sigh.
[Good morning, Master! Hope you had a good sleep.]
The first thing he heard after waking up was Lumi's cheerful voice. He smiled slightly and nodded, "Good morning. I had nice sleep after those draws."
Knock Knock
"Good morning, Master," Rina's cheerful voice resonated gently from outside his door. "May we come in?"
"Come in," Orion called back softly, shaking off the last bits of sleepiness.
The door opened quietly, and Rina entered with Fiora close behind her, both smiling warmly at him. "Your bath is ready, Master," Fiora said gently.
"Thanks, both of you." Orion stood up, following them toward the bathing chamber. As they prepared him for his bath, he casually inquired, "How is Seraph this morning? Did she wake up?"
Rina paused for a moment before answering softly, "Yes, Master. She woke up quite early. We tried offering her some food, but she didn't touch it at all. Eventually, we just left some fruits beside her bed, hoping she'd at least try something."
Orion frowned slightly, concerned. "I see. It might take her some time to adjust. I'll go visit her after the bath."
Rina and Fiora nodded before gently bathing him.

Once refreshed and dressed, Orion made his way toward Seraph's room. Pausing briefly, he knocked gently on her door and said, "Seraph, it's me."
"…Alright, I'm coming in." After not getting a reply, he softly opened the door and entered inside.
She was sitting quietly by the window, staring blankly outside at the gardens. The plate of fruit remained untouched beside her.
Despite him approaching, she didn't move a single bit from her seat, continuing to stare at the outside scene.
He swiftly moved and sat down beside her at a comfortable distance. She slowly turned her head and looked at him without any expression.
Orion gently smiled and began, "How are you feeling this morning?" he asked quietly with a warm tone.
Seraph didn't reply, only continuing to watch him with an unreadable expression.
"I understand things are difficult right now," Orion continued gently. "But please know that you're safe here. You can trust us. You can take as much time as you need to settle down."
She slightly lowered her gaze, her eyes showing subtle conflicting emotions. Orion took this small reaction as progress and softly encouraged her, "If you feel up to it later, perhaps we can explore the garden together? Fresh air might do you good."
Yet he did not receive any response, however, this didn't discourage him as he had expected it. Not wanting to overstay his visit, he slowly stood up, "Well, at least eat something. Otherwise, for whatever reason you held on for so long would be wasted."
He slowly said and turned around, exiting her room. Seraph stared, looking in the direction of his fading back before looking at the fruits. Yet she didn't reach for them, instead turned back to look at the outside world.

After leaving Seraph's room, Orion joined his grandparents in the dining hall for breakfast. Eldric greeted him with a knowing smile. "All set for the academy, lad?"
Orion nodded confidently. "Definitely. I've been waiting for this."
"Good," Eldric chuckled, sipping his tea thoughtfully. "I'd suggest taking Edgar and Lucan along with you today. Selene and I showing up at the academy personally would only cause unnecessary chaos."
Selene smiled warmly. "Indeed. You wouldn't want every noble child crowding around you on your first day. Let them discover your talents slowly."
Orion laughed softly. "I suppose you're right. Uncle Edgar and Uncle Lucan will be enough. I'm sure they can handle most things smoothly."
Breakfast continued in a relaxed atmosphere, filled with idle chatter and the occasional playful teasing from Eldric. Once finished, Orion excused himself, preparing to leave for the academy.
Edgar and Lucan were already waiting outside, the carriage ready. Lucan greeted him cheerfully, "Ready for your big day, Young Master?"
"More than ready," Orion responded confidently, climbing into the carriage. "Let's see what this academy has to offer."
Edgar chuckled, "You definitely won't be disappointed, Young Master. Just wait and see."
"Indeed, Young Master, the academy got top-notch beauties from all around the kingdom. You definitely won't be disappointed." Lucan winked from behind the window.

Orion laughed and said, "Hahaha, then I can't wait to go there, hurry up now."
Edgar smiled, "You should prepare yourself for the test, Master. It only happens for a week each year. Master timed it right to reach this place. It's the sixth day now, it should be quite crowded."
"Then it would be quite a spectacle to watch it." He smiled and relaxed comfortably into the carriage seat, gently tapping his fingers against his thigh as he turned his head to stare out the window, watching Stormspire City's bustling streets pass by.
"Uncle Lucan, Uncle Edgar," Orion began thoughtfully, "what exactly is this academy like? I know it's prestigious, but are there any specific things I should watch out for during the test?"
Lucan chuckled from the driver's seat, driving skillfully through the streets. "Young Master, the Thunderhall Academy is also called Thunderpeak Royal Academy due to how many nobles there are. And it is the best in the entire kingdom. It attracts talented youngsters from all noble families and even gifted commoners. Competition there is fierce, especially during the entrance tests, but it only gets tougher from there."
Edgar nodded in agreement, sitting opposite Orion with a calm smile. "Indeed, Young Master. The tests measure your innate mana capacity, your elemental compatibility, and your affinity level. Naturally, you'll excel, but you should still expect some jealousy and perhaps even hostility from others."
Orion smiled lightly, not caring about that. "If competition bothers me, I wouldn't be suited to walk this path. The only issue I have is the higher-up nobles stirring up trouble."
Lucan laughed heartily, glancing back briefly. "Hahaha, you don't need to worry about those, Young Master. None of them will dare to do anything to you on the surface. However," he paused, looking at Orion with a meaningful smile, "they can still deploy underhanded tactics."
Orion raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Assassination?"
Lucan's smile widened, "Not only that, there can be honeytraps for you as well."
"…I expected too much from you." He lightly exhaled and shook his head, while Lucan laughed out loud, looking at his expression.
Lucan's laugh subsided, and he said with an excited smile, "But anyways, Young Master, with your talent, you'll shake the whole academy for sure. I'm already looking forward to the rumors you'll stir up."
Edgar smiled slightly, pulling a small ornate token from his storage ring. It was intricately carved, bearing the emblem of Stormspire Citadel, a silver thunderbolt striking a mountain. While on the other side was written 'Helstorm' in bold letters.
"Young Master, take this. It was prepared by Master Eldric. Present this token at the gate, and they'll allow you to participate directly in the test."
Orion accepted the token, examining it curiously. The smooth, cool metal felt quite good in his palm. "This token holds that much influence?"
"It represents authority on the same level as a Duke Household," Edgar explained gently. "Only those directly connected to high-ranking nobility possess such tokens. It guarantees you won't be unnecessarily troubled during your entry."
Orion pocketed the token securely, nodding appreciatively. "Got it. Let's hope I can back up Grandpa's reputation, then."
Lucan's laughter echoed warmly through the carriage. "Young Master, once they see you perform, they'll know that no one connected to Master can be normal."
Amidst their chatter and laughter, the carriage swiftly traveled towards the central part of the second ring, where the majestic Thunderpeak Royal Academy came into view.
Orion gazed in excitement as the academy appeared. It was enormous and awe-inspiring, a testament to both architectural grandeur and magical prowess.
Towering pillars spiraled gracefully upward, shimmering with faint mana enchantments visible even at a distance. Orion could already see the massive academy taking an enormous amount of space, with giant colosseum-type structures all over the place. From a distance, he saw the outside of the academy packed with people.
As their carriage stopped outside the crowded entrance, Orion saw a sea of noble youths gathered anxiously. Chatter buzzed through the air, accompanied by whispers, laughter, and the occasional heated argument. Clearly, emotions were running high.
"We've arrived, Young Master," Lucan announced cheerfully, pulling the carriage expertly to a halt.
"Good luck, Young Master," Edgar said calmly as Orion stepped out. "We'll wait here until you're done."
Orion glanced back, smiling confidently. "Thanks, both of you. See you later."
[Best of luck Master!!! (≧ω≦)]
Lumi's more-than-usual excited voice echoed inside his mind.
He inwardly smiled, 'Thanks for the encouragement, lil Lumi.'
Turning back towards the crowd, he took a deep breath before walking forward. The extra crowd parted ways looking at his demeanour.
Despite not being born in nobility or even living like a noble for long, his three Emperor lineages gave him an aura greater than the vast majority of living beings can hope to achieve in their entire lives.
The older generation looked at him with curious eyes, wondering where such a fine young man came from. While the younger generation eyed him warily, no one was happy with gaining another tough competitor for the few spots they get each year for academic admission.
While the noble ladies looked at him with appreciative eyes, his aura seemed to be captivating their hearts with its mere presence.
However, Orion ignored all of it and approached the academy gates. There, he saw a teacher standing—an elderly man with a stern expression on his face, carefully checking each student's token before he allowed them entry.
"Next," the teacher called out sternly as Orion approached.
"Good morning," Orion greeted politely, handing the ornate token to the instructor.
The teacher took a good look at him before glancing at the token casually. However, his eyes widened suddenly as he recognized the level of the token he had gotten, his expression quickly turning from shocked to surprised.
He glanced between the token and Orion several times before recovering his composure and coughing discreetly.
"Ahem, welcome to Thunderhall Academy," the teacher said with a hint of respect in his tone, returning the token swiftly with a slight nod of acknowledgment. "You may proceed directly inside."
"Thank you," Orion replied courteously, slipping the token back into his pocket before walking through the towering gates. Behind him, whispers grew louder and more animated as the surrounding nobles attempted to discern his identity.
As Orion stepped past the towering enchanted gates, he felt the mana density in the air sharply rising. And following that was a scan by the gate. He raised his head to see the gate flashing some runes, as if scanning for something before dimming again.
He barely felt the scan. Just a soft tingling across his skin, like static brushing against his arm. He frowned, no one would like it if they are scanned by an unknown treasure without their consent.
However, since he couldn't do anything about it, he just shook his head and continued forward. The inside of the academy was even more breathtaking than what he had seen from the outside.
The entire stone pathways curving around the green garden seemed to be made out of polished jade, with inscriptions written all over them. At the center of the garden was a fountain surging with mana-infused water, making the surrounding greenery even healthier.
