Chapter One: The Ending That Wasn't in the Manga
In a deserted alley far from the noise of traffic and the laughter of children, stood Damon, a man in his late twenties, with short black hair and a black suit that seemed to melt into the darkness of the night.
His eyes weren't cold… they were dead.
No spark. No guilt. Not even hatred.
As if they had already left life behind.
In front of him, another man knelt, face contorted with fear and soaked in tears, trembling uncontrollably.
"Please… Please don't kill me…"
His voice came out in broken sobs, choking on his own breath.
"I have a family… children… a wife waiting for me… don't do this… please!"
Damon didn't answer.
He simply turned his blade slowly, gripping its edge and raising it above the man's head.
Just one look was enough to freeze time.
"I'm sorry… but you were already dead the moment they put a price on your head."
"Switch—"
The sound of air being sliced.
Then… the dull thud of a body collapsing.
As if life itself had been drained from the world in an instant.
Blood… and a severed head.
"The mission is complete."
Damon spoke into the earpiece in his ear, voice devoid of emotion.
"Copy that," came the dry response from the other end.
He didn't glance at the corpse.
He didn't look back.
He simply walked into the night, his footsteps silent—like a ghost.
---
Onboard the high-speed train, Damon sat by the window, pulling out his phone.
A smile crept onto his face—for the first time in days.
"There it is…" he muttered quietly to himself.
A new chapter of his favorite manga had just dropped.
"Jujutsu Kaisen."
---
The back car of the bullet train was quiet, filled only with the soft rumble of wheels and scattered conversations.
I sat alone in seat 14, next to the window.
I raised my phone again.
"Jujutsu Kaisen."
The page was still loading slowly… then finally appeared—the first panel of the new chapter.
Gojo stood, face wrapped in bandages, eyes covered, staring forward defiantly as if he knew he was about to lose everything.
I smiled… I didn't even know why.
Maybe because I understood what it felt like… to stand alone. Against the world. Against fate. Against betrayal.
I started reading, word by word, sinking into the scene, forgetting who I was… forgetting everything around me—
Until—
A scream.
Then… shaking.
A sharp cry from the front carriage, followed by a violent tremor that rocked the entire train.
People screamed… seats flew… glass shattered.
Time slowed.
From the side window, I saw it.
A massive truck crossing the red rails—speeding straight toward our car!
I didn't think.
I didn't scream.
I didn't even read the next word.
My body moved on its own.
I shoved the girl sitting beside me to the floor.
Then sprinted toward the back door of the car.
Pulled the red emergency lever.
Tsssh!
The door flung open unnaturally fast—thanks to a mechanical fault.
Cold air slammed into me like a punch to the face.
In the next second—
BOOM.
Everything behind me vanished.
Glass. Steel. People.
The blast wave surged forward.
But I jumped.
---
And just as I turned midair… another truck was heading toward me—full force.
But I wasn't just anyone.
I raised my hand toward the truck rushing at me.
Used its edge as leverage.
Grabbed it.
Pulled myself up and over—gracefully landing behind it.
But of course, they weren't done.
Ten men emerged from behind the truck, armed and deadly.
"Why the hell do assassins always attack during my reading time?"
I couldn't help but complain.
---
I hate being interrupted when I'm reading…
I had just opened the new chapter of my favorite manga. The first lines were electric. My pulse quickened.
But I never finished it.
A sudden crash.
Everything smashed. Glass shattered. Wheels groaned.
Air compressed in my chest.
For a moment… I thought I was dead.
But I was still alive.
And that's worse.
I opened the back of the truck and stepped out.
Not a scratch.
Not luck.
Training.
As soon as the truck moved, I gripped the interior frame and let my body follow the momentum.
I stepped out, standing.
I looked up—sunlight struck my eyes. I didn't flinch.
They were in front of me.
Ten men.
Armed. Black vests. Cold stares. Killers.
One of them pointed at me.
"Kill him."
Ah… the classic line.
I counted them. One… two… up to ten.
My hand didn't go to the gun immediately.
It went to my phone.
I wanted to finish that cursed sentence.
"Expand the domain… and smile."
I smiled.
Locked the phone.
Tossed it behind me.
Opened my coat.
Gun on the right. Knife on the left.
"Your only mistake… was letting me breathe."
---
And I moved.
No orders needed.
No mercy offered.
The first man fired.
I had already ducked.
Rolled across the ground, drew my gun. One shot to the knee.
Another to the head.
He dropped like a meat sack.
The second came swinging an axe.
I vaulted off the third guy's back—used him like a stepping stone.
Jumped behind them.
Drew my knife.
Slit the fourth man's throat—slowly.
Felt his blood splash on my shirt.
The fifth turned. I grabbed his neck—used him as a shield.
Their bullets shredded him.
But he died serving a purpose.
Over his shoulder—two quick shots.
Right between the sixth man's eyes.
Six down.
The last four circled behind me.
My ammo was nearly gone.
I dashed behind a flipped car—used it for cover.
Fired at one's leg.
He fell.
I walked up to him… I grabbed my knife before I cut off the sixth man's head.
"Seven."
Then—flash. A grenade.
I saw it.
Caught it midair—threw it back.
Smoke everywhere.
Coughing. Screaming.
One of them crawled out—burning, begging.
"Please… I was just following orders…"
That word "please" disgusts me.
Just like that man… my first kill ever.
Three shots.
One in the chest. One next to it. One in the head.
Silence.
---
I stood there…
The world was quiet.
Bodies. Blood. Smoke rising from a burning car behind me.
This is my world.
No room for regret.
No room for forgiveness.
Everyone's a potential traitor.
Even the ones closest to you.
Especially the closest.
I bent down. Picked up my phone.
The screen still glowed.
"Expand the domain…"
I smiled again.
But then—
I felt something coming.
Fast.
Another truck.
Smaller this time.
But not the threat.
Everything vanished… the moment I heard the sound.
BOOM
