Receiving three rewards at once was a pleasant surprise for Muyue. He felt a flood of new memories enter his mind, the most prominent being the memories of practicing Fire-Style Chakra Nature Transformation. The memories were so vivid that for a moment, he had the illusion of being an old ninja who had specialized in Fire Style his entire life.
"Teacher Hanyu, may I ask you a question?" Shisui asked respectfully.
Hearing Shisui's voice, Muyue, who was about to check his status panel again, paused. He led Shisui to a deserted area behind the school building and used his new Sensory Ninjutsu to check the surroundings. There were no particularly strong chakra signatures nearby.
Reassured, Muyue smiled. "Is there something from class you didn't understand? Go ahead."
Shisui shook his head. "It's not about the lesson content. I have a different question."
"Teacher, you know that the Senju and Uchiha clans founded Konoha together. So why is it that now, everyone only remembers the Senju clan and rarely speaks of the Uchiha's contributions?"
Though still a child, Shisui was exceptionally mature and perceptive. When he went out with his elders, he could feel the strange looks from passersby when they saw the clan crest on their backs.
We were both heroes who founded the village, so why are the Uchiha's merits not only ignored, but we even seem to be disliked by the villagers? Shisui didn't understand.
Looking at the perplexed Shisui, Muyue inwardly grumbled, What kind of reputation does Senju Hashirama have in Konoha, and what kind of reputation does Uchiha Madara have? How can you even compare the two?
"You've probably only read the history provided by your clan, right?" Muyue asked.
Shisui nodded. The only history he had access to was what the Uchiha had given him.
"A lot has happened for things to become this way. It's difficult to explain in a short time," Muyue said, feigning a troubled expression.
Seeing Muyue's hesitation, Shisui felt guilty, realizing the issue was more complex than he had imagined. He was about to say "never mind," but Muyue spoke again.
"Forget it. If you have time after school, come find me. I'll tell you the history behind it all," Muyue said with a sigh. "After all, I suppose I owe your Uchiha clan a debt of gratitude. Consider this my way of repaying it."
Shisui was confused. How could Muyue owe the Uchiha a debt? He asked him directly.
"During a war, my parents were surrounded by enemies and were saved by a ninja named Uchiha Kagami. Although they still died in a later battle, I have always remembered that debt of life," Muyue fabricated with a grateful expression.
He was thankful that his body's original owner was already an orphan; otherwise, he wouldn't have had so much room to improvise. He had to admit, sometimes the dead were more useful than the living.
Shisui's eyes widened in disbelief. Uchiha Kagami was his grandfather. He never expected to have such a connection with Muyue, and a strange feeling washed over him. However, Shisui wasn't the type to exploit a debt of gratitude, so he didn't make a big deal of it and simply thanked Muyue.
Before Shisui left, Muyue used Appraisal on him.

As he walked back to the office, Muyue marveled at the stats. As expected of the beast who could activate a Susanoo with a single eye, those two shimmering 'S's were dazzling. Even the system recommended him for discipleship.
Muyue opened his own status panel again to see if his evaluation had changed.

"It seems that 'Mastery of Fire-Style Nature Transformation' is even more powerful than I thought," Muyue mused, feeling he might have underestimated the value of the word "mastery." He initially thought it might just be equivalent to a Jounin's knowledge, but now it seemed that in terms of Fire Style alone, he might already be at the Third Hokage's level. After all, besides two Fire Style jutsu, all he knew were the Body Flicker, the Three Basic Jutsu, and some standard taijutsu. At this level, just by increasing his chakra after receiving the reward, he could reach the level of an elite Jounin.
An elite Jounin... that had to be at least the level of Kakashi or Asuma at the beginning of the series.
His strength had soared, and while Muyue was initially overjoyed, the thought of his identity as a Root member quickly dampened his spirits. First, the cursed seal from Root on his body made him feel incredibly insecure. Second, Danzo, that decrepit old schemer, had a habit of sending his subordinates on suicide missions, which made him feel even less safe.
"I need to recruit some disciples quickly and raise my strength. Even if I can't reach the level where I can kill Danzo and leave freely, I need to at least have the ability to protect myself," Muyue set a small, short-term goal for himself.
When Muyue entered the office, he found three other teachers—two men and one woman—complaining about their students. He recognized them all. The original owner of the body had met them when he came to the school earlier.
Muyue casually used Appraisal on each of them.

"Sigh, I'm so unlucky. How did Year 4, Class 2 fall into my hands? I'm already teaching Year 3, Class 1," Ikeya Isamu lamented, throwing his hands up in defeat. "How am I supposed to teach them? Might Guy and Uchiha Obito, the two biggest dead-lasts, are both in that class."
"On top of that, my family arranged a blind date for me tomorrow afternoon, and that's exactly when I have a class with them."
"Find a teacher who's free to cover for you, or just take the day off. The blind date is more important," suggested Ueda Aya.
Just then, Ueda noticed Muyue enter and greeted him with a smile. "Teacher Hanyu, how was your first class? Were those little tricks I taught you helpful?"
Muyue recalled how the enthusiastic female teacher, worried he'd be nervous, had told him to just imagine his students were all radishes and cabbages.
He replied politely, "Thank you, the tricks were very helpful. Though after class, the students all advised me not to be a picky eater."
"Haha, Teacher Hanyu, you're so amusing," Ueda laughed, figuring he must have handled his first day well if he was in the mood to joke.
"Teacher Ikeya, I don't have a class tomorrow afternoon. If you need, I can cover for you," Muyue offered, placing his lesson plan on his desk and adopting the demeanor of a kind-hearted colleague.
Unlike the other teachers, Muyue wished he had a full schedule every day. Plus, Year 4, Class 2 had Obito and Might Guy. He definitely had to check them out.
A look of joy spread across Ikeya's face. He thanked Muyue profusely and promised to treat him to a meal sometime.
In the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, watched Muyue through his crystal ball. He saw the young man speaking about the Will of Fire with a solemn expression. Stroking his goatee, he thought that this young man from Root seemed decent—someone who understood the Will of Fire.
Danzo thought he was being discreet, but Hiruzen was already aware of some of the ninjas who had been trained by Root but were not on its official roster. He simply felt that Danzo was, in his own way, cultivating strength for Konoha, and as long as he didn't go too far, it was acceptable.
However, Hiruzen placed great importance on the Ninja Academy. He had decided to observe personally, and to his surprise, this Root ninja's very first lesson was about the Will of Fire, instilling a sense of responsibility in the students. This pleased Hiruzen greatly.
"I'll see how he performs from here. If he proves to be a real talent, I'll have him removed from Root."
Still, Muyue's performance so far wasn't enough for Hiruzen to confront Danzo to get him. While everything under Danzo was technically under his command, he still had to consider his old classmate's feelings.
With that thought, Hiruzen stopped the Telescope Jutsu and began to work on his paperwork, planning to inspect Konoha again in the evening.
After dinner, Shisui followed the directions Muyue had given him and set out to find his teacher's home. Muyue lived in the sparsely populated southeastern part of Konoha, a relatively remote area far from the main district. Thanks to the lack of buildings, Shisui quickly found Muyue's house: a single-story wooden cabin in a simple yard.
The moment Shisui stepped into the yard, he saw a sight that left him utterly dumbfounded and shaken to his core.
