Chapter 18 - Fractures Of Trust

*Miracle's POV*

It was too easy.

A single planted journal, forged with Nyla's handwriting, and the right scroll sealed with rogue symbols was all it took. I left it in the supply hut—exactly where Marcus would find it. The beta's loyalty was a double-edged sword, and I knew he wouldn't ignore what looked like betrayal.

They wanted her perfect? I'd make her poisonous.

*Marcus's POV*

I gripped the leather-bound book with unease. The pages were filled with details about the pack's guard rotations, weaknesses, and plans—written in Nyla's hand. At least, it looked like hers.

"Alpha," I said quietly, handing it over to Damon. "You need to see this."

*Damon's POV*

My hands trembled slightly as I flipped through the pages. Each sentence cut like a blade. The symbols matched the ones we found near the rogue markings. I didn't want to believe it—but everything pointed to Nyla.

Still… my wolf resisted. My soul screamed it wasn't her.

She stood before me moments later in the council chamber, stunned and shaking. "You think I would betray you?" she asked, her voice cracking.

My eyes met hers, torn between logic and instinct.

"Nyla… this book—this is your handwriting. These details—only you would know some of them."

She stared at me in disbelief. "Someone's framing me. Damon, you *know* me."

The pack members watched in cold silence, Miracle among them, pretending to look shocked—though her eyes glittered with satisfaction.

I turned to Marcus. "She remains under watch until I sort this out."

And to Nyla, "I want to believe you. But I have a pack to protect."

The hurt in her eyes broke something inside me.

And deep in the shadows, Miracle smiled.
