Then the Cloud-nin saw a seemingly gentle young woman, her face mostly hidden except for one flower-petal-shaped eye. However, the pressure she exuded was the strongest he'd ever felt—comparable to the Third Raikage himself.
"This woman... she's even scarier than the Eight-Tails!" He also realized he had fallen victim to a Sharingan-based genjutsu.
At this moment, the Cloud-nin desperately tried every known method he had to break free from the genjutsu, but none worked. Resigned to his fate, he prepared for a life-or-death battle and asked aloud, "Who are you? Let me go, I am an official Cloud-nin."
However, Uchiha Shizhi had no intention of answering. She simply kept rotating the pattern within her Mangekyō Sharingan, emitting a brilliant ray of light that utterly erased the enemy. The illusion created by the dojutsu faded away with the death of the opponent. Naturally, the Cloud-nin's spirit also scattered in the real world, leaving behind a trace of dōkuriki that settled into Shiyu Uchiha's spiritual sea.
When Shiyu Uchiha regained consciousness in the real world, he witnessed the Cloud-nin's body collapsing. As it fell, the enemy's hands naturally loosened their grip on both Shiyu and Saya. Shiyu started coughing violently, and at the same time, he recalled his mother, Uchiha Shizhi.
He had already figured it out—his mother had used the Transcriptive Seal out of concern for his safety, embedding her dōkuriki into his eyes, set to activate automatically when life was at stake, ultimately saving his life.
Soon afterward, Shiyu Uchiha snapped back to reality upon hearing Saya's voice.
"Lord Shiyu, are you okay? You almost scared me to death, I'm sorry. It's my fault—he was just way too fast. I didn't even see him coming before I got caught. I was so scared, meow! But what just happened to your eyes? He died instantly!"
"It's my mother's dojutsu, Saya. Don't speak of it again, understand?" Shiyu Uchiha warned.
"Okay, meow. Lady Shizhi is amazing!" Saya said with admiration, her eyes sparkling like a tiny fangirl.
"You go on guard duty again, I need to recover some chakra," said Shiyu Uchiha, coughing a few times. His entire body felt drained of strength.
Upon hearing Shiyu Uchiha's orders, Saya hurried off to her post, this time far more alert—clearly still shaken from the incident.
In the end, Gekko Ryo was the first to recover, helping both Izuno Hiroshi and Shiyu Uchiha up. Once Gekko had regained his strength, he immediately went to look for the children. Shiyu Uchiha rested a bit longer and was only able to stand again when Gekko returned with the children.
Afterward, Shiyu Uchiha received a signal from Saya. Since the signal indicated it was an ally, Shiyu Uchiha relaxed slightly.
Seeing that the reinforcements were Leaf-nin and, even better, their team leader Jonin—Shinku Yuhi—was already approaching while carrying Saya, Shiyu Uchiha couldn't help smiling. Shinku Yuhi's presence gave him a real sense of relief.
"You kids did better than I expected," Shinku Yuhi said, ruffling Saya's fur affectionately.
But Shinku Yuhi hadn't even finished speaking when he spotted the Cloud-nin on the ground. He hurried forward to confirm the identity, eyes widening in shock as he muttered, "It's him? How is that possible?"
After a closer inspection, he said in disbelief, "No external injuries, didn't even fight before death—killed by genjutsu? Are you kidding me? This is the Cloud's Anbu leader. How the hell did you pull this off?"
As a master of illusions, this defied everything Shinku Yuhi thought he knew. After all, he'd never even dared to dream his own genjutsu could reach such a level. Even the normally composed Shinku Yuhi lost his cool, asking questions he'd never usually consider.
Shiyu Uchiha saw the shock on Shinku Yuhi's face. Thinking for a moment, he sadly realized Tobirama Senju had long since unraveled everything about the Uchiha clan, so there was no point hiding anything now. He spoke, "In that critical moment just now, a last resort left behind by my mother activated and killed him. Was he really that famous?"
Shiyu Uchiha's explanation only made Shinku Yuhi even more stunned: "How could that happen? Isn't your mother still in Konoha? What kind of method is this?" Clearly, this revelation shattered his understanding again, making him feel like he didn't know nearly as much as he thought he did.
"Transcriptive Seal," Shiyu Uchiha explained. "A dojutsu of the Uchiha Clan. It allows one to implant their ocular technique into another person's eyes and activate it when needed. What my mother left in me was probably just a genjutsu."
"Uchiha Clan," Shinku Yuhi sighed in admiration. "Truly a clan with a thousand years of heritage and deep roots." He had always believed his illusion techniques were among the best in Konoha—even daring to challenge a triple-comma Sharingan user with a decent shot at winning.
Only a Sharingan user who specialized in genjutsu might stand a chance against him, and even then, victory wasn't guaranteed depending on actual performance. Yet he never imagined the Uchiha Clan had someone capable of this!
But the current situation was dangerous—the enemy could discover them any moment. Shinku Yuhi stopped his wandering thoughts and sealed the corpse using a sealing scroll. After all, this body was still extremely valuable.
Then Shiyu Uchiha carried the oldest Uzumaki survivor on his back. Gekko Ryo also carried one. Izuno Hiroshi, tall and strong, carried two Uzumaki survivors at once. The group quickly fled toward the Land of Fire.
Saya continued to lead the way while Shinku Yuhi handled erasing their traces and kept watch.
The rest of the journey went smoothly. Once they returned within the Land of Fire and reached a safe location, Shinku Yuhi first had Gekko Ryo and Izuno Hiroshi arrange for the four Uzumaki survivors to rest, then took Shiyu Uchiha to a hidden corner to begin examining the Cloud-nin Anbu leader's brain using ninjutsu.
The examination revealed that besides the Mist, the Cloud had also sent people to attack Whirlpool Country. They even found evidence of Rock and Sand involvement. Their goal was naturally the Uzumaki Sealing Technique.
But there was also an unknown group whose purpose seemed solely the destruction of the Uzumaki Clan. After wiping out the Uzumaki, they didn't fight for the sealing techniques at all. Instead, they focused entirely on hunting down surviving Uzumaki members—an extremely strange behavior, though they hadn't had time to investigate further.
Of course, Shinku Yuhi had also uncovered further intelligence regarding the Cloud ninja, which she intended to report to Hiruzen Sarutobi later.
Afterwards, Uchiha Shiyu discovered numerous sealing techniques from the [Land of Whirlpool], along with various other ninja arts and materials from the enemy's Storage Scroll—particularly a considerable amount of [Medical Ninjutsu]—which pleased him greatly since these were areas the Uchiha clan had always been weak in.
"Shinku-sensei, care to join in? We can make copies for Hiroshi and Ryo too later." The Uchiha and Uzumaki had history—and it wasn't friendly. Uchiha Shiyu had no intention whatsoever of keeping anything secret from this Konoha ally.
