Alina's pov
Aurelius slowly turned around, his hands still in his pocket. He had a lazy but knowing smile on his lips, this wasn't his usual smile.
It seemed like he was trying to tell me something, but what exactly? His eyes lingered on me for a while and I could feel my heart skip a beat.
"What do you think?" He asked his voice calm and cold, before I could respond, the door behind me slowly opened.
Charmaine stepped out of the door, Maggy hanging over her shoulder like an over grown baby.
What could Charmaine not do exactly?
"Alina! Tell this brute to let me down" Maggy half screamed as she slapped Charmaine on the waist.
Charmaine didn't look at me. She just rolled her eyes and bent slightly. Allowing Maggy's feet touch the floor before she straightened up again.
Her eyes turned to look at Aurelius who had a small smirk on his lips. Charmaine just stared at him blankly before walking towards me, she stood behind me quietly.
"Come Maggy, we need to go" Aurelius said, his eyes moving back to me briefly. His gaze lingered on me for long, a hidden message behind his gaze before he headed back to his car.
Maggy enveloped me in a bone crushing hug. "Have fun, babes" she said giggling as she ran after her brother.
I stood rooted in my spot waving at their car till it was out of sight.

Three hours later, I looked at myself in the mirror with a slight frown. I made sure not to do anything over the top since I wasn't considering this a date.
We were just going to check out the new restaurant, maybe Aurelius planned to buy them out or buy the land. I had no idea, I didn't want to buy why didn't it feel that way?
Aurelius hadn't exactly needed a reason to be nice, or charming. He was the Golden boy of our city but he kept a cold profile and had nothing to do with women.
A knock on my room's door made me snap out of my thoughts, I took a deep breath grabbing my black clutch purse and phone as I finally left the room.
As i slowly walked down the stairs, my eyes met the gaze of a deep silver one and I suddenly forgot how to breath. Aurelius had always been a handsome guy but with some sort of cold aure but today he was just... effortlessly beautiful.
He stood up immediately he sighted me with a small smile, he wore a black baggy shirt, with matching sweatpants, his hair was slightly ruffled to the side and the leisure look on his face made me smirk.
I was suddenly greatful to myself that I didn't do anything over the top and managed to make us match. I had chosen a black sweatshirt, black leather mini skirt and matching boots, my green hair was pulled into a ponytail with small jewelries to complete the look.
"You look cute" he said, his hands shoved into his pocket as he ran his eyes over my body, possibly to take in my outfit. I kept my eyes down as I fiddled nervously with the hem of my sweatshirt. "I was half worried but seeing you right now, I feel relieved"
His voice was soft and pleasing to the ears but as he withdrew his eyes from mine slowly looking at Charmaine who was standing behind me, he frowned. "Is she coming with us?"
It was then I finally noticed Charmaine, she was standing behind me with a neutral expression and I almost facepalmed. Here she was ignoring me again while I was trying to get her attention.
Typical.
"Charmaine, you can stay home today" I said firmly.
But Charmaine scoffed making me raise a brow at her. "I can't do that, ma'am"
The 'ma'am' he had just said felt like an insult but no one could notice it. Only I knew the true meaning behind her words.
Her words made me frown. "I thought you were the bodyguard here? Do as you're told"
I knew I sounded rude but at this point I didn't care, I took few step's away from her till I was standing in front of Aurelius. "Shall we?"
I asked him and thankfully he didn't say anything about her. He grabbed my small hand in his big warm ones, before pulling me out of the house.
The restaurant wasn't exactly a restaurant but a night cafe. The dark pink cushioned booths face each other, in other to give the customers room. The white marble tiles shine under the soft white light and I could perceive a slight scent of cinnamon that made me feel relaxed.
With Aurelius, I could be myself. I didn't have to smile or frown when I didn't want to, eyes flickered to our booth occasionally but I couldn't care less. He was a celebrity after all and a sight that was rare to be seen.
We soon got to order and I just went for something simple. Cinnamon rolls with a glass of iced cappuccino, Aurelius ordered some peanut butter and jam sandwich with a bottle of champagne.
"Do you like it?" He suddenly asked as he took a sip of his wine, my eyes slowly looked up from my plate but the god-damned body part of mine decided to look straight as his lips.
As if he was trying to tease me, he ran his cute pink tongue over his lower lips making me gulp.
"Y-yes, it's really good actually" I said with a faint smile but I got a grunt in response.
"You don't have to feel shy, Alina" he began and I slowly fixed my gaze on my plate. "If you didn't want to come, you could have said so. I would've understood"
The absence of his usual arrogance and confidence made me frown, it actually got my off guard. Why was he being so soft? I took a sip of my coffee, clearing my throat briefly.
"Do you have any plans for the week?" I suddenly asked trying to avoid any awkward moments between us.
He didn't avoid the small talks I started. I actually lost track of how many cups of cappuccino I had, but my bladder soon made itself known.
"Aurelius, I need to use the bathroom" I said to him placing my last cup down on the table, he snickered and waved the bodyguard at a corner over.
"Don't stay too long, he would go with you. And you, make sure you return her back here, untouched." Aurelius's voice was back to normal and the guard couldn't help but nod frantically.
As I walked out of the toilet, washing my hand at the sink, I sigh left my lips involuntary. I couldn't get involved with two people at once.
One was a girl, my bodyguard. The other was a guy, my best friend's brother and childhood friend. I was so immersed in my thoughts I had no idea when a lady walked into the toilet.
She wore a red dress with heels that clicked softly against the tiles. As she came to stand beside me, washing something red off her hand, I couldn't help but shake my head.
That looked like bl...blood? My eyes widened briefly but I didn't want to get involved in anything.
"You don't look surprised?" She suddenly asked as she wiped her hands. I pretended I couldn't hear her and reached into my purse for my lipstick.
That seemed rather bold but I didn't care.
"I know you can here me, Alina Monroe" The way my name rolled off her tongue made me snap my head towards her. She had long dark hair that fell over her dress and deep red eyes that matched the dress, a small cut on her cheek but she didn't seem to notice it
This woman seemed too familiar, but I couldn't place where exactly I had seen her.
"Do I know you? And why would you call me Alina?" I needed to get out of this toilet fast. I kept a cool expression on my face as I moved my eyes to the door slowly.
"I'm not wrong and we both know that. It isn't time for me to strike, at least not yet" She laughed softly, taking two steps till her body was pressed against mine. She ran her hand down my cheek, till it was resting against my left breast.
"You are quite charming, I must give you that. Tell your father Princess Phina sends her regards" She moved away from me turning to stare at herself in the large mirror.
"Enjoy your dinner, while you still can"
