"Spear the Gungnir!"
With Remilia's sharp shout, her small hand flipped, and a long crimson spear appeared—its surface crackling with red lightning.
The Divine Spear, Gungnir.
Of course, this was not the real one.
No matter what, Remilia couldn't wield the true Gungnir.
However, the Gungnir held by Odin truly existed—and it was indeed in Remilia's possession. Because of that spear, her awakened ability resembled the Fate series. One of her spell cards was even a replica created from its energy.
Her current spear was a fake modeled after the true Gungnir. Even in Gensokyo, almost no one knew this.
Since she still couldn't control the real one, Remilia could only fight with this replica for now.
Dragging the crimson spear behind her shoulder, Remilia snorted and threw it casually.
In an instant, the spear became a streak of red lightning, tearing through the air.
The atmosphere shook. Space trembled violently. Mist surged chaotically.
Under this spatial disturbance, the fog churned violently.
Amid pained wails, the fog condensed into a humanoid shape.
A vaporized vampire.
Remilia had heard of them. Such vampires also existed in her world.
According to Natsuki, vaporizing vampires in this world came from the First Primogenitor—D-type vampires, closest to traditional legends.
Before her stood a young woman with dark hair flowing in the wind. Her face was sharply beautiful—almost sculpted—but surprisingly youthful. She carried a metal case in her hand, her expression full of fear and urgency.
"So it really is a vampire… This facility's security is awful. Letting someone slip in this easily? Or were you let in on purpose?"
Remilia narrowed her eyes. She despised how vampires in this world "put points in the wrong place," but she wasn't arrogant enough to underestimate everyone.
If intruders could get close to Kaleid Blood No.12 this easily, they would've been robbed ages ago. There was no way this woman was the first.
"Hey, woman. What's your name?"
Remilia glared with full authority.
"Why should I tell you? Please—Ganglot!"
In an instant, a massive three-headed hellhound erupted like it tore open space. A fiery beast—an intelligent aggregation of powerful magic.
Remilia sneered and swept her newly formed spear, shattering the beast—and sending the woman flying as well.
"How… how is that possible…?"
The woman stared, horrified, unable to believe she had been beaten so easily—by a small girl, no less.
But before she could react—
Psh—
Remilia's spear pierced her arm without hesitation.
"Aaaaaaah!"
Magic power burned through the wound.
Remilia didn't finish her off. She tortured her deliberately.
"I won't let you summon another familiar. Now answer me—who are you? Why are you here? What do you know?"
Remilia had lived in Gensokyo a long time. Peace had dulled some of her fangs, but she had still protected the Scarlet Devil Mansion alone after her parents' deaths.
She was over 500 years old—not someone to take lightly.
If she needed to be cruel, she would be cruel.
"Mon… monster…"
The trembling woman stared at Remilia in terror, yet still declared:
"I… I am the daughter of the Caruana family! I won't yield!"
"Caruana? Never heard of them. The Scarlet family is number one!"
Flandre marched forward puffing her cheeks, raising her tiny fists proudly.
Then she transformed back into an innocent child again and asked:
"Hehe, wasn't Flandre right, Sister?"
"Correct. The Scarlet family is the strongest vampire family. Caruana? Never heard of them."
"You—!"
The woman flushed with rage at the blatant insult.
Flandre, meanwhile, looked curiously at the metal case the woman dropped when she was blasted away.
She picked it up.
"What is this?"
Seeing this, the woman screamed hysterically:
"Don't touch it!"
"Uwah—!"
Flandre jumped in fright, dropping the case back onto the ground.
She puffed her cheeks angrily, her eyes turning dangerous.
The woman, oblivious to the danger, struggled desperately with her pierced arm:
"Give it back! Give it back! Give it back now!!"
Noticing Flandre's change, Remilia frowned, slapped her Gungnir against the woman's abdomen—
Boom—
The impact sent the woman sliding backward several meters.
Then—
Crack—
The floor exploded beside her, making her widen her eyes in terror.
"Why did you send her flying, Sister? Flandre almost got to make her go pop~"
Flandre complained cutely, but her words made the woman break into cold sweat.
"She's still useful. And that thing… seems interesting."
Remilia saw the fate lines of the object intertwined with Kaleid Blood No.12.
Fate lines.
Remilia's ability was passive, but that didn't mean she couldn't observe fate.
Without observing fate, how could she tell when someone's destiny changed because of her?
Ignoring the woman, Remilia placed the case before her and opened it.
Inside was a cloth-wrapped object.
She unwrapped it.
A cylindrical metal rod, roughly three to four centimeters thick and under fifty centimeters long. One end was pointed like a nail. Tiny magical runes covered its silver surface.
Remilia frowned slightly. An ancient scent flowed from it.
"Is this… a key?"
The woman's pupils shrank instantly.
Seeing that reaction, Remilia smiled.
"Looks like I'm right."
