Kelly's eyes snapped open, a pained groan slipping out as she pushed herself up. Everything was blurry at first, her vision struggling to adjust after being shut for so long. She clutched her throbbing head, trying to fight through the sharp pain tearing through her skull.
Rowan was sitting against a tree, watching her with clear relief on his face. He looked way better than before—his pale skin already shifting back to its normal, healthy shade.
He lifted his shaky hand halfway and tossed a bottle toward her. She barely caught it and turned her head to look at him.
"Drink it," he said, his voice rough. "Healing potion."
Kelly hesitated for a second, then uncorked it and took a big gulp of the shimmering green liquid.
It tasted like vinegar.
A warm rush spread through her body almost instantly, filling her with a ridiculous amount of energy.
