Chapter 4 - SS0 EP 4

Shin was now sitting in Aizawa's car, right next to him, but all he could do was stare out the window at the menu screen. Text messages were popping up everywhere.

[Due to Player being captured, weekly and monthly missions have been canceled.]

Reading that, he let out a heavy sigh. Damn it.

Aizawa: "What's wrong?"

Aizawa asked casually. For some reason, Shin felt like messing with him a bit.

Shin (Ryojin): "Nothing. Just seeing you made me wonder—do you even take showers? Like, once a year, right?"

Aizawa: "You little punk!"

He snapped back. Just then, the car pulled up in front of the house. Aizawa wrapped his signature scarf around himself as he got out.

Aizawa: "You talk too much. Fine, you're cleaning the house this week."

After saying that, he let Shin out and headed inside. The house wasn't big, more medium-sized, with the exterior paint a bit dull and dark.

Aizawa: "Your stuff's on the second floor, at the end of the hall, then turn right. My room's right across from yours."

He walked in and Shin followed.

Aizawa: "Food's arriving in about five—"

The doorbell rang just as he said that.

Ryojin: "Speak of the devil."

The two of them sat down in the kitchen, a surprisingly quiet spot. They had ordered a bunch of food, but the real highlight was the spicy yakisoba. After a few bites, Aizawa started asking.

Aizawa: "So, why'd you become a peacekeeper?"

Shin: "Like you heard—nothing special."

He said and kept eating like it was no big deal.

Aizawa nodded and continued.

Aizawa: "Get ready for tomorrow. I'm taking you to a skill test."

After that, he stood up, took his plate to the sink, and said:

Aizawa: "See you at 8:30."

Shin: "Yeah, yeah, Dad."

He shot back, half-joking. After washing up, Shin tidied his room, then crashed his head on the pillow. It had been a tiring day with too much going on, so that was enough for now.

Next morning, 6:20 AM

Ryojin woke up and checked the menu screen.

Actually, he had quite a bit of yen from raiding villain hideouts. He'd gotten pretty rich from snatching some of their cash—most he donated to homeless shelters, but the rest went into his new dimensional bag. It could hold up to 10 kilos! Sure, it was pricey, but totally worth it. He opened the bag and checked inside: one million yen. He picked up some cash and sniffed it.

Ryojin: "Money really does smell good."

When asked why he didn't just convert it to coins, he said he was just being cautious, in case of emergencies like this.

Alright, time to work out. He figured he could manage 50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, and 50 squats. Aizawa had set the appointment for 8:30.

.

Skipping ahead...

8:30 AM

Shin was sitting in Aizawa's car, dressed sharply in a black suit, a white collared shirt underneath, black slacks, polished black leather shoes, and a black cloak—pretty much the best outfit he could think of.

Aizawa had told him to dress nicely before heading to UA.

On the way, Aizawa asked about Shin's Quirk—how it worked, if it had any weaknesses—just trying to figure out how to handle him. But Shin, being cheeky as always, replied:

Shin (Ryojin): "No way I'm telling you, you bum."

Before he could finish, the scarf flew up and wrapped tightly around his neck again.

Shin: "Ahh!!"

.

When they finally arrived at UA, Aizawa attached a GPS ankle bracelet onto Shin and explained that he needed to stay within 200 meters. If he wandered farther, the device would alert Aizawa's phone. Shin didn't mind, figuring it was just part of the deal.

.

inside the office, they met several teachers who greeted Shin, but none with much warmth. His past made him a target of distrust for the "righteous" heroes. Shin just kept his eyes forward, saying nothing.

But there was one teacher named Nemuri who gave off a teasing vibe. Shin wasn't usually into MILF types, but hey... if she wanted to play, he wasn't about to complain.

.

Soon after, Aizawa took Shin to an empty classroom labeled A-1. Shin wondered aloud why no one was in there.

Shin: "Why is this room completely empty?"

Aizawa (half-asleep): "Because this year, no one qualified to be a hero in Class A."

He added that he only accepted students who met the standards to be heroes.

Then he handed Shin some paperwork and said:

Aizawa: "From now on, you're working for me. I don't care what excuses you have. This is an order."

Shin grinned widely and shot back:

Shin: "'Orders are made to be disobeyed.' Got it, your highness."

And—of course—the scarf went flying around his neck again.

.

.

.

After finishing the paperwork, Aizawa led Ryojin to the GYM GAMMA, where he was introduced to Class 2-A—about twenty students all decked out in UA gym uniforms. Among them, two stood out as future members of the Big Three:

Hado Nejire — Quirk: Energy Waves

Amajiki Tamaki — Quirk: Can transform his body into whatever food he's eaten

The rest? Not really worth his attention.

Before Ryojin could do anything, Nejire and Tamaki—both looking a little nervous—approached him.

Nejire: "Hi there! Are you a new teacher? What's your name?"

Her bright, innocent smile made Ryojin's heart skip a beat.

Before he could answer, Aizawa and Snatch walked up.

Snatch: "This is Ryojin Kazuma. He's not a teacher or anything. He's the new kid coming in next year."

The students started whispering among themselves.

Aizawa: "We brought him here to test your abilities—and to see if you guys can handle him. You can gang up on him if you want."

Right after that, one of the second-year students raised his hand.

Student: "Uh, sensei, isn't that kinda unfair? He's alone, and there's twenty of us. That's an obvious disadvantage for him."

Aizawa glanced over at Ryojin, then turned back and said with a wide grin:

Aizawa: "This guy took down a criminal gang with over thirty members all by himself."

Mic drop.

Aizawa: "Alright then, you've got fifteen minutes. Go."

.

.

.

At that moment, Ryojin called out his Quirk—two pistols, one black and one white, materialized in his hands, along with a black coffin strapped to his back. Butterflies swirled around him as he readied himself.

.

Every single student who saw Ryojin's Quirk couldn't help but say in unison,

"That's so cool!"

Even Snatch couldn't hide his envy.

Snatch: "Man, I wish I had something like that."

Aizawa: "Start!!!"

His shout snapped every student back to focus, ready to take on the challenge.

Without hesitation, Ryojin started firing shots at the students,

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Most of his shots were aimed precisely at their heads. Some students couldn't dodge or block in time and fell to the ground, butterflies appearing around their bodies like a signature mark of his Quirk.

Others managed to dodge and retaliated with bursts of fireballs, flying rocks, and powerful energy waves— but Ryojin effortlessly dodged them all.

But that was just a distraction.

The real attack came from the side—tentacle-like arms shooting out like squid limbs toward Ryojin.

Tamaki: "Take this!"

Before the grasp could close around him, Ryojin's blinking ability kicked in, and he vanished in a flash, reappearing with a blue aura surrounding him, his speed dramatically increasing.

But there was one thing these students lacked...

That was... ruthlessness and savagery.

Ryojin spat right into Tamaki's eyes.

Tamaki stumbled, trying to wipe the spit away, but before he could react, a powerful punch connected squarely with his face, followed by a brutal strike to the throat that sent him crashing to the ground in pain.

Other students rushed to help, only to be struck back hard—battered with gun handles, blasted with punches to the head and body.

These students were used to fighting villains who weren't too strong, but when faced with true brutality and raw savagery, all they could do was try to hold him down.

But not with Ryojin. He was a battle-hardened veteran. He had taken down more enemies than anyone dared count.

He'd long abandoned any surgical precision once he stepped onto the battlefield.

Bang!

He smashed a student's head onto the stone floor.

Cracked a rib with a punch.

Snapped a finger of one trying to grab him.

Squeezed the balls of another attempting to escape, then kicked him in the back.

And fired his butterfly guns relentlessly at those above him.

Yeah, his heart raced a bit, but sorry —

He beat them all until they were out cold.

He spoke with venom, sowed fear and confusion, fought like a street dog cornered. That was his style.

Snatch turned to Aizawa in disbelief.

Snatch: "Didn't think he could be this brutal."

Aizawa: "Yeah, I agree."

.

.

.

After the test was over, the two teachers called in robots to carry the injured students to the infirmary. Several were badly hurt, some even had broken bones.

Ryojin: "Sigh... whatever."

.

.

Cut to evening, 6:00 PM.

Ryojin sat in Aizawa's car, wearing an expression full of boredom and fatigue.

Aizawa:

"The principal, Nezu, has decided to transfer you to a private school nearby. You'll be starting as a third-year middle school student there."

He paused, then continued.

Aizawa:

"The GPS collar will be removed, but in exchange, you'll wear a quirk control bracelet. There are a few other rules you'll have to follow as well."

Ryojin:

"Whatever works, master beggar."

Aizawa:

"Good. Get ready. Don't disappoint me or the principal."

He handed over a sheet of paper. Printed on it was a picture of the school, labeled:

Soka Kansai Private High School
