Dami had always been cold. Calculated. Controlled.
But after a long company retreat in Abuja, something cracked.
They were walking back to the car when the sky suddenly exploded with rain.
Teni screamed and tried to run, but Dami grabbed her hand.
"Stop," he said.
"We'll get soaked!"
"Then let's get soaked."
They stood in the rain, breathless, laughing like idiots. For once, Dami looked human. Alive. Free.
Then he touched her cheek, his fingers wet and warm.
"Teniola," he whispered.
Her heart pounded.
She waited for him to say something
But instead, he kissed her—again.
Soft. Slow. Like a promise.
And this time, she didn't want it to end.
