"Brother-in-law, look at her!"
"Brother-in-law?" Anna coldly interrupted, asking Mrs. Monroe, "Mom, do you have such a shameless sister?"
"No!"
Mrs. Monroe asked with a composed voice.
Anna smiled disdainfully, making Riley feel both aggrieved and furious.
Ivy held back the tears in her eyes, standing there without saying much.
Anna gave Ivy two slaps, which made her feel much better inside.
"Anna." Miles' face changed seeing his precious darling getting bullied.
Mrs. Monroe quickly blocked his view of Anna, and said, "It's not your place to discipline my daughter!"
She was afraid Miles would hurt Anna further.
Mr. Monroe had mistakenly hit Mrs. Monroe earlier, but doing it again was impossible.
They had been married for years. Despite Mr. Monroe's indifference, they pretended to love each other for so long. Because of Ivy, he felt a bit guilty and reluctant towards Mrs. Monroe.
"Mom, it's fine." Anna responded in a cool voice, "Let him hit me then."
