Axton made a bold front as he walked past the players, heading towards the herd of mountain goats.
His eyes were sharp and senses peaked the closer he got.
Other players who initially intended to take on some of the Horned Goats stepped back, allowing Axton approach as they all wondered what kind of madman he was.
To them, this random player was about to make a fool of him.
Axton reached a spot, some metres away from the rest of the players, and stopped.
He inhaled and exhaled, almost questioning his decision internally.
"Here goes nothing…"
There was only going to be one of two outcomes — either [Battle God] was as overpowered as he expected or it was not and he would be killed, only to respawn later.
Luckily, even if Axton dies here, there would be no much loss since everybody was still level 1.
Axton stood between the goats and the players.
Noticing that presence of the human, the Horned Mountain Goats' eyes glinted with animosity as they all focused their gaze and killing intent on Axton.
He was going to be another victim of their united charge.
With their numbers advantage, all they needed was to hit him hard once or twice, and in the hardest case scenario, three times and Axton would die and crumble into pixels.
Axton knew that was exactly how things were planned to play out but he was still not shaken one bit.
*Ding*
[Your talent, Battle God, has been activated]
'That's more like it,' Axton thought as he tightened his grip around the handle of his axe.
[Enemies detected!]
[Battle God effect initiated! Calibrating stats…]
Axton couldn't help but hold a smug face.
If any of the other players could see him right now, they would wish his downfall for such a cocky expression.
Axton was excited that [Battle God] was the real deal.
The game's system was indeed adjusting his stats according to the number of enemies he was up against, just like the description for [Battle God] had stated.
The more his enemies, the stronger he got.
The herd method of attacking that has killed many of the players that came to this mountain side was actually not a worry for Axton.
If anything, it was a favourable condition for someone like him to be.
[Number of enemies detected : 150]
[Your Attack points have increased by 1% per enemy]
[Total increase: 150%]
"He hasn't moved an inch even when he can clearly see the goats charging towards him at full speed."
"He's scared shitless! Hahaha!"
"That's what you get for being cocky."
"Bro thought he was a superhero or something."
"Death here causes pain in real life. Maybe after he experiences it, he will learn to listen to others."
"I know right? My right shoulder is still sore."
"It's too late to even give up now."
Some of the players even yelled both words of advice as well as curses at him.
Some did this out of genuine concern, and some others did it out of spite.
Little did they know that they were about to be disappointed.
*Slash*
Axton swiftly swung down his axe as the first goat that tried to attack him with its horns turned into particles immediately.
Axton smirked.
'One shot kill. Goodness gracious, this shit is really crazy!'
Axton took down the goat and a few more in single strikes, without breaking a sweat.
With [Battle God], his attack got an increase of 150% this meant that Axton was now fighting at 250% of his original Attack power.
This was crazy!
*Swoosh*
With one swift swing after another, Axton took down yet another goat.
-10 HP!
With 150% increase to his attack power, the Horned Mountain Goats defense of 4 was not going to do anything against that axe of his, and with only 10 HP allocated to the goats, one successful hit was enough.
Jaws of his spectators dropped and hit the ground as they watched with disbelief how a single player was soloing an entire herd of Mountain Goats that gave every other person trouble.
"That's impossible!"
"That guy is strong!"
"How? Is he cheating or something?"
"We are 5 in my team and we are still finding it difficult to kill them."
"The crazy thing about this is that he is one-shotting them. That is unbelievable."
Axton successfully shut up his haters, leaving them speechless and their minds trying to understand what they had just witnessed.
They couldn't make sense of it.
They were all still level 1 players, meaning that no one has leveled up yet.
How then did Axton manage to achieve this feat?
Was his attack power always so high? Even if it was, he should be lacking either in defense or agility, but Axton clearly matched the speed of the mountain goats.
While they were all still shocked, Axton was busy picking up his drops — the horns of the mountain goats, which dropped after the goat that was killed disappeared.
*Ding*
[You have obtained 1 Mountain Goat horn!]
[100x Critical Hit effect initiated! You have earned two packages]
[You can only choose one]
[100 Mountain Goat horns or 1 Great Goat horn]
Axton read about the second item which he was just hearing for the first time.
Even Iron Buck did not mention anything about a Great Goat horn.
Was this also a perk that came with the critical hit bonus?
Axton did not know.
Regardless, Axton stuck with what was originally given to him in the mention.
"100 Mountain Goat horns."
Axton made his choice and abandoned the Great Goat horn. After all, the Great Goat horn was useless to him.
From what he had read, it was needed to make poison tonics and Axton had no use for that at this moment.
Axton was very excited because with 100 horns, he had met the highest tier of Iron Buck's reward.
While he was happy to get the cloth armour and pair of shoes, he was happier about the weapon to come.
The goats fled for their lives.
Seeing how Axton messed with their kind, they knew he couldn't be defeated by them.
As they fled, Axton was relieved.
"This guy…" one of the players that watched thought with a glint of admiration in their eyes.
"He most likely has an A or S rank talent."
