Chapter 1 - Necromancer System

As the evening sun started setting, casting a long shadow and covering the lonely village, Autumn Willow Village.

A group people was on their way towards the village.

The group was made of 7 people. Five of them were children or rather teenagers and two of them were adult.

They were on a bullock cart carrying by a strong healthy black bull.

Most of the children were showing dejected look, except for one. It was a boy with black short hair. His face was beaming with proud smile.

And among the children who were in the dejected mood was Liu Fang.

The adults, however, didn't show any reaction to all of it. Like they were used to that kind of scene.

And the whole reason for all that was a very special thing.

Just that morning, the group went to the nearest city, Falling Moon City. The city was so called because it was believed that once a part of them fell there.

The group went to the Falling Moon City to get the teenagers check for any Immortal fate.

To participate in the Immortal fate, one must be between the ages of 14 and 17.

Luckily for the group, one of the teenagers was found to have spiritual root. The others were not so lucky.

That's the whole reason why the children were so down on their mood.

But that was particularly so bad for Liu Fang. Except for him, the others have more chances in the coming years. Because he was already seventeen, his chance to awaken a spiritual root was over.

For people like him, poor and helpless. Becoming an Immortal cultivator was the only and heaven given chance.

But, as the heaven was always against him. This time was not so different.

Feeling devastated and down, Liu Fang didn't even realize when they arrived back at the village.

With a blank look, he instinctively left the group and went back to his house.

Few distance away from the other houses, his house was at a remote corner with no other houses in site. A lonely house.

When he arrived at his own house, it was already dark.

Liu Fang directly went into the bedroom and pulled out a box full of wine jars.

Then, he sat down on the foot of his small bamboo bed. With a dejected look, he took one of Jat and drank down the wine.

Before long, he was already on his last jar. By the time he finished the last wine jar, he was already too intoxicated and too weak to stand up.

But, surprisingly, his mind was clear with no sign of being intoxicated.

Using the last bit of his strength, he tried to stand up and climb onto his bed.

However, his leg gave out and Liu Fang fell on the floor.

As he felt the falling, he murmured the word. "Why?"

It was not because he could not climb onto his bed. But because he felt the heaven was too unfair to him.

Plop...

As he hit the floor, Liu Fang went unconscious.

-----

Liu Fang, a boy at the age of 17.

When he was born, his mother left the world giving birth to him. His father was devastated by that. And from then on, his everyday life was accompanied by alcohol.

By the time Liu Fang was 12 years old, hia father was too weak to survive. So, when the winter came that year, he also left the world.

From then on, Liu Fang survived on his own.

Since he was too poor and illiterate, his only way of surviving was to chop logs for the people of the village.

But that could only afford his one day meal.

So, when he first heard of the Immortal fate convention, he was thrilled. But all of that vanished when he could not awaken his spiritual root even after trying for 3 times.

And like his father used to do, he also turned to the only thing he could think of. And that is the alcohol.

------

The next day, Liu Fang woke up to the sound of someone calling him.

It was a familiar villager calling to tell Liu Fang to choose his logs.

With a dizzy and heavy head, Liu Fang woke up on the cold floor.

But even so, he still met the villager.

When the man saw Liu Fang's skeleton like body, his eyes showed some pity but but quickly concealed it.

In a firm tone, he said. "I want you to finish choping the logs by tomorrow. If not, you are not getting any money. Got it?"

With his staggering body and blank look, Liu Fang nodded weakly. "Yes, uncle."

After the man left, Liu Fang came out to the small yard in front of his house. But instead of doing his daily chopping, he sat down on a log.

Then, he took a deep breath, trying to clear his clouded mind.

By the time, he opened his eyes, something changed.

Like a man who got a rare second chance in life, his face was unusually bright.

"So, I was reborn in this world." He murmured to himself softly.

With a smile, he murmured. "I knew it. The heaven never abandoned me."

"Now, let's see what you can do." Liu Fang called out something.

"System."

[Here.]

Hearing the AI like voice in his head, Liu Fang's smile even more.

"Tell me what you can do."

[Necromancer.]

Hearing that, Liu Fang's smile stopped midway.

"What!?" He said that out loudly.

----

Today, when he woke up. Liu Fang found out that he was actually an reincarnated person and just last night he awakened his memories. And along with that came a simple system.

But, it was unlike what he thought. Instead of a cultivation system or anything like that. It was a necromancer system.

------

With his smile still stuck on his face, he asked once again. "But, you can help me start cultivating right?"

[Cultivation? This system is only for necromancer.]

A simple forward but brutal answer.
