Chapter 104 - Chapter 23: Feixiao — “Anything about you… I could never forget.”

Ps. (This novel is currently completed. You can read it on Patreon.)

"Can you really perfect the Draconic Transformation Method… and restore a way for the Vidyadhara to reproduce?"

At the dinner table, Longyue stared at Wei Yi with barely contained excitement, her gaze locked on him so hard it was practically a threat—

If you dare mess with me, I'll punch you.

"Why would I lie to you about that?"

"Fine!" Longyue slapped her chest, brimming with confidence. "What help do you need? Anything! Say the word—no matter what I'm doing, I'll be in front of you immediately!"

"How confident are you?" Hua asked from the side, her tone careful and concerned.

She cared about the Vidyadhara issue deeply. After all, the Vidyadhara were one of the foundations of the Xianzhou Alliance. Unlike the Xianzhou people—who needed population control—the Vidyadhara had the opposite problem.

They wanted children.

But they truly couldn't have them.

"How confident?" Wei Yi scratched his head. "Hard to say. If you're only asking for 'creating new Vidyadhara,' I can actually do that right now."

He smiled and held up two fingers.

"I've collected quite a bit of Propagation authority. Using it is still possible—like… 'point at someone and they get pregnant.'"

The moment those words left his mouth, everyone at the table quietly scooted their chairs back.

Most of them were women.

Though—there were still one or two pairs of eyes that flickered with… interest and anticipation.

Honestly, an ability like that in Wei Yi's hands was absurdly overpowered.

With his level, he could probably get an entire planet's worth of women pregnant in an instant.

No—given how unfair authorities were, even men would probably end up pregnant too.

Authorities didn't negotiate. They simply happened.

"Of course, I'm not going to use that." Wei Yi waved it off with a sigh. "Are you telling me that every time the Vidyadhara want newborns, they'd have to recruit a batch of girls and have me play 'the Goddess of Fertility'? That's way too deranged. If you want me to treat gynecology, sure. But that? Forget it."

"Once I perfect the Draconic Transformation Method, you won't need anything that ridiculous."

Even so, Wei Yi was speaking boldly—but in truth, he only had a rough outline in mind for how to perfect it.

He'd asked Yingxing and Dan Heng before. The time the method ended with Bailu giving birth had involved a certain coincidence.

And that coincidence was something only Wei Yi could reproduce.

Because now that Shuhu was dead… only Wei Yi still possessed something like the flesh of an Abundance Emanator.

"Good, good, good—once you really succeed, the Vidyadhara are absolutely going to put you on an altar and burn incense for you!" Longyue grew more and more excited as she spoke.

As the Dragon Sovereign, she looked unserious on the surface, but she truly cared about her people.

No Vidyadhara Dragon Sovereign wasn't anxious about population.

But anxiety didn't help.

Other than Dan Feng, nobody could properly handle the Draconic Transformation Method. They'd had to look for other solutions.

And now Wei Yi was saying he could solve the Vidyadhara's greatest pain.

Forget "an improved Draconic Transformation Method"—even if Wei Yi personally used authority to make people pregnant, plenty of Vidyadhara girls would offer themselves for the sake of the race.

If Wei Yi had any ulterior motives, the Vidyadhara would become his harem overnight.

Wei Yi even estimated: if he said something like—

"Longyue, you don't want the Vidyadhara to be unable to reproduce forever, do you?"

With Longyue's personality, she might actually agree on the spot.

They were close enough that she wouldn't feel like she was "losing out" by giving herself to him.

Besides… without Wei Yi, Longyue would've died long ago.

Watching Longyue get more and more worked up, Wei Yi sighed.

"Alright, eat first. This won't be done in a moment. Even for me, it'll take a few days… maybe ten days to half a month."

"What? Only that long?" As soon as he said it, everyone stared at him in shock.

From their perspective, ten days to half a month was nothing short of miraculous.

They were prepared for decades, centuries—even within a hundred years would've been an unimaginable blessing.

It was just the time perception gap: long-lived beings versus normal people.

Wei Yi was long-lived now too, but his mindset hadn't fully shifted.

To him, ten days already felt like a long grind—unless it was that kind of jail sentence like farming a double-crit artifact goblet…

One run after another, silent suffering, half a year without a usable drop.

Eventually he'd made peace with it: time was money. If it wouldn't drop, then stop chasing it—main stat is good enough.

"What else would it be?" Wei Yi said, scratching his head at their reactions.

"Good! Once you really do it, I'll personally have the Dragon Elders carry a sedan chair and welcome you to Scalegorge Waterscape like a deity! Anyone who hits you is hitting the Vidyadhara's own father!"

Longyue clapped as she spoke, practically vibrating with excitement.

"Restraint," Wei Yi said, sweating a little as she looked ready to pounce him. "Restraint."

"Restraint?" Longyue snapped. "If you can restore Vidyadhara fertility, I'll go back and smash the Dragon Sovereign statue and replace it with yours! Not just Yaoguang—every Xianzhou's statue. I'll go persuade them one by one. If persuasion doesn't work, I'll smash them myself!"

"Alright, Longyue—calm down." Feixiao raised a hand to stop her. "You know Wei Yi's capabilities. In a fight he might be a little lacking… but in everything else, he's top-tier."

"Exactly." Wei Yi nodded with a grin. "No need to be that dramatic. The rest of the Vidyadhara can do whatever. But you—from now on, remember to salute when you see me. And use honorifics when you speak."

"Heh—you…" Longyue twitched like she was about to explode.

Then she remembered this man was not someone she could provoke.

So she forced it down.

Fine. You're the boss. Can't afford to mess with you.

A lavish banquet passed amid the sea of flowers.

Cangxing—revived by Wei Yi—was stunning just by its scenery alone. Once everything settled, it could even become a tourist planet and bring the locals a decent income.

After dinner, for the first time in ages, Wei Yi and Feixiao returned to their home on Yaoguang.

"Feels like I've gone out more in the past few days than in the last five years combined," Wei Yi muttered.

Lounging back in his chair, he hugged the quiet Feixiao Catcake beside him and kneaded it lazily.

Back then he'd brought six Catcakes back from Ruan Mei. Other than this Feixiao one, he'd already gifted the rest to their "originals."

When Sushang saw the Catcakes, she'd looked like she wanted to leap onto him and kiss him on the spot.

Girls had no resistance to this kind of thing.

And honestly… neither did Wei Yi.

Whoever invented Catcakes was a genius.

Oh—right. She was a genius.

Never mind.

"Ever since our identities were exposed, it's been nonstop until now," Wei Yi said, flopping even further back. "Finally, I can rest a little. I'm just missing a cigarette to complete the vibe."

"But from here on, it should be quieter for a while," Feixiao said, smiling as she lifted the Feixiao Catcake out of his arms, making space—then simply slid herself into his lap. "Until the enemies figure out what you can really do, they won't dare act rashly."

"I'm not actually that tired," Wei Yi admitted. "It's just that there's always something to do, so it looks busy. Honestly, it feels like I haven't even gotten many chances to really make a move."

He wrapped his arms around her waist, his chin brushing her white hair. Her fluffy ears tickled his cheek, making it itch.

"Mhm. You don't need to move," Feixiao said softly. "You only need to stay behind me. Everyone has their role. No matter how strong someone is, they can't do everything alone. And if you weren't behind me… I couldn't charge forward without worries."

Feixiao's lips curved.

Back then, she'd been powerful but chained by Moon Frenzy—having strength that could touch the heavens, yet unable to use much of it.

After meeting Wei Yi, everything changed.

No matter how wildly she fought, Moon Frenzy never flared.

Back when their identities weren't exposed, Feixiao had wondered about it—but she'd chalked it up to "Wei Yi being weird."

Now, thinking back…

Sleeping together for five years and neither of them realizing each other's true identity—

It was absurd beyond words.

A "thought imprint" really was terrifying. Neither of them had even considered the possibility, so five years slipped by in a blink.

"Feels like it's been a long time since we went for a walk," Wei Yi suggested. "Let's go out."

"Mm."

Feixiao flipped over neatly, got off him, smoothed the wrinkles in her clothes, then reached out her hand.

They shared a smile.

Wei Yi took her hand.

Even as an old married couple, he still couldn't help marveling—

This soft, boneless little hand…

Could throw a punch that shattered stars.

Humans—mysterious, right?

The brilliant star river shone overhead, the weather clear enough to see distant constellations, while below, the bustling streets glittered in reply.

Before they realized it, Wei Yi and Feixiao had wandered into a lively market district.

Under warm lighting, the street looked like a flowing tapestry of color—neon flashing, lights weaving together, gorgeous yet full of life.

Ahead was a tide of people, noisy and bright, with children's shouts rising now and then.

A breeze lifted strands of Feixiao's hair. Light spilled across her face, leaving her looking like a goddess descended.

Watching a young couple walking hand-in-hand nearby, Feixiao smiled faintly.

"Do you remember this place?"

"How could I forget?" Wei Yi shook his head.

This was where they'd first met.

And where they'd had their first date.

"You were standing right there," Wei Yi said, pointing at the spot where several lights converged.

Back then, he'd turned his head as if sensing something. And there she was, standing under the lights, smiling at him like a fairy.

"Not to embarrass myself, but… I'd already decided back then whether we'd have a son or a daughter first after we got married," Wei Yi said, rubbing his chin.

That was the kind of thing he'd never have dared say when they'd only just met.

That's how an otaku worked: a beautiful girl treats him kindly once, and he's already planning how many kids they'll have—

Not realizing most people only meant it as casual friendliness.

"So do you want a son or a daughter?" Feixiao tilted her head slightly, looking at him.

"If it was back then, I'd definitely want a sweet daughter," Wei Yi said with a grin. "But now we already have Xiaoguang, so… having a bratty son wouldn't be bad either."

"Bias," Feixiao said, rolling her eyes. "Just the way you name them—you clearly favor the daughter."

"Do I?" Wei Yi asked, completely unaware.

As they talked, ahead of them Li Zhenran and Aisia walked up to a stall. In Wei Yi and Feixiao's gaze, Li Zhenran picked up a hair ornament and put it on Aisia. She returned a sweet smile.

Then the two of them walked past Wei Yi and Feixiao as if they hadn't seen them at all.

That was Wei Yi's ability.

If they appeared openly on the street now, they'd be surrounded instantly.

Wei Yi's face wasn't fully exposed, but Feixiao's was—after her public feat, she was practically a household name. People could probably recognize her from a silhouette.

No one would dare behave wildly—but they'd absolutely approach carefully asking for photos, and it would turn into endless hassle.

So Wei Yi erased their "presence."

To others, they were no more noticeable than two specks of lifeless dust.

"Speaking of which," Wei Yi mused, "I remember on our first date, there was trouble here too, wasn't there?"

If it were just trouble, he wouldn't remember it so clearly.

But that incident had been the turning point where their relationship heated up rapidly.

A group of criminals rushed into the market. Feixiao—who still didn't know Wei Yi's identity—protected him by scooping him up in a princess carry, pressing him into her arms, and bringing him somewhere safe.

And that soft, warm sweetness…

Wei Yi still hadn't forgotten it.

So girls really did smell like milk?

Back when they were in harsh battlefield conditions, survival came first—he hadn't even had the mental space for thoughts like that.

But once Yaoguang stabilized…

Well.

Things changed.

And Feixiao—who was she?

She wasn't the type to blush easily.

She used that opportunity to tease Wei Yi thoroughly.

"I remember you blushed back then," Feixiao said, watching him with interest, wanting to see that expression again.

Too bad. Wei Yi's skin had gotten thicker over time. Those pure, shy reactions were gone forever.

"I was just suffocating," Wei Yi retorted stubbornly. "You were pressing my head into your chest like your life depended on it."

"The mighty Abundance Emanator… blushing from lack of oxygen?" Feixiao leaned close, smiling with narrowed eyes, staring straight into his.

"And the mighty Hunt Emanator… screaming because of that kind of thing?" Wei Yi smiled back.

"That's not the same!" Feixiao instantly panicked.

"How is it not the same?" Wei Yi kept smiling.

"It's just not!" Feixiao resorted to shamelessness, forcibly twisting the topic away.

No more talking about that.

This street carried countless memories for them. Feixiao chatted nonstop beside him, while Wei Yi relaxed and simply listened.

"You know…" Wei Yi said after a while, "I originally planned to talk to you about moving."

"Why would you want that?"

"Because our identities are exposed now," Wei Yi said, shaking his head helplessly. "Even if the neighbors are all good people, it's still going to feel a bit awkward. I don't think being a general makes you 'nobler' than others—but a general is still a general. Living among ordinary people comes with inconveniences."

Feixiao caught the flaw immediately.

"So you changed your mind?"

"Yeah." Wei Yi smiled. "I think it's nice here. As for the neighbors… let them adapt. We're big shots of the Xianzhou Alliance—being a little willful is fine, right?"

"And why?" Feixiao asked.

"Simple." Wei Yi took two steps forward, then turned to face her.

"Because when I take our son out shopping in the future, I can tell him what happened to me and his dad here, and what happened there. These are our memories. Once we have a kid, that's a whole library of stories to tell. And with so many 'anchors' like this… I don't think my memories could ever fade."

"They won't," Feixiao said, shaking her head gently as she looked at him. "Anything about you—I keep it locked in my heart. I could never forget a single thing."

"Hiss… a flash-stab I'm supposed to be able to block, and you land it anyway?" Wei Yi sucked in a breath.

This girl—

She was starting again, wasn't she?

"If you don't accept it, then you can do the same to me!" Feixiao puffed her chest out, acting willfully.

Go ahead and show off. You'll be the one crying tonight, begging me to lower the multiplier and slow down.

Wei Yi looked at her smug expression and clicked his tongue.

You're only able to be cocky at times like this.
