Chapter 43 - Episode 43: Trap

Lynn stared at the screen, her reflection dimly visible in the laptop's black frame as the video ended. Victim after victim, all tied to Jayden. All silenced.

This wasn't just revenge anymore. This was justice.

Michael stood behind her, tense. "Do you want to leak this too?"

Lynn shook her head. "Not yet. First, I need him to feel the noose tighten. He needs to look around and realize there's no way out."

She turned to him, fire in her eyes. "We'll let him trap himself."

The next day, Lynn showed up at a public charity gala—wearing crimson red.

Cameras flashed, reporters buzzed, and every eye turned to her as she walked in like she owned the place. She did not hide. She wanted Jayden and Mokoena to see her—to know she was still standing.

To know she wasn't scared.

Whispers followed her every step. The scandal had broken, and now people were watching. Waiting. Siding.

Jayden was already inside. When their eyes locked across the room, his mask of charm cracked for a split second.

Lynn smiled.

She walked straight to him, glass of champagne in hand.

"Enjoying the attention?" he asked, voice low and dangerous.

"Very much," she replied, clinking her glass lightly against his. "I didn't realize humiliation suited you."

Jayden's smile thinned. "You've always been good at theatrics, Lynn. But I wonder how long you'll last once the stage lights go off."

She leaned in. "Long enough to watch you burn."

Back at the café, Michael was setting up the final phase. Hidden cameras. Microphones. A fake insider. Everything was in motion.

"Tomorrow," he said as Lynn returned. "Jayden thinks he's coming for a secret meeting with a whistleblower."

"And he'll bring his ego," Lynn replied, dropping her earrings on the counter. "Which means he'll talk too much."

Michael nodded. "We'll get everything."

---

Meanwhile, Jayden got into his car, hands clenched on the steering wheel.

"She wants a war," he growled. "I'll give her one."

In the passenger seat, Mokoena handed him a small, black pistol.

"End it."
