Chapter 3
"Are you out of your fricking mind Meri?! How can you trust this guy, he's with the Dark Kingdom, he's a god dang VAMPIRE for crying out loud!" Kalix argues with me. "But if he wasn't trustworthy he would've killed us by now, I trust him because he is on our side." I protest. Ravyn's gaze softens, I feel his silver eyes calming. "I believe Merilica is right, we would be dead if he wasn't stable.." Erin agrees. "Ugh, fine, I guess he can be trusted." Kalix reluctantly says. "So what's the plan then?" Ravyn asks. "We are going to face the Vampire Queen in the Dark Kingdom, but first we need to get through the Forest of Serenity to get an ancient crystal, Luxorian, that would vanquish her, and the forest is between the Mountain of Alysheria, our home, and the Mountain of Necrasyn, the Dark Forest, this quest should take about a couple weeks or a month tops." I explain to them. "Got it." Says Erin. "Do we get started then?" Kalix questions me. I grin, replying, "Absolutely." I could sense that my brother was still skeptical of Ravyn, but I'm not sure why I feel it from Erin too, he isn't the kind of person to judge, he is usually very forgiving and silly. Maybe that vampire did change him in ways I didn't believe were possible... And I may need to protect him now.. Especially if it's my fault. After setting up camp that night outside the palace gates, I walk up to Kalix, whispering, "Hey Kal, I need a favor.." He glares at me, quietly retorting, "What is it Meri?? Need me to kill a rabbit because either you're powerless or just too chicken to do it yourself?" I grumble, but now I get vulnerable while I ask, "No, for this journey, can you please keep an eye on Erin.. He's my best friend and.. I'm worried about him now that he got hurt.." He gets tense, then turns his head toward Erin, I think I might even see him blushing at him when he says, "Oh.. Y-Yeah, of course I will for him.." I was thinking of asking something about him and Erin, but decided against it, but why would he even look at him like that? Like he yearns for him to be around?? I still feel the unusual cold gaze of Erin at the back of my neck, why do I sense a cruel emotion from him?? And who is it towards?? TO BE CONTINUED..
