The meeting started normally. The red haired guy turned out to be the leader of the expedition team. As much as he looked very funny and unserious but as he started to give his reports with the map on the board in front of them he looked completely different
"The team has found too many dead bodies or bones of wild animals that's different from usual predator animal behavior. As we proceeded to check the trees, a lot of them had huge claw marks"
Sylvian looked very serious as well unlike how smiley he usually looks
"Anything like big footprints to locate the entity Sir Howard?"
'Spoken like a true protagonist. Straight to point'
Mimir thought as she was planning her own plot in head.
"That's what is weird guild leader"
The blonde girl spoke up this time
"When I lead the stealth team with me to locate the entity we found three different paths that had his huge footprints. Which is why we had to come back as we're not aware of the level of danger"
Then Howard spoke up again
"Like dame Nicole said,we couldn't take the risk without knowing what was waiting for us and Sir Conrad went back to the main guild to prepare just in case the situation gets more serious."
'If I target the spot of the love interest of Sylvian I'll need to capture the heart of people surrounding him.. He might start liking me through the surrounding pressure. To do that this situation seems the best way. If my plans succeed I'll capture their heart if not his protagonist halo will save him.
After forming a plan in her head her chains of thought were broken by Kyra's voice
"Guild leader, if we all are going to investigate than allow me to lead the stealth team as Same Nicole second in charge"

Shrugging her head she looked around seeing everyone signing up for the unknown entity hunt.

"I know I might not be physically strong.. but my ability can help you all out in this forest.. From the sounds of it, it seems like a dangerous entity. So please allow me to go with you guys"
Mimir's words had no value at cost. A resonating mage? She will have zero contribution in battle just in case.

Howard spoke up and others also started agreeing little by little
"I agree. It's not easy as not all of our troops are the strongest like the elite team. So Ms.Mimir's ability will come in handy"
Sylvian stood up nodding
"Then it's decided. Ms.Mimir will join our expedition to hunt down this entity"
A Few Hours Later
Everyone prepared for the fight against the beast. The stealth team had already left ahead of everyone. Kyra hesitantly agreed to do her part in Mimir's plan. Soon enough the time for Sylvian's team to leave came but then a problem arose. According to the troops in charge of management they didn't have a horse for Mimir as she had joined them unexpectedly. Mimir could swear she remembers reading such scenes in cliche novels a lot of times.
'Is this world helping me out?'
Mimir thought to herself and as expected Sylvian came forward
"Ms.Mimir can ride my horse. My horse is fast enough so It won't be left behind as well"
Mimir smirked to herself as she looked at him with the sweetest smile she could make yet as beautiful as the moonlight
"Thank you Lord Sylvian!"
Soon enough with the help of Sylvian Mimir got on his horse and Sylvian led his guild members who seemed like Npc's to the direction of the center of the forest.
The way to the center on a horse felt sort of uncomfortable to Mimir. She didn't have an experience on riding horse let alone at such speed. She clinged on Sylvian's cloak to not fall off.
Soon enough they reached near center but the path was not suitable for horses. As commanded by Sylvian everyone got down of their horse and they started to Walk. Mimir walked right behind Sylvian acting quite serious
"What if the horses get attacked?"
Mimir's question made Sylvian chuckle and Mimir could swear she has heard that type of laugh before
"The horses are trained to leave the spot immediately if danger looms close to them. So do not worry Ms.Mimir."
"I see"
Mimir muttered as they reached the place Dame Nicole spoke of. Three different roads leading to the unknown entity.
'The monster will most definitely be on the road Sylvian goes'
Mimir thought to herself while Sylvian was dividing the team in three.
"The second team will go to the third road. IT seems like the least way the entity can be. Go and gather information if you can on the beast"
Mimir already believed that she was gonna be on the same team as Sylvian but to her surprise Sylvian had different plans
"The first team will go to the first route and check for casualties or the beast including Ms.Mimir. As it doesn't reek of the abyssal energies of monsters."
"I will lead the third team to the second route. The scratches on these trees are fresh."
If it was a fiction you could hear glass shattering as background noise with Mimir's case.
'WHAT?! HE SENT ME THE OTHER WAY?!'
"Uhm.. Sir Sylvian?"
"Yes Ms.Mimir?"
Sylvian asked as everyone gathered their weapon and divided themselves in their own teams.
"I thought I was gonna be in the same team as you.."
"My apologies Ms.Mimir I cannot risk your life when you're not even officially my guild member"
Mimir could almost feel her vein pop but he was right. He never said she'd be in his team before
'dangit! Fine I'll go the other way. I'll just rush to his location when the plan activates'
Mimir stress thought as she started walking with the first team . The team didn't speak much with Mimir, clearly not interested in her except for a few times asking if she was alright. Everything seemed to go well until Mimir felt it. The bone chilling eeriness and silence from the front. And with Mimir's experience with fictions this is never a good situation. Looking around she realized a few in the team felt it too.
'No way! If Kyra's beta game is right Sylvian is the one who finds the monster '
Mimir calmed herself down . Keeping focus and moving forward. Until they reached the end of their route. As Mimir was about to let a sigh of relief out everyone in team started to panic. The one in the front got pulled inside with long tube like thing which was reeking of some kind of odor.
"THE ABYSSAL ENERGY!! IT'S THE UNKNOWN ENTITY"
Mimir gasped as one of the teammates screamed that out
