A heartbeat is all I would need to recall your brilliance. How fortunate I had been to have you as the last thing to swipe through my eyes before closing them.
Heart of mine that is entirely swallowed by your divine, Mademoiselle. Your flames are the cause for me entirely to have them open again.
The endless flames and rumbles do not disturb me, as they were caused by you.
The faint breaths I can still take are filled with the purpose of seeing you again.
I would die happy knowing you were the last thoughts in my head.
I moved up, scatering the rumbles where I had landed on previously.
Nexr I dusted off my hat before wiping the mask on my face. The cane in ny hand slightly damaged by the impact.
Oh dear Aniel, my eyes searched for you within the millions. It's agonising to see that I still havent made sure that you are completely safe and sounded.
I'm bewitched by the thoughts of something terrible happening with my absence. When you would choose me to accompany you, you have no clue what happiness that fills my heart with.
I'm a guardian, a lover, a jester or even a madman when it comes to you. If it means to have see you smile for a split second then I would happily lay my life for you.
My gaze ran once more to look for her. The words stuck to my throat.
Should I call you Mademoiselle like I always do or I make myself so blessed to call your name once.
A filthy mouth of mine, uttering your name divine? How could I dare make myself so privileged?
I refrained my mouth to call by your name but still my soul asked for an exception.
My lips were left tended, as they slowly moved to voice out.
"Ms. A- aniel..."
My lips quivered with delight and guilt.
I have broken my own law because of my undying desires.
"Ms. Aniel!"
The second time, it got easier.
"Ms. Aniel!!"
The pleasure of voicing her name was immaculate. Oh the bliss of mine.
Suddenly, a shadow rushed past the ruins. The hopes I carried hurried me to pronounce again.
"Ms. Aniel?"
But fate answered my prayers with cruelty. The shadow that emerged was not my muse. It was misfortune given form.
A demon
Alas a demon somehow remained. I thought her plan was too perfection. That's a disappointed, I expected more from her.
A thin, long tongue dangled from its mouth, and scales ran throughout its body. A serpent from the lower half and a human body from the upper abdomen.
What a vile creature.
To have such a loathsome creature walk the same land as my ethereal one was infuriating.
My blade, disguised as a cane, was revealed. Slowly, I began to see the stage appear.
My stage was a mixture of black and white. Symbols of yin and yang circled beneath my feet.
I stood on the dark, small circle of yang, while the serpent stood in yin. She had definitely noticed my presence on the stage.
"Your ssstage is beautiful," she hissed.
"Save your words, demon."
I pulled my sword from the cane.
'WOOOSSHHHHH!!!!'
Out of nowhere-
Her scales stood up.
Her pupils thinned into a line.
Her upper body resembled that of a teenage girl, with light faded pink wedge-cut hair and four medium-length horns resting like a crown upon her head. From her arms to her fingertips, violet scales were present, along with blue markings on her right cheek. Her pale complexion was a contrast to the brightly coloured scales.
Her face was a trap.
People would mistake her for a young demon, but only the one above knew her true age.
Her arms were crossed over her chest, and she bore a hostile look.
Compared to my Mademoiselle, she was merely salt in the ocean.
The one in front of me was petite, her bones almost visible beneath her skin, but my solace was somewhat more muscular in comparison.
The only similarity I could pinpoint was the solemn watch within her eyes.
The stare of an unyielding flame.
That simple similarity almost made me want to spare her.
"This is great. I had to give up that elf for the big guy. But thankfully, there is another human here."
Elf...
"A male elf?"
She wore a confused expression at my question, yet she still answered.
"Yes-"
A gust of relief came over me.
"Thank you for clarifying. For that, I would like to correct one thing for you... I'm not a human."
She paused and uttered:
"What are you then?"
My smile was veiled by the mask over my face, and the yin and yang below us shifted at that moment. I was now standing over yin.
"I'm a Darkseeker."
