After a long walk, Doji and I finally got to the cursed route. Immediately we stepped in, it was as if clouds covered the sum and we were separated from the outer world. As we walked down the narrow road, we noticed that they were a lot of spirit animals everywhere and we didn't stand a chance against anyone.
It was as if we were being watched. The atmosphere became denser and denser until Doji started running. I was also scared so I ran with all the speed I got. I looked behind me to check if I was being chased down. When I looked behind, I saw different species of wild spirit animals chasing me, with fright I increased my speed hoping to outrun them but that was impossible.
We were getting tired and slower and then we got sorrounded by them. There was nowhere to run to. This is the end, what was I even thinking following the cursed route. I closed my eyes about to be devoured, no where to run no where to hide. I was hopeless. I knelt to the ground in dispar to accept what was about to happen and then... I heard a loud growl. I opened my eyes and saw a black spirit tiger standing in front of us looking as if it was here to protect us. Ignoring the spirit tiger, the other animals still wanted to attack. As they were about to attack, the spirit tiger let out a terrific howl making all the animals retreat.
Doji tamed the tiger and gave it some of his food. He liked the tiger so he made a contract with it. A human can make a spirit animal his own by having contracts with them. We kept going and this time, no spirit animal dared to attack us. The density of the area was refusing, seemed like we were getting close to the end of the route. After a little time, we got to the end of the route. I noticed a baby spirit lizard half dead on a rock. Seems like he was a pray for the beasts in the route. I gave it some of my healing potion, it might be just a lizard but it would be alright to make a contract with it.
We finally got to WAES. It was so much different from the south. Back in Ackston, people saw Gold as a wonderful artifact but these people wore it as jewelry. Instead of walking on foot, they were pushed by horses in chariots. Doji and I rented a cottage to stay the night before going to the Academy tomorrow. I went to the bar there to eat something and heard three drunk men talking about the Academy so I decided to eavesdrop.
Man 1:- Hey I heard that the WAES Academy would be taking new students tomorrow.
Man 2:- Yeah I heard about that. I also heard that there are giving scholarships out to people in the country who got determination.
Man 3:- well it's only a scholarship for two semesters. By the time the scholarship expires, those poor asses would have to go back to their filthy villages.
Man 2:- I bet they think they are gonna be grate mages but they'll end up cleaning the tables in dirty bars like this one.
