Frank was about ten meters away from them. Amira, noticing the change in the atmosphere, immediately ordered everyone to step back. One second after he whispered Soul devourer, a red circle began to expand from his feet, spreading across the castle floor.The stone was bathed in a crimson light.
The glow advanced until it covered almost the entire interior surface of the ruins. Everyone—the men and Amira—remained inside the perimeter. The spiral carved in the center seemed to vibrate under that new tone, as if the red had awakened it.
The fear was immediate.
One of the men ran toward the entrance, desperate. But when he reached the edge of the circle, he collided with something invisible. A transparent barrier manifested for an instant with a faint shimmer, preventing him from advancing.
He tried to cross it again.
It was useless.
No one inside the circle would be able to leave.
