Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: You Really Are a Wizard, Aren't You?

BOOM!

By the light of the explosion, Levi lay at the edge of the platform and peered down.

Two rounds of TNT bombardment, one after another... these two orc squads couldn't be said to be unscathed, but rather completely wiped out.

At this moment, the entire area could be described as devastated. Wherever the TNT had exploded, only large craters remained, faintly revealing the rock layers beneath. As for the trees and weeds that had previously grown here, they had long been blown away.

The power of over twenty TNT blocks was terrifyingly destructive, forcibly carving out a vacuum zone in this woodland. The nearby trees, affected by the blast, caught fire after the explosion's aftermath and billowed thick smoke.

Looking at the scene before him, Levi couldn't help but sigh. What a scene of earthly fireworks.

Setting fires on mountains leads to prison time.

After observing by firelight for a while and confirming there was nothing moving on the ground, he took out a water bucket and placed it at his feet.

Splash splash... A stream of water cascaded down from the great height, forming a small waterfall that reached all the way to the ground, extinguishing the nearby flames. Only then did Levi take a deep breath and swim down along the water flow.

Don't ask why he didn't just take a leap of faith... the answer was fear of heights.

So far, he hadn't tested whether water could negate fall damage. If the water didn't work upon landing and he died on the spot, that would be terrible.

Once down, Levi began scanning and searching everywhere... first to see if any had been missed, and second to see if there were any war spoils worth recovering.

However, perhaps because this group of orcs was truly poor, or perhaps because the TNT was too powerful, he searched for quite a while before picking up a few pieces of broken armor and weapons from the scattered debris, along with some scattered silver coins that had been blackened by the blast. Even after examining them with a torch for a long time, Levi couldn't tell which realm they were from.

But regardless of where they were from, the material was silver, which could be used anywhere.

Now he had some pocket money and wouldn't have to pull out gems for every transaction.

"Heh..."

Huh!

Just as he was finishing looting the battlefield, a heavy breathing sound suddenly came from beside him, nearly making him jump.

However, when he turned to look, he found only a tall, burly orc missing arms and legs, covered in blood, leaning against a tree. The already sparse armor on his body had obviously been blown to smithereens by the TNT, and beside him lay a charred massive wooden mallet.

Looking like this, who else could it be but that orc leader?

At this moment, the leader was glaring at him viciously, his chest constantly heaving, yet giving the impression of being out of breath... clearly down to his last breath.

Who would have thought that this leader had been arrogantly shouting threats to slaughter Levi in front of the castle not long ago?

"You... sneak-attacking maggot!"

The orc leader's eyes were full of hatred.

From beginning to end, he didn't know what methods Levi had used. Even until he saw Levi, he didn't know it was Levi who had been dealing with them.

What defeated him wasn't a dragon, but a human. Those explosive things were probably some kind of magic.

"You damned wizard!"

"Noisy."

Levi drew his long sword and thrust it into the leader's chest.

The burly orc immediately fell silent.

Looking at the leader's health bar zeroing out before him, he couldn't help but gasp.

Good heavens, he actually had a health limit of forty points. Among orcs averaging a dozen hit points, this physique was absolutely elite among elites. No wonder he could survive the explosion.

With such a high health limit plus armor, as long as he wasn't at the explosion center receiving continuous impacts, he indeed had a chance to survive.

Rustle.

The moment the leader died, nearby bushes suddenly moved. Levi immediately gave chase and saw an orc fleeing in terror toward the distance, as if a dragon were chasing behind it.

However, it was destined not to outrun him.

After cutting down this straggler, he spent some effort searching the area and dealing with a few isolated orcs. After confirming he really couldn't find any more enemies for the time being, Levi returned to continue cleaning the battlefield.

First were the scraps of metal the orcs wore... he took them all, planning to throw them into the blast furnace when he returned.

Then there were the wargs. Although the wargs carried no equipment, they themselves were a resource.

Through crafting table decomposition, these warg corpses could provide three types of materials: warg meat, warg fur, and bones.

The meat, needless to say, could serve as emergency rations. The fur could be used to craft leather series equipment, and bones could be used to craft bone meal.

Truly a three-in-one wolf.

By moonlight, carrying a full backpack of spoils, Levi swaggered back to the castle.

On his return, he also rebuilt the gate and removed the stones that had been blocking the path behind it.

"You're back, Levi."

Faradon had been waiting at the gate for quite some time.

"How did it go? I just heard some strange sounds and saw some lights... was that your doing?"

As he spoke, the amazement in Faradon's eyes was impossible to hide.

Initially, he had been somewhat worried about Levi. After all, he didn't know what plan he had or whether it was truly reliable... he could only choose to trust blindly.

However, after watching from the walls for a long time without seeing any sign that the orcs had stopped their construction, just as he was beginning to consider whether he should also go out to check the situation, he suddenly heard a tremendous roar, followed by flames shooting skyward, and then what seemed like water falling from the sky, extinguishing the burning flames in the forest.

"That orc squad has been completely dealt with by me. No need to worry."

"Huh?" Faradon was stunned.

"You're saying that you alone defeated an infantry squad of over a hundred orcs, plus dozens of warg riders?"

This didn't even count the squad's leader... that big guy wasn't easy to deal with, as evidenced by the ruined gate beside them.

"A correction."

Levi raised one finger to clarify. "Total annihilation, not defeat. I searched thoroughly... no survivors."

Hiss...

Faradon gasped, exclaiming how terrifying this was.

"How did you manage to..."

He was somewhat incredulous, but soon this Ranger seemed to think of something and murmured to himself, "I've read in some ancient books about wizards... some powerful wizards wield lightning and flame, summoning wind and rain at will. I heard the White Wizard of Isengard has such abilities."

Thinking of this, all the abnormalities had reasonable explanations.

That firelight must have been fireballs ignited from Levi's hands, and the explosion sounds and light were lightning he had summoned.

It was magic... Levi must have used fire and lightning magic to defeat the orcs!

"Are you one of those wizards, Levi?" Faradon asked.

"If you mean someone like a certain Grey-robed one, then I'm not."

"I don't believe it." Faradon looked knowing.

"You can use such powerful magic... why didn't you use it before?"

"That was explosives."

"Explosives? What's that?"

"A weapon filled with lots of gunpowder that explodes when ignited with fire."

"Gunpowder? I've only seen it in dwarven firearms and fireworks. Can its power really be this great?"

The Ranger reluctantly accepted this explanation.

"What about the water that fell from the sky?"

"That was... a bucket of water I carry with me."

Faradon immediately wore an expression that said, You must think I'm an idiot.

Your bucket of water can extinguish a forest fire?

"Indeed, gunpowder is just your spellcasting medium. You can use it to unleash powerful attacks, right?"

Hiss...

Levi paused. Actually, come to think of it, it really could be considered that way.

After all, TNT was crafted using the crafting table, and he really couldn't explain the specific principles. But treating these as magic seemed fine too.

"You can think of it that way."

After hearing Levi say this, Faradon showed an expression of Just as I thought.
