A young boy and girl with a weak body and pale looking face are walking across the forest.They were siblings from the village near the border of the Naga country.Since a war is happening between Naga nation and Bleu nation for several years, people who live in the area between two countries were suffering the effect of war most. Some lost their life , some lost their loved ones, some lost their home, family and had to run away for safety.
"Min stay strong brother. We are not far away from the refugee camp. We will be safe when we get there"
Nyo looks at her frail brother and cheers him up.
Min and Nyo lost their family and have to run away because a battlefield is fighting near their village. The soldiers from both countries do not care really about civilians when an actual war happens. The only thing they care about is to win the fight.
" Sister don't worry I can still walk. I will hold myself . I will live and I will avenge those coloured-eye monster for my parents"
Min was talking about the soldiers who killed his parents having eyes glowing with red and green colours. Nyo thinks her brother is speaking about coloured eyes because he is traumatized from the event.
The siblings continue to walk across the forest and suddenly a glimpse of hope and joy come across their faces.
" It's a camp over there . That is a refugee camp"
Nyo shouted and run towards the camp holding her brother. Min is also happy but suddenly his happiness fades away as he sees the two soldiers guarding the refugee camp. The one has green eyes and the other one has red eyes but Nyo doesn't see those eyes.The soldiers stop them as they approach the camp.
"Stop there kids. Where are you coming from ? Which country?"
The one with the red eye asked.
" We are from the village in Naga county sir "
Nyo replies with a tense voice hoping this is a refugee camp from Naga county. If it is a refugee camp from the opposing country their lives would be doomed.
" Prove yourself that you are from Naga country kids "
The soldier with the green eye steps forward and asks for identification.
"But we are kids sir. My brother is 12 and I am 16. We haven't received our ID cards yet sir"
ID cards are given to all citizens county once they turn 18. That card holds the information about citizen and criminal records. But since Nyo and Min are still kids they haven't received one yet.
" Hey they are kids. How would they have ID cards. Look at their clothes and faces. They can't be from the Bleu country. Let them in"
The green eye soldier looks back to the red eye soldier with a mysterious look and then he turns back to the siblings.
"Ok you two can go in"
Nyo feels relief and picks up her brother.
"Let's go brother "
Min doesn't feel well because he saw the eyes of soldiers are red and green but tells nothing because he is afraid.
They see a group of people lining up for food as they walk inside the refugee camp.
Nyo is excited as she and her brother haven't eaten for 3 days. She starts to line up behind the line.
" Min we are getting food soon"
" But sister I don't want to eat. The soldier giving the food is a monster. I can see his eyes are green"
All the people in the line heard and look back at Min. The smile from the soldier giving the food fades away and stares at Min with a tense look.
"Min what are you talking about. They are good people. The soldiers fight for our country and now share food for refugees. Don't call them monsters"
" But if they are good people why did they kill our villagers by bombing and then why are their eyes glowing with colours"
Min shouted angrily at his sister. All the people are looking with an angry face towards Min as he offended a soldier who is giving them food and protecting their refugee camp.
" I am sorry! My brother feels a little sick because we haven't eaten for days . He is traumatized and can't think well since he is a child."
Nyo quickly explains the crowd as she fears they might be targeted for offending a soldier.
She walks away from the line up before anything worst begins to happen.
"Min brother why are you saying like that. We will be hated by the people if we offend a soldier. They were fighting for our nation you know?"
"But sister why did they kill their citizens if they fight for us ?"
"It was an accident . The plane bombed our village by mistake because enemy troops are near our village and they can't exactly pinpoint the location so they have to bomb the area."
Nyo explained to her brother that a tragic accident happened to their village. She and her brother were lucky to be alive because her parents quickly hid them inside a bomb shelter when the planes were coming but they didn't make out because the shelter had only room for two people. After the accident happened the pilots who bomb their village came to apologize to the survivors and rebuild the village somewhere safe . But, everyday, her brother keeps telling he see green eyes on those pilots and they kill his parents . So they were left out of the group by the villagers and had to look for another refugee camp by themselves. Now here her brother keeps telling those words again.
Min feels his sister is angry at him . But he can't trust the soldiers. He knew they were not defending the citizens. They are just attacking and fighting each other for another reason but he can't tell why. He has a secret long go too. Although he is a child physically, his mental age is not . He noticed that since he turned 7. He sees and feels things differently unlike other children. He can easily learn reading and writing as if he has experienced them before. Also he can think and process complicated problems with ease. He feels like he has suddenly grown up rapidly although his body is still a child. And now he can see things other people cannot see ,like the glowing eyes of soldiers. He also felt a sense of uneasiness near them and an urge to warn about that to others. But now even his sister doesn't trust and starts to disappoint him because of that.
Now they have to stay empty-stomach because of him too.
