Therese's expression shifted suddenly, her face drained of color, and Amari glanced at her calmly before speaking in a low voice.
"There will be many more situations like this," he murmured. "From here, you can observe without being seen. He won't notice us."
Therese's lips parted, but no sound came. Her face, once pale, had darkened with fury, her chest rising and falling as if her rage had stolen the air from her lungs. Without another word, she followed Amari out, her footsteps heavy, almost staggering.
By the time they stepped out of the venue, Therese's face was nearly black with anger. She inhaled deeply, struggling to calm the storm building inside her chest, but before she could release her words, Amari spoke again.
"This isn't the right place to talk. Come with me."
Without hesitation, he led the way, his voice quiet but commanding. Therese had no choice but to follow. They slipped into his car, the door closing behind them with a decisive thud.
