I opened my eyes, blackness surrounded me on all sides, I couldn't see my hands or any part of my body.
'I suppose my consciousness has left my body then, is this the afterlife? Or merely the place between life and death?"
To my surprise a voice answered "neither, I'm afraid. I was able to bring you here after you died, I am currently preserving your corpse as well."
'who are you?'
"What I am is not important, you and I... Are very compatible beings you see, and I require your body, and you require me to live once more."
I shook my head "I died. killed. what's the point of coming back into a world like that?"
The voice chuckled " oh? Did you forget about your family? Come now surely you want to help your world in some way?"
I thought for a moment "yes but having you control my body doesn't help that matter now does it."
The voice laughed again " as to that... I doubt I can even survive, you see while your soul and mind is highly compatible with me, your body is far too simple."
" This means that our already aligned intent and ways of thinking would merge and become one, where our bodies may clash so many of my abilities will not carry over."
"Abilities? And what are we aligned on?"
" We are aligned in our obsessive nature, as while as our adaptability. The ability I can promise that WILL carry over is this adaptability. Although to what extent I cannot say."
After hearing this I replied "if this is the case then I accept."
The creature laughed " just like that? Very well."
The blackness around me gathered into a single point, this point slammed into my chest and into my heart and soul. I felt a surge of energy and the voice rang out in my head. This is the feeling of awakening, you are now slightly above a regular human. Your soul will now return to your body, during our merging I will likely remain a voice in your head temporarily, once I am aware of our abilities, I will inform you, if you want more you will likely have to train either by acquiring a system, or through cultivation."
I nodded, basically unaware of what any of that meant. and as if falling through from a higher dimension we arrived back on earth.
" Ah and I forgot to mention, in that dimension, time flows differently, welcome to earth. 20 years in the future "
I angered " What! My family might already be dead! What was the purpose of thi-"
"They are not. I assure you. Now, your current ability is only adaptability, as expected it is weak only capable of defensive adaptation four seconds after being hit by an attack, as well as minor attack based adaptability if your attack fails to damage something. my abilities however, sense we have not yet fully merged, should be able to get you out of here though."
Grumbling I opened my eyes. I was immediately assaulted by a rotten smell and the feeling of being crushed, gargling my own blood for four seconds I felt as if the rubble on top of me was splitting me in half. I struggled, however slowly, the pain alleviated, 4 seconds, 8 seconds 12 seconds.
The pain was gone and my body felt somehow sturdier.
" This is good, seems I will have to rid us of this rubble, take care not to be stuck in such a predicament when I am gone, also be aware several creatures will come to the noise when we break out of here."
"What are you going to d-"
I felt energy form in my abdomen "take note, this is the lower dantian or mana core, it is where energy is stored." Energy flowed in my head " this is the upper dantian, it a part of your brain formed during awakening, your energy is accumulated here before you use an ability such as this."
As he said that a massive force launched the rubble hundreds of feet into the sky
I once again stared up at the night sky.
"There are several creatures coming, allow me full control at this time."
I searched for the presence and let it overlap over my own, I felt my heart burn and I watched through my eyes, my body shot forward, climbing the rubble as it rose, several large monsters were running toward the place that had once been the carpark, the jumped into the air.
I kicked off and shot toward it, a blade of black light formed in my hand, slicing the beast in two, several other monsters engaged me and were blown away by physical strikes or cut apart by sharp slashes.
A red light flashed above my head looking up I saw a large drone shining a light down on me, I blitzed away onto a nearby destroyed building as gunfire tore apart the space where I had been.
"a robot? Just what has happened..."
"I'll leave finding that out too you."
As it said this the being controlling my body chanted undiscernible words, I felt energy gather In my mana core and flood into my upper dantian.
A massive pillar of black light instantly appeared and left a crater where the drone had been.
Loud sirens sounded all around
" It seems that that was only a scout. I doubt I can engage anything more, and I don't think I'll even exist in about 6 more minutes."
Saying this my body ran at ridiculous speed
"How are you doing this with my body?"
"This is the limit of rank one cultivation, which I was able to reach with my knowledge, as soon as we arrived I realized a system wouldn't be an option, so I got you to the peak stage of rank one cultivation, you will have to break through on your own however, and you will not be as well versed in using this power as I am so do not expect to be able to use it to this extent, this combat ability will probably be similar to you using upper rank two cultivation."
In the time it took to have this conversation we had reached the edge of the city, a massive wall stood in front of us, it did not look like it had been made by human hands but brought up from the earth like a mountain.
"Far too thick to blow through with rank one peak stage cultivation."
Saying this, my body jumped and started running up the wall, I felt my energy go into my feet sticking them to the wall being released perfectly to keep running at the same speed.
Such control was indeed incomprehensible to me for now.
With a leap we cleared the wall
"Two minutes left."
On top of the wall, a man stood across from us .
"Well now! A cultivator? What sect are you from boy?"
'this one is an awakener, gauging his strength he is close to a rank 3 cultivator in terms of power.'
"I am an awakener, Joo Su Hong, I guard this wall. Usually people only attempt to pass the wall not come out."
Nervously I replied "I am Tatsuki Wakamatsu, I was trapped in their but survived due to my... System."
The man looked surprised "system huh? Let me see?"
I shook my head "it's only visible to me."
The man clicked his tongue " is that so..."
My body moved to the side controlled by the being
A blast of blue-green energy erupted from the man completely destroying the space I had just been.
The man turned " you are fast... Rank one peak stage huh? I'll have you know that I awakened I was already assigned the strength of a rank 3 cultivator."
" Pure awakeners cannot raise their level however this makes you nothing but trash."
The being said these words with my voice
"Impudent little-"
I shot forward black and white energy coiled around my hand and thrust it forward aiming directly for the heart. A barrier appeared and was shattered but it knocked both of us back.
"No way, a rank one peak stage moving like that? Its more like a rank four..."
The man shuffled back and revealed a talisman,
"30 seconds left."
I shuttered
" Worry not, this is more then enough time."
The man slammed the talisman down and a massive spider appeared it jumped toward me, however the ground beneath me cracked and from my dantian several black lines erupted, covering my body, a black fire shot out from the lines and engulfed me.
"Twin dragons, 7 hopes, heaven and earth, divine dividing blade."
Time seemed to freeze, the black energy refined slightly covering my hands which connected and clasped together drawing all the energy into single point
"Essence of void, teardrop of nothingness, let this mark my existence onto this world."
As these words came to an end the energy refined until black shone brighter then any star in the sky. It disappeared and cracks formed around the two beings in front of us
"Ninth descending heaven."

The cracks moved towards them and formed a spear of dark light that erupted from an indiscernible direction and shot into the sky, visible from everywhere on the planet, a level of energy never seen before.
As fast as it came it disappeared, leaving nothing not even a mark or crater, but the two targets might as well had never existed.
"I will now disappear, that level of magic will likely bring every strong person in the world to this spot, I suggest you leave and don't worry they won't notice you once I'm gone you will be a regular peak stage cultivator, your ability to adapt will remain, and no matter what you must reach at least the level of a mid stage 5 cultivator in 10 years."
I nodded thoughtlessly still in shock "just what are you..."
There was no response.
