The Hell's Arena was a place in the deepest parts of hell. It was a place where people either kill or be killed. A place where people fight to breathe. If you don't struggle, you would be crushed.
For a thousand years, demons of different places and lineages have been fighting for the places of the Blood Advocates. Only four demons who are strong enough to fight the four demon Kings and defeat one can be one of the Blood Advocates but no one has survived it. They all died.
This time around, there are six demons who people believe may win.
The white demon
Apocalypse
Hexed Fox
Host
The last Femont and;
Ghuhantrayline
They were the strongest demons in the Hell's Arena most especially Apocalypse.
Demons and people who watched these fight called it entertainment and little children were threatened to be brought to the Hell's Arena if they misbehaved. No one ever considered life here. Everyone cared about the entertainment, others the popularity, some the need to survive and few, the prize ahead.
Quest had decided to take the Survival level of ascension seriously. She had to survive and she would. No mate bond should cloud her mind and get her killed. No family bond should occupy her thoughts and ruin her. She would train and try to survive even if she loses fights, she must survive.
She had a bath which she hadn't gotten for weeks. Her tanned skin shone from the bath and the black scars were more visible. The ones at her back, her neck, even the one she got while trying to escape from Cerberus. It was a claw mark that started from her left shoulder blade to the right side of her waist. She survived that narrowly for the claws of Hades pet was as poisonous as the masters gaze.
She cleaned herself up and wore a black turtleneck long sleeve and leather leggings with black boots. She tied her hair up, not caring about the scar on her face and then stepped out to the dining hall. She had been to one on ages and she was almost about to faint from starvation.
The dining hall had TOUGH ONES inscribed on the door. She pushed it open and saw a lot of huger and hefty demons seated, eating human flesh and blood for dinner while some shamelessly raped some human slave girl to death. According to what she heard, it made them stronger.
She walked to the farthest side to sit down after ordering a clean meal of roasted cow beef and wine. She felt out of place as she was shorter and smaller on size. As she sat down, she could now get a perfect view of two large demons fighting. Other demons were hailing their choices energetically. No one cared about life. They wanted one to die at least or both. That would make it easier as it would reduce the number of demons to fight.
She looked away and continued eating. She wasn't interested in the view of the dinning room. She just had to fill her empty stomach and get out alive to train.
Meanwhile, a pair of golden eyes stared down at her with keen interest. The owner of those captivating eyes seemed to be patiently waiting for something unexpected to happen but why?
Quest sipped the wine. She cringed at the taste. It was definitely made from blood but her taste buds didn't appreciate the taste. She had always being a different demon anyway.
To make her lose appetite, the head of a demon landed on her plate. The demons yelled out in victory and excitement. Quest raised her head up and she did a good job hiding her fear when she saw the demon who had just killed a demon approach her slowly with killing intent in his eyes.
Quest wasn't well acquainted with the norms of the Hell's Arena since she had been in the Omega level for a long time where nothing really happened. She only knew that one had to kill to survive or be killed for others survival. Seeing the huge demon approach her with slow and heavy steps, she could only brace herself for what next was coming. It turned out her only option was to run away because she had no weapon, no special fighting skill and no idea on demon abilities. She was a total description of uselessness.
Getting closer to Quest, the demon swiftly raised his huge hammer with spikes on it, ready to crush her but she was quicker. She jumped out of her table and hit the ground. Because of that move, the demon had destroyed the table where she had sat. She stood up, ready to run but other foolish or maybe crazy demons joined the fight like she was some sort of obstacle that needed to be destroyed. She was supposed to be ignored since she had nothing to offer or maybe uselessness wasn't needed here.
Quest crawled under a table but a demon caught her by her ankle and pulled her out before throwing her across the hall towards a wall. She groaned at that hard impact and whimpered once she hit the ground also. She wasn't even given time to get up fully when she was picked up by her hair.
"The true descendant of Hades as the rumors say. You look weak but to be forewarned is to be forearmed." The demon was about to punch her face but he couldn't move his fist.
"Don't you dare move one more inch." A cold voice said. The demon literally turned yellow in fear. As he turned, a punch landed on his face making him stagger back with a distorted face and let go of Quest.
The other demon caught Quest before she could make contact with the ground. The dining hall was suddenly quiet as they watched one of their strongest demons help Quest up. It was no other than Apocalypse. He had already beaten the other demons half to death and it was just then that Quest noticed.
Quest knowing who stood before, bowed.
"Thank you." She said.
The male before her raised a brow, not saying anything. His golden eyes dimmed as he took notice of thin lines of healed injuries on her face. He knew her back would be worse.
"You don't need to. Just don't stay on the lower floor. Always stay upstairs." He coldly said.
Quest nodded, avoiding looking into his eyes. Noticing that he nothing else to say, she ran out of the dinning room. She finally let out an eased breath once she got to her own room. Her mond went wild immediately. She wasn't strong enough to defend herself in anyway. She couldn't even run away. Her uselessness was just too much and it was making her so annoyed at herself.
She couldn't remain here calling herself useless. She would definitely go out there and train. Just then, someone knocked on the door and without waiting for her permission, the door was pushed open and Roun came in. Her anger was fueled immediately and she felt like punching him. He was there in that dinning hall when she getting beaten and he did nothing about it. He only comes to pretend like he cares while laughing internally at her wounds. It was her assumption which she believed to be very true.
"Get out! What are you doing here? Get out!" She yelled, getting crazy already.
Roun looked down with that same guilty look on his face that irked her so much; "I am sorry for not intervening quickly. I was about to but Cobalt beat me to it."
An excuse like every single damn time. If it isn't about 'protecting her from harm' it is the fact that he wasn't aware because he was in a far corner. Why was she even bothered in the first place? He hurt her on their first meet and that stamped an idea that he would continue to hurt her so long as their bond exist. So why is she even bothered? She should reject him already. Yes, that is what she should have done a long time ago.
Quest stood up from her bed and walked towards him. With a sigh; "I, Quest Thaddeus rejects you, Roun Clash."
Roun's eyes widened and when he tried to stop her from completing her sentence, she stepped back.
"Why?" He whispered, looking hurt. They both felt the pain on the bond being broken but Quest was very nonchalant about it. She had to be strong.
"Stop playing victim and get out of my room. I am not going to die because of you." She coldly said and turned away, waiting for him to leave.
"I will never let you go. Get that into your head. Whatever it is, I will make you mine." He said amd stormed out of the room, slamming the fragile door behind him.
She was sure she sensed evil in that voice. Was he really that desperate or like everyone else, something fuels that desperation…something evil.
She remained in her room, thinking about everything starting from the fight. She could remember the coordinator call her 'the crudren'. He also mentioned that she was THE daughter of Hades. Was that a lie? Ugh…she didn't even know what or who to believe?
She remained in her room until the whole place became quiet. No more movements and if she listened closely, she could hear snores. She wanted to train but she was wanted to be cautious. Blood sucking demons never slept and they were usually out of control at night. They would Fred on a fellow demon if they had to and wouldn't regret one they became sane. The only sane blood suckers were the Clempirs.
She creaked open her door and after looking left and right, she stepped out and shut her door. First things first, she had to get her hands on a weapon or two. A sword and daggers would do then she would steal a book from the library that would educate her on demon abilities. She would then train till morning. The survival mode of ascension wasn't until two weeks time so she had so much time to prepare.
Quest snuck out of the building successfully without being caught by the watchdog demons who were patrolling with angry faces. It took her a while and nearly caused her life as she had to search for the arsenal. It came out unsuccessful and so she decided to find the library. She was always locked up and never got the chance to know the different buildings in the place. She only knew the arena and the building she just stepped out from.
Wanting to give up the search of the Arsenal and library, she started heading back to the building she came out from. Her plan just fumbled and she really needed the knowledge and defence.
"In search of something?" Her heart burned in fear and she turned around, knowing she got caught. Her heart calmed down a bit when she saw Cobalt.
"Yes…umm no…I mean…thank you for saving me." She bowed, quite scared. She really wanted to divert the topic but Cobalt looked very smart.
"You shouldn't bow for me again." He said with an wait of authority and she nodded "What are you searching for?"
"No-nothing." She said in panic. She couldn't let anyone know even her savior. They were all fighting each other, even her savior couldn't be trusted.
"I am not going to inflict any harm on you." He assured but Quest had lost every form of ability to trust long time ago in Bethlehem.
"I just…" she didn't know what to lie about and Cobalt just scoffed.
"Alright…I am Cobalt, popularly known as Apocalypse and I am a Henderire."
