Chapter 6 - Chapter 4: Under the Great Adar Tree

>>A little escape from my legacy<<

After defying the Supreme Council and questioning his place in the universal balance, Zodiark, the only son of the Creator, fled the Celestial Realm. In his exile, he found something his divine world had never offered: a real connection.

Her name was Moniark.

A girl with a gentle spirit and a luminous mind, with a laugh that could light up the heavens. In their first meeting, they faced a threa together and sealed a simple but powerful promise:

To meet again.

That night, Zodiark descended from his tower of light, his heart beating as if an entire constellation were throbbing within his chest. He had secretly opened a portal, careful not to alert his mother or his mentors. Every move was strategic. Every step... a small rebellion.

On the other side, the Fourth Lesser Heaven awaited him.

A living realm where power flowed without violence, and magic danced without chains.

Star-leaved trees flickered in every breeze. Mountains floated, pouring down inverted waterfalls that whispered ancient chants. Villages rested on the roots of sleeping dragons, whose slow breaths marked the pulse of the earth.

Zodiark paused for a moment. In that world, he could grow without fear. Without judgment.

And then he saw her.

There, on a hill covered in flowers that glowed like fireflies, Moniark waved to him, smiling as if she could melt time.

"You took a while! I'd almost finish my tea without you, you slow little star," he said, his voice a mixture of mockery and tenderness.

Zodiark smiled shyly.

"If my mother sees me smiling like that... she'll lock me up for millennia."

"Then smile more," she retorted. "Chains rust with joy."

They both laughed. The laughter was simple, but it meant more than a thousand prayers.

> The Great Universal Book <<

After a walk along paths covered in dancing flowers that changed color in the wind, Moniark led him to an enchanted clearing:

Singing trees whispered soft melodies, and stones floated in spirals, forming living runes. There, in its secret corner, he revealed his greatest treasure.

He took out a book covered in living, glowing symbols.

The pages turned on their own, as if responding to a music only they could hear.

On the cover, written in white fire:

"The Great Book of the Aeons."

"A goddess gave it to me," Moniark said, caressing the cover. "She said it was part of a prophecy. Though... I never understood which one."

Zodiak leaned toward him, fascinated.

"Does it allow you to use magic?"

"Much more! Look..."

She recited a spell. A blue circle shimmered in the air, and from it emerged an ethereal creature:

a crystalline water fox with wise eyes.

"This is Luy. I can summon spirits, create new ones... even change their forms if they agree. Some I trap as they travel between planes."

Zodiark watched him in wonder.

"So he's like an adventure partner... right?"

"Exactly," Moniark nodded. "It's not just power. It's connection."

Zodiark placed his hand on the grimoire. A page vibrated beneath his fingers, and the symbols lit up with a golden light. He felt a cosmic current course through him.

"Wow! Is this me?"

Moniark narrowed his eyes at his aura and gasped.

"Close to the level of a magic king?! Are you seven years old like me, or have you been lying to me for millennia!"

"Maybe... I trained too much," he replied, trying to hide it.

"Or maybe you're something else," she murmured with a half smile.

>> Hierarchy of Universal Power <<

Level ∞: Nexus (The Weaver of Creation)

Level ?: Chaos (The Unmaker)

"So... I'm Level 1?" Zodiark asked.

Moniark looked back at the book, then at Luy, and said,

"No." You're... somewhere between level 40 and 50. Are you a supreme god or a system glitch?

Zodiark laughed nervously.

"I prefer to think it's just a fluke."

>> Hierarchy of Magic <<

Common Magic: Basic spells (fire, water, healing).

Intermediate Magic: Elemental control, formal training.

Advanced Magic: Expert mages, large-scale effects.

Ultimate Magic: Massive power, requires enormous energy.

 Divine/Demonic Magic: Alters cosmic laws.

Primordial Magic: Used by primordial gods; almost forgotten.

Zodiark grabbed his head.

"Ugh! How am I supposed to learn all that?"

"Your divine little brain is overheating, huh?" Moniark joked, tapping her with the book.

"And you? What's your level?" he asked.

"Uh... level 10," she replied sheepishly. "I use intermediate magic, but I burn out quickly."

Zodiak looked at her respectfully.

"A wise man once told me: shame only belongs to those who pretend to be something they are not. You don't pretend at all."

Moniark blushed a little.

"Thank you... that was very nice."

> Adar, the Great Tree of the Cosmos <<

Finally, Moniark led him to the heart of Heaven: a clearing where the colossus stood.

The Great Adar Tree, whose roots touched the Twelve Heavens and whose branches caressed the firmament.

"Here I come to read," Moniark whispered. "Here, the universe speaks to me."

Zodiark sat beneath its branches, amazed.

"I've never been shown a place like this. At home... there are only rules, duties, and thrones."

"This is my secret," she said. "I never showed it to anyone."

"And now we're having a picnic!" Luy shouted.

"Luy, you'll eat all the cookies!" Moniark laughed, placing a blanket on the cosmic grass.

Zodiark approached, and together they ate, laughed, and read the book while the stars slowly rotated in the sky.

Zodiark approached, and together they ate, laughed, and read the book while the stars slowly rotated in the sky. The night enveloped them like a forgotten song.

"Do you know the name of this tree?" Moniark asked.

"No... does it have a name?"

"It's called Adar. It was present at the war of the gods, and they say that whoever sleeps beneath its roots... dreams of lives yet to be lived."

Zodiark was speechless.

Moniark rested her head on his shoulder.

"You're my best friend, Zodiark. And I believe you always will be."

He said nothing. He just looked at her, letting his breathing align with that of the universe.

Echoes of the Future <<

From the Celestial Realm, Divintia, goddess of life and harmony, watched them silently. A tear trickled down her cheek.

"When two souls destined to defy the laws of the universe meet... not even the gods can predict the outcome."

He looked up at the firmament, and in his mind a name echoed like an eternal twirl:

"Zodiark... the weaver of the new legacy."

"May the Goddess of Fate guide you. And may Nexus and Mithril bless you."
