Susan laughed as she pulled into Garrett's driveway. "You're lucky you have such a terrific best friend."
Natalie sighed. "Maybe I should have taken the hint and stayed home."
"Yeah, right. Look, the kids think I went for pizza, so I better get back before the restaurant closes. Garrett will drive you home in the morning and the kids will never know their mother left the house."
Despite the gear shift and bucket seats, Natalie reached over and gave Susan a quick hug. "I don't know what I'd do without you," she said.
"You'd be stuck at home reading about sex instead of having it," Susan said succinctly. "I've seen those romances on your shelves."
"High quality fiction, thank you very much," Natalie said. "I happen to like romances."
Susan chuckled, then said, "Go on before Garrett comes out here."
