Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Stacy's POV

I had been running around in circles, all exits blocked, and I had started to regret my decision to come here. My chest drummed hard, and I tried to be normal with everything else. It wasn't so easy for me.

Having nowhere to go, I knew I was stocking up in Denvort's mansion. I was all alone, and was trying to discover what I was doing, but it seemed so hard for me to do.

For the past few hours I had been hiding in the bar room, and I was overly exhausted. My body was shaking out of hunger.

"You can't stay here, they'll eventually find you, and then you'll be killed for sure," My wolf gave a suggestion, but I groaned in a weakened tone.

"How do I escape without getting caught? I came here to confront him, I didn't know he wanted me killed. Who do I go to now?" I asked with raised brows, and my wolf kept mute even though she didn't know who was going to save her from this situation.

Well, it didn't really matter, I was going to die anyway, and no one was going to bother about me.

"You have to think. Who can really help you in this situation because he's really out to kill you."

I nodded, and just then a name rang a belle.

"Liam...." I called. He was the only one that could help me at this time, but how do I get to his quarters without being spotted?

So many questions ran through my mind, but at the end of the day, I knew I just had to do it. I had to go find Liam.

I took a deep breath, and opened the door, using my eyes to scout the hallway to make sure it was safe for me to come out.

There were a few guards, so I retracted my neck to make sure I wasn't caught, but once I heard their footsteps already afar off, I immediately sprung into action.

I opened the door, and without making a single sound dashed through the hallway, making sure to look out every turn before taking it in order not to get caught.

I was breathing hard, trying to tame my breath. All of a sudden, I spotted a guard. I gasped, slipping into one of the rooms.

I waited for them to march forward, but the conversation I heard them say was scary.

"She's going to have to die, or else the alpha is going to have us killed. He really hates her."

My heart skipped a beat, my emotions changing from fear to sadness. The monster I had longed to marry was out to kill me.

Finally, I got to my destination. My heart hammered, and I looked left, and right as I knocked, hoping he would open up.

"Who's there?" He asked, his voice showing disgust as though he was disturbed.

"Its me, please, please help me. It's Stacy..." I called, and he immediately became agitated.

"Leave here now!" He roared, and it seemed that the noise we had been making had alerted some guards because I had started to hear footsteps.

"Please, please they are coming for me. They wanted to kill me, Kai ordered them to kill--" I closed my eyes, leaning on the door because the guards were already coming. They came with full force, but just when they eere close, I staggered into the room.

My eyes opened, and I realized I was already inside his room, but before I could process what was going on, I rushed behind him, grabbing his waist as tightly as I could.

"Let go of me, let--"

"You!" The guards rushed in, but stopped upon seeing Liam. However, they didn't seem to regard his presence because they pulled out a knife to stab me.

"Stop that, now! Don't you have any regard for me? I stand before you and you want to take her life in my room?" He asked, making them keep mute, but they didn't lower their weapons or show any fear.

"Unfortunately we can't because Alpha Kai has ordered for us to kill her, and that's what we are here to do!" He expressed, lifting up his knife, but it only pissed Liam off.

"How dare you? Can't you see I am before you. Even if you want to kill her, can you not do it here? I know you want her dead, but not in my room." He expressed. However, it didn't seem to be working.

"Go, and I'll bring her to you, then you can do anything you want with her..."

His words caused me to fear, but I rather stick with him than to be killed.

"Sorry sir Liam, but we take orders from Kai, and we can't let her be with you for the meantime."

"Hmmm, for the last time I already told you to--"

One of them immediately gave the order, and the rest charged towards us with the knife. I closed my eyes, and was ready to receive the sharp pain from the knives, and daggers they held, but that wasn't the case.

"Ugh!" I heard someone gagging, and by the time I opened my eyes, I noticed that there were bodies on the floor with only one still moving in his grip.

"I warned you!!" He roared before finally letting go of the man who turned limb in his hands.

I gasped, breathing hard. Blood was littered on the floor, and even on his body. The daggers they wanted to kill me with were now lodged in their stomachs, neck and other sensitive parts of their bodies.

"My goodness..." I exclaimed, my hand covering my lips, but he turned towards me, a dark gaze in his eyes. I became scared, hoping he wouldn't in turn kill me, but his next words shocked me.

"We can't stay here any longer, we have to leave, now..." His voice gave no room for argument.

I nodded, swallowing. Did he just kill his brother for me?
