Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Developing Potential, First Meeting Frieza!

"With his power... I don't stand a chance!"

"I need to get out of here—fast!"

Dodoria muttered to himself, trembling. He valued his life far more than his pride.

Meanwhile, Son Goku was a blur of motion, taking down each of the alien soldiers with clean, powerful punches. They had no ability to fight back.

In a matter of seconds, every single one of them had been defeated by Goku.

With a flash, Son Goku shot forward and intercepted Dodoria just as he tried to escape.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"I... I..." Dodoria stammered, paralyzed by fear.

Without hesitation, Goku raised his right hand, condensed a glowing energy ball, and pressed it against Dodoria's chest. Without even glancing back, he turned and flew toward where Rayden and the others waited.

Boom!

Moments after Goku left, the energy bomb exploded in a massive blast. Dodoria was erased from existence without even letting out a scream.

Bang!

Goku landed beside Rayden, his expression relaxed.

"Rayden, these enemies are too weak. There's no challenge in fighting them."

Krillin sighed, scratching his bald head. "Man, I'll never understand you. Isn't it a good thing if they're weak?"

With all enemies cleared out, Rayden and Yamcha approached the village elder to explain the situation. The elder, grateful for their help, smiled warmly.

After seeing Goku's overwhelming strength, the elder handed over a Dragon Ball, nearly the size of a basketball, to Rayden.

"That thing's huge!" Krillin exclaimed.

The elder turned to a young Namekian boy. "Dende, take them to see the Grand Elder."

"Yes, Elder Muri!" Dende nodded, then turned to the group. "Come with me!"

He took off into the air, and Rayden and the others followed with the Dragon Ball in tow.

---

Elsewhere on Namek...

A grim scene unfolded in another village—dozens of Namekian bodies littered the ground.

Beside them stood a unit of alien soldiers, all wearing matching combat uniforms. At their center sat a small figure in a floating hoverchair—calm, elegant, and terrifying.

It was Frieza, the Emperor of the Universe. The air around him felt heavier than gravity itself.

A tall, handsome man with long hair stepped forward and bowed.

"Lord Frieza, we've just lost contact with Dodoria. He may have been killed."

This was Zarbon, one of Frieza's trusted lieutenants.

Frieza took a sip of red wine, then swirled the glass thoughtfully.

"Oh? How interesting. It sounds like those newcomers are trying to interfere. Could it be that they're after the Dragon Balls as well?"

Zarbon glanced at a nearby detector. "Yes, my lord. The tracker shows them heading toward the Grand Elder's location."

Frieza's calm tone sharpened, laced with menace. "No matter their intentions... since they've dared to show up, let's give them a warm welcome—with death."

"Zarbon, I'll leave this to you."

"Yes, Lord Frieza!" Zarbon placed a Dragon Ball he was holding on the ground, then took off, flying swiftly toward the detected energy signatures.

"Time to visit the next village," Frieza said coldly.

He floated forward in his hoverchair, and the rest of his army followed, carrying the Dragon Ball with them.

---

Back on the other side of Namek...

Under Dende's guidance, Rayden and the others finally arrived at a distant plateau.

Standing outside was a warrior who resembled Piccolo.

"Uncle Piccolo?" Gohan asked, wide-eyed.

The warrior blinked in confusion. "What?"

Dende quickly explained. "Gohan, this is Brother Nail. He's one of the Grand Elder's protectors."

The bond between Gohan and Dende had grown during their flight, and they already considered each other friends.

"The Grand Elder has been expecting you," Nail said, leading them to a small oval-shaped building.

They followed him inside, and gasped at the sight before them.

"So big!" Krillin exclaimed.

The Grand Elder sat on a stone seat, his enormous body radiating calm wisdom. His voice was deep and slow.

"I understand you've come from far away. What brings you to Namek?"

Krillin stepped forward. "Our friends were killed by the Saiyans. We're looking for the Dragon Balls to bring them back..."

The Grand Elder didn't respond immediately. Instead, he said, "Child, may I look into your memories? If you permit me, I will understand everything."

Krillin hesitated, then nodded. "Alright."

To save his friends, he had no choice.

The Grand Elder placed a massive hand on Krillin's bald head and closed his eyes.

Moments later, he nodded slowly.

"So that's what happened... I didn't realize that Namekians still lived beyond the stars. Thank you for coming here to help us resist this evil."

He looked over the group with a kind smile.

"Children, you're not strong enough to face Frieza yet. But I can sense great potential within you. Allow me to help unlock it."

"Grand Elder, your health..." Nail objected, worried.

"It's fine." The elder smiled, already placing a hand over Krillin once more.

In just a minute, Krillin's power had soared. His aura felt much stronger.

"Thank you so much!" Krillin said gratefully.

"Come forward, the rest of you."

Rayden stepped up first. "Thank you, Grand Elder."

The Elder laid his hand on Rayden's head, and Rayden immediately felt a powerful force awaken deep within. His strength doubled in seconds.

"All done, child."

Rayden bowed. "Thank you!"

Next came Yamcha, Goku, and Gohan. One by one, the Grand Elder unlocked their hidden power.

Their strength had now increased tremendously.

Rayden: 1.92 million

Goku: 1.24 million

Gohan: 560,000

Krillin: 270,000

Yamcha: 250,000

---

Suddenly, Rayden's expression shifted.

"Someone's coming. Their aura is filled with malice."

From outside, a loud voice rang out.

"Listen up in there! Come out and DIE!"

It was Zarbon, who had tracked them down.

Rayden narrowed his eyes, then looked at Gohan. "He's just a warm-up. Gohan, you take him."

"Huh? Me?" Gohan blinked, then nodded. "Okay, Uncle Rayden!"

Zarbon burst into laughter. "This is a joke, right? You're sending a little kid to fight me?"

"HYAH!!"

Gohan shouted and powered up, releasing all his energy at once.

Beep-beep-beep—BOOM!

Zarbon's scouter exploded from the surge in Gohan's power.

"What the...!? Over 100,000!?"

Zarbon stood frozen in disbelief—until Gohan punched him square in the face, knocking him to the ground.

Rayden pointed in the distance. "There's still a stronger energy ahead. That must be Frieza. Let's go!"

The group rose into the air and shot toward their final destination.

---

Meanwhile, in another village...

Frieza sat with narrowed eyes, listening to his men.

"Lord Frieza," one soldier reported nervously, "Mr. Zarbon has also gone silent... The scouter shows several strong energy signals heading our way."

The soldier, with the head of a crocodile, was shaking. He knew that delivering bad news to Frieza could mean death.

Frieza crushed his wine glass in one hand.

"They killed both of my generals... and now they're coming here?"

His cold aura made the entire area shiver.

---

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Rayden and the others landed in front of Frieza.

"Hohoho... So you're the ones who killed Dodoria and Zarbon?" Frieza sneered, studying them.

"You must be Frieza," Goku said, stepping forward.

"My, my. I didn't expect you to recognize me," Frieza said, amused.

Then, surprisingly, he smiled. "You seem powerful. Why not join me? I could make you high-ranking officers under me. I'll even give you planets of your own."

Goku's expression turned serious. "Don't kid yourself. We'd never work for a monster like you!"

Frieza's face darkened. "Oh? You refuse my offer and kill my top men? It seems you're eager to die."

He raised a finger.

"Soldiers! Wipe them out!"

The elite guards charged forward, firing energy blasts from all directions.

BZZT! BZZT! BZZT!

Explosions and smoke filled the battlefield.

Bang! Bang!

When the smoke cleared, Rayden and the others stood tall—completely unharmed.

Not even a scratch.

Just a bit of dust on their clothes.

Frieza was livid. "USELESS! You're all useless!"

His soldiers doubled their attacks in a panic, fearing Frieza's wrath more than death.
