In the year 2033 A.C a nuclear war was held in every inch of the planet, this war was so destructive humanity's population was cut in half and many countries were completely erased as a consequence of nuclear weapons.
The destruction was so devastating that humanity decided only 10 cities were going to be used and the rest of the planet would be used as energy production for these cities. They wanted a new beginning for mankind and so they decided to reset the calendar back to 0.Every nuclear weapon was destroyed and world peace had finally been reached.
And after 1000 years of investigation and creation, the biggest space station in the history of humanity had been created, taking its name from the man that made it possible, "Harrison's space polyhedron" became the maximum symbol of greatness humanity had ever gotten.
Quickly people started boarding the space station and eventually it became the biggest economical cornerstone in the world generating more money than the cities in earth, however after 100 years of the polyhedron's creation, problems eventually had to come, and to avoid another war the world government created the peaveys the judicial system of the polyhedron, these "space cops" are the ones that maintain order in the 30 floors of the polyhedron.
Year 1115
Outskirts of Deneb
The enormous highway in which no cars drive anymore is surrounded by miles of desert and only desert, up until far far away the farms are located. The even bigger walls of Deneb rise up above the desert sand and, from the ground appear to reach the sky. All of a sudden a caravan of cars approach the enormous door that connects the desertic highway with the walls of the city, the sand rises up as a cloud as the cars approach, when the first one stops abruptly right at the entrance of the city.
The door of the big black car opens and out comes an elegant looking gentleman with a white marin coat hanging from his shoulders, he steps outside the burning sun and reaches the shadow cast by the enormous wall. He then looks down as about to smash a bug, and commands to speak to the little boy in dirty clothes sitting down at the wall. The obvious country boy looks up to the shiny white man in front of him and begs for mercy, almost crying.
-The name's Atlas kiddo, how about we start with presentations before begging for mercy.
The little kid changed his expression to one of confusion and fearfully stated his name - Flea, no second name no surname.
-So… a nobody huh. oh sorry didn't mean to offend you kid. But… hey! how would you like a new beginning right here. Said Atlas pointing at the gigant wall, -i can't possibly leave a kid starving in the desert, That's not what a good cop would do, am I right Flea?
Flea looked at Atlas, who encouraged him to stand up and finally asked -What's a cop?
Atlas chuckled but immediately realized what a concern it was that a little kid probably born in the countryside and abandoned in the gates of a metropolis didn't even know what a cop was.
And so Atlas began a self imposed task, maybe to feel better with himself but also to bring joy to the traumatized kid now looking up to him. Atlas commanded the kid to enter one of the black cars in the caravan and they both entered one of humanity's last metropolises: Deneb.
The giant metal gates that blocked little Flea from entering the metropolis now open for the caravan of black cars via Id scans. Flea, who was completely unfamiliarized with the process, looked scared at the red lasers scanning everything in their way. Atlas quickly calmed the little boy and told him everything was going to be fine.
Flea's worries were completely overshadowed when the door had finally completely opened and he could see the futuristic metropolis that Deneb was. Buildings taller than the walls he thought reached the sky, colourful screens with advertising everywhere, a network of roads, highways and paths, a completely different world from what he knew was lying right behind those walls.
This is your new world kid. I hope it was everyone's but we're still far away from that. said Atlas with a melancholic tone in his voice
Atlas spoke with the man in a black suit and glasses driving the car and he simply nodded and started driving somewhere, on the way there Flea looked through the window of the black car and was amazed at the city in front of him, robots serving food for humans, ultra realistic videogames and virtual spaces, holographic announcements and decoration it gave life to the city. However Flea quickly remembered something that made all that joy he felt before go away. Atlas noticed this changed but didn't say anything, he was conscious it was probably related to the reason he had those ragged clothes and was sitting outside the Deneb wall and realized it was probably a delicate topic for little Flea. Atlas remembered his childhood, how his parents abandoned him in an orphanage with no other kids and grew up alone surrounded by adults and decided he didn't want that to happen to Flea, he felt he was like him and so he spoke with the driver once more to change directions.
A couple of minutes later they had arrived, the caravan of black cars left Atlas and Flea on their destination and disappeared in the sea of cars and lights. Atlas and Flea were in a rather different place from before, no shining lights or virtual holograms, it was a normal neighborhood Flea looked at the surrounding houses and realized it was no different from what he had seen outside Deneb, and was relieved at the fact that there were still some familiar places in this futuristic metropolis.
Atlas started walking to the faced of the house in front of them and commanded Flea to enter with him as he opened the door. Flea loved the looks of the house, modern yet classic the living room had a single very long L shaped white couch with a hologram projector in the middle of the table next to some cans of beer and other devices he didn't recognize, the biggest TV he had ever seen and a very big window that let all the orange dusk light enter in the most beautiful way.
Atlas looked at Flea and told him: Welcome kiddo, for this… as messy as it looks is your new home, if you want to of course.
Flea looked around and with a big smile agreed as long as Atlas started cleaning up all of his mess. They both laughed and the day concluded with Flea going to his bedroom.
