I couldn't stop pacing. The hardwood floor of the living room creaked with each step matching the frantic beating of my heart.
Upstairs, in my room was a naked woman and I’d shared a bed with that naked woman. I could feel my wolf Hud, prancing inside me with anger. Despite trying to suppress him several times he’d always manage to come up like he had the mind of his own.
Every time I closed my eyes, the image burned in my mind’s eyes. Isabella's auburn hair spread across my pillow, her naked form curled against mine when I'd woken up an hour ago.
I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole.
How had I let this happen? How had I allowed myself to sink so low that I'd woken up with another woman in my arms when the only person I wanted was Lily? The worst part was the complete blank where my memory should be. Everything after leaving the banquet was a hazy blur of alcohol and rage and the crushing weight of seeing Lily in another man's arms.
