Chapter One: The Awakening
"In a world forced to coexist with fear, anger, pain....the survival of the world hangs on the neck of hunters, awakened humans who are the only one capable of destroying such pains and sorrow. Portals leading to other world's appear anywhere anytime, not caring of where it lands; it inhabits deadly creatures, ghouls, demons and monsters who are incapable of coming out into the human world but are ready to kill whoever over, each portals have their rank, and so do the Hunters: the only ones that can defeat them; they are of different ranks four ranks:
The SS rank Hunters who perform otherworldly magic. They are the strongest of the Hunters
The S rank Hunters who can shape shift into anything they can think of. They are the Second Strongest Hunters
The third is the A rank Hunters who are sometimes called the Elemental Masters. They are the third in rank of the Hunters according to their rank
4. The last but not the least but surely the weakest rank; are the B-F rank Hunters who can shapeshift metals, Raw materials into weapons, Armour, etc.
But Every 1000 years, a True Master is awakened, a master who belongs to all ranks/types. This person is often called the Huntrix SSS rank, the Huntrix can either be a male or a female, but it's mostly males. He/she is the strongest of all types of Hunters"
ONE MORNING IN SEOUL, IN AN APARTMENT:
The morning sun rose early today on the city of Seoul, Korea, Revealing thriving economy and people.
"Min ho Oppa!, Min ho Oppa!, Min ho Oppa!", Kim Min Soo, a 17 year old girl shout from the living room with sounding like she was about to burst into tears.
She is a slim, 5ft 2in, cute and jovial girl.
"Yes?, Why did you call me", Kim Min Ho, a skinny 5ft 4in nerdy looking boy said coming down the stairs scratching the back of his head.
"Why did you disturb my sleep?".
He looked at her with glazery eyes, he saw her in tears, he took a moment to wipe his eyes. Now he saw her clearly, eyes filled with years that looked like they were about to burst out like a mighty tsunami.
"Min Soo, why are you in tears, who is on the phone?",he asked walking up to her but she didn't respond.
"Min Soo, tell me what's wrong",he said this time holding her shoulders trying to shake her.
Finally, she spoke: "It's....mom, she's in the hospital".
Without hesitation, he took the phone from her and spoke:
"Hello?, hello?, Who am I speaking with?",voice trembling a little.
"This is Seoul's Hunters' Hospital, it's about your mom...."
"What happened to her?, is she alright?",he asked now tensed than usual.
"I'm sorry I can't explain this further again, you'll have to come to the hospital to get the whole info",she said and hung up.
"Rude?",he dropped the phone and quickly freshened up, both him and his sister rushed and took a taxi to the Hunters' Hospital.
Five minutes later, they arrived at the hospital, paid the fare and entered the big and modern looking hospital layered with white beautiful tiles and decorated with scenting Roses and Carnation.
They made it to the counter in haste.
"Hello",he said in a half stressed half tired voice.
"Hello, how can I help you?",a you beautiful nurse said with a cute and tiny voice respondes.
"I'm here for Mrs Kim, we received a call a while back".
"Oh, yeah, she's in ward 33".
They didn't even ask further questions, they hurriedly rushed to the ward where she was.
They entered
"Mom, mom, what happened to you?",he asked in fear.
She was laying on the bed with her eyes opened but lifeless.
"Why isn't she responding, what happened to her?",he said to a nurse standing beside him
"She was brought to the hospital in haste. We were told that she fell unconscious in at her place of work, she was just standing taking ordes and she fell, as we were told. Now, She's slipped into an Eternal Coma".
Min ho's eyes widened, in a fit of pain plus rage, he slammed his hands into the bed's iron side so hard that it had a dent. This scared both the nurse and Min Soo.
"Sir, you'll have to control your anger, this is an hospital".
He looked at the dented iron and stretched forth his hands to examine it to check if it was weak or of he was that strong not caring of the nurse's words.
Suddenly, the iron moved a little.
The room was stunned.
"Oppa!, It moved, you've... Awakened",min Soo shouted.
"No way".
He tried again but this time trying to move it by will, and it shifted.
"You have awakened...as a Transmutation Hunter".
His eyes widened with both surprise and a new zeal to work, so that he can get money for his mother's treatment.
"Sir",the nurse called. "can I speak with you for a moment?"
They stepped out of the ward.
"She is in an Eternal Coma and I hope you know what that means?"
"No, what does it mean?"
"It means, she will not wake up but be in that situation until cured and also you'll have to pay the bills for is keeping her here by in the hospital"
"And how can we cure her?",he asked with curiosity.
"We can only cure her with the Everheart Draught, it is a potion that heals anything instantly. But there's one problem".
"What is it?"
"It's crazily Expensive and you might not be able to afford it, but don't give up, we'll try our best to obtain one for your mother, but it's going to cost you. More than an arm and a leg".
"I understand, Thank you".
She gave a respectful bow before leaving, he also did the same.
Min Soo came out and asked of what she said and he explained all.
He went back inside to speak to his mother
"I promise you mum, I'll become the strongest and I'll earn enough to heal you, don't worry, I'll take good care of Min Soo, she will be alright".
Tears rolled down both his and min Soo's eyes as he spoke, then he wiped them out and left with Min Soo.
THE NEXT DAY
At the Hunters' type Evaluation hall
Min Ho walked in just to be sure he has awakened and to know if he was a strong Transmutation Hunters type or a weak one although he had his fingers crossed on being a strong Transmutation Hunter type.
"Are you ready Mr. Kim?",a young beautiful looking lady that seemed to be in her mid twenties asked.
"Yes, I am"
"Place both hands on the system please"
He placed his hands on the system hoping for good news. Then the system responded.
SYSTEM EVALUATION COMPLETE
Rank/type: Transmutation Hunter, rank F
Level: 1% / 100%
Abilities: Weapon Forgery
Min Ho was shocked and dissapionted and so we're the others watching, they seemed to be expecting an OP hero that will save the day all the time or the True Alchemist.
"So dissapionting, level 1 out of 100?".
People started laughing
"A 1% powered Transmutation Hunter?",a voice said
"He is the lowest of the lowest rank, lowest of the lowest".
"Such a weakling".
He stormed out of the hall, face red with anger. He sat on the entrance floor of the hall, tears rolling down his face.
"How am I supposed to heal mother when I'm not even strong?",he murmured to himself.
He took a moment to recover himself and wiped his tears
"No worries, I'll try my best and I'll show them all, that I'm not useless".
As he was about to leave, he met with the Chairman of the Hunters Association.
"Hello",the man in a well iron black velvety suit said.
"Hello.....sir",he responded in a cool tone.
"You must have been assessed?"
"Yes sir, but...it's."
"No worries",he interrupted.
"Whatever type you are, you are a Hunter. I'm sure you've been handed your Hunters ID".
"Yes sir"
"From now on, you will have to stay with us in the Hunters' Hq, you will be taken good care of".
"Thanks sir...but that won't be necessary".
The eyes of the man's security men widened.
"I have a sister to be with and my mother is in the hospital, I have to be there for my sister, I hope you understand sir?"
"I understand, you have responsibilities, just make sure to report to the hall frequently for missions or you'll receive an alert for a mission".
"Yes....sir",he said giving a respectful bow.
The man went inside and was greeted respectfully by everyone. While Min Ho walked home to his sister.
