"I will definitely see you when I get back from my travels." Gerald escorted Freya back to the car where Seth was waiting.
"You'll see me in the city then. Who knows, maybe you'll make it for grandpa's birthday. I know my mum will be thrilled to have you there."
"How I've missed her," he laughed, and held her hands as they stopped by the car.
"It was really nice catching up, Gerald."
"And good timing too, now that I know you're single."
Her face flushed.
Seth, who was standing at the other side of the car, watched her with visible lines of annoyance on his forehead.
"I've been single for a while, Gerald. You would have known if you had checked up on me."
"You know I was married myself. My biggest regret. But maybe this is fate, right? What are the odds we meet in a town like this, doing the same job?"
Her smile widened. "I know, I know. We'll just take it one day at a time and see where the road leads us, okay?"
