Aveline was wrapping up her online lectures, when she heard a knock on her door.
She took a deep breath, before walking over to the door.
Reluctantly, her fingers curled around the handle, and she pulled it open.
Atlas was standing on the other side, holding up a tray in his hand.
"I brought dinner for you," he said, and accompanied it with a charming smile.
Aveline's stomach flipped in utter repulsion.
"I'm not hungry," she said, in pretense that everything was completely fine.
"You're not? I kinda was hoping we could eat together."
She forced a smile. "That's sweet, but I was hoping to be left alone tonight."
His brow lifted quizzically. "Are you okay, Aveline? Are you stressed? Did something bad happen at work? Talk to me please," he pleaded.
Aveline studied his face. The way his forehead wrinkled. His narrow eyes, filled with concern, staring pointedly at her.
"The greatest actor," she said in her mind. "Do you even love me?" She followed up with a question.
