"What is it?" He blinked when he saw her tears.
"Why did you make me believe you could never love someone like me?" She said through a voice that was ripe with emotions.
"I'm so sorry if I ever made you feel that way, Aveline. It's not true. It could never be true. I'm the one not worthy of your love. And I understand why you don't love me." His fingers dropped off her chin.
"Oh Atlas—" she cupped his face into her hands. "For someone so intelligent, you can be quite thick in the head. Don't you want to know what my answer was to Landon?"
"Aveline, I already–"
"I told him I am in love with my husband. I told him I love my husband, Atlas Sinclair. Despite his arrogance, and how annoying he can be, I love him. Flaws and all–" she breathed out. "I love you Atlas."
In a heartbeat, he kissed her. Aveline's body jerked, as he pulled her off her feet.
Her hands flew around his neck for balance.
As they kissed hungrily, he carried her up the stairs.
