Aveline cleared her throat immediately, after being caught staring.
"Riley, she wants to see you before she leaves," she reported, and before he could respond, she turned and began hurrying away.
Daniel took off the noise blockers from his young ears. "You were not looking! They got us!" He pointed.
"Hey Daniel, I'll be right back, okay?" He said, a little distracted.
He jumped over the couch, and hurried to catch up with Aveline.
"Hey," he grabbed her elbow, before she could disappear through a turn.
Aveline paused, and turned to face him. "Hey," she returned.
"How'd it go?" He asked.
Her eyes narrowed. "Fine? Why?"
He had not seen the news already, right? She wondered in her mind.
"Just curious." He shrugged.
"Oh, okay," she breathed out silently. "Riley is waiting."
"Yeah. I'll go see what she wants. Later Aveline."
He walked away with his heart rapidly thumping.
