"Why are we in a dress shop, Riley?" Aveline laughed as she followed Riley into the boutique.
"Because you and I need a dress," she replied. "Besides, Joanne is at the grocery store next to us. When she's done, she'll join us here. If that's what you're worried about."
"No, what I'm worried about is the occasion that calls for a—"
"Good morning ma'am. I'm Clarissa, your shopping assistant. Would you please come with me?"
"Sure Clarissa," Riley said.
"Wow—" Aveline's head spun round the boutique.
She had never been into a designer boutique before, but now that she was in one, she understood just why they were so expensive.
"Never?" A voice in her head questioned.
She quickly silenced it, knowing what she meant by never.
Instead, she focused on the room itself. Its walls were made of expensive, decorative glass, and its scent was some variation of lilies she assumed.
Everything about the place screamed opulence.
