Chapter 2 - You like to act like a spoiled king

Chapter two

Being held back by two of Zixuan's friends made Haoran rethink why he was stooping to this level. With a sharp jerk, he removed his arms from their grip and pointed at Zixuan, his voice low but venomous.

"You like to act like a spoiled king? Just know this, one day, you'll realize even kings get knocked off their thrones."

Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked out of the room, his shoulders tense with unspent fury.

Behind him, Zixuan's voice rang out, laced with mocking disdain. "Stupid weakling. If they hadn't held me back, I would've destroyed you." He wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, his fingers trembling with residual adrenaline.

"Leave me alone." He yanked his arm free from his friends, who hesitated, unsure whether to let him go. They knew all too well how destructive his temper could be when unchecked.

Zixuan stormed back to the couch and slumped down, grabbing a half-empty bottle of alcohol.

He tilted his head back and took a long swig, the burn of the liquor doing little to dull the anger simmering beneath his skin. In his mind, he cursed Haoran—his arrogance, his defiance, the way he always managed to get under his skin.

One of his friends broke the tense silence, glancing around in confusion. "Where's the omega?"

Zixuan scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Another weakling. He ran the second Haoran and I started fighting." He had caught a glimpse of the omega slipping toward the door during the scuffle but hadn't bothered to stop him. His mood was already ruined, what was the point?

"Okay, but why do you keep stealing Haoran's omegas every single time?"another friend asked, raising an eyebrow.

"None of your business," Zixuan spat, taking another aggressive sip from the bottle.

The friend smirked, nudging him playfully. "If I didn't know your taste, I'd think you liked Haoran. Maybe you're just jealous."He burst into laughter at his own joke.

Zixuan's expression darkened instantly, his usual carefree demeanor vanishing. His friends knew better than to push him when he was like this—none of them wanted to face the consequences of his wrath.

"Don't ever think about that again," Zixuan hissed, his voice dangerously quiet.

"Why the hell would I like that ugly alpha?" The mere thought made his skin crawl. He'd rather stay single until he died than have anything to do with Haoran.

The friend raised his hands in surrender, still grinning. "Okay, okay! Sorry, Your Highness."

Zixuan's lips twitched despite himself. "You're forgiven, peasant."

The tension dissolved as the group erupted into laughter, falling back into their usual rhythm of teasing and banter. The earlier fight was forgotten

***********

In Haoran's office,

An omega stood between Haoran's legs as he sat on his office chair, her fingers gently dabbing a cotton wool on the wound on his lip.

"Hiss…. be careful," he cautioned when she accidentally pressed too hard.

"I'm sorry," She apologized quickly.

"No problem." His hands slid around her waist, pulling her onto his lap as he buried his nose in her neck. *Omegas are just the best,* he thought, intoxicated by her enticing scent.

"We're in the office, sir," she moaned, squirming in his grip or rather, deliberately brushing against his growing arousal.

"You seductress." Haoran smirked. They were all the same, always eager to strip bare at the sight of him.

The lady smirked confidently, exactly his type. He preferred mature, self-assured omegas, not the timid, white-lotus kind. She cupped his jaw, leaning in for a kiss, but he stopped her with a warning.

"Have you forgotten my rules? No kissing." Before she became his latest omega, Haoran had laid down strict conditions—one of them being 'no kissing'. His mysophobia made the idea of sharing saliva revolting.

"Who is there?" Haoran asked, a little irritated by the sudden interruption.

"It's Jian Tianyu," he responded. He was Haoran's assistant.

"Come in." Haoran pushed the girl off his lap. "You can leave," he said, waving her toward the exit.

"But…" she tried to protest but was met with Haoran's raised palm, signaling he didn't want to hear another word.

She stomped her feet angrily at the missed opportunity. The door was pushed open as Tianyu entered. she glared at him for interrupting them and stormed out.

"Woah, did I interrupt something?" Tianyu looked at Haoran teasingly.

"I think you did," Haoran raised an eyebrow at his assistant and best friend. "I hope you have something important to say"

"I'm sorry for interrupting you and your Omega's time, but I got an invitation from Mr. Shengli's assistant. He's hosting an event this weekend, and you're invited." Tianyu waved the golden invite.

"I'm not going. You can go in my stead." Haoran wasn't interested in anything social. Most parties were attended by his assistant anyway.

Hearing the reply, Tianyu wasn't surprised, but he was determined to convince him. "But it's important. On my way here, your dad told me to make sure you go. He said it's mandatory."

"How did that old man know I was invited?" Haoran couldn't help but ask, shocked that his father already knew about the invite.

"I don't know either. A few minutes after I got the invitation, the chairman called me and said, 'Haoran must go to that party whether he likes it or not. How can the son of my wife and I be antisocial and lonely?'" Tianyu ended, mimicking the chairman's tone.

"He said it like that?"

"Yes, he did," Tianyu nodded but noticed that Haoran wasn't interested and decided to give up for the meantime. "What's wrong with your lip?"

"These?" Haoran asked, pointing to his lip. He banged his hand on the table in anger. "It's that bastard playboy's fault."

"Zixuan?" Tianyu already knew who it was without asking. Who else other than the playboy "Zixuan" would make his boss this angry?

"Yeah, who else other than him?" Haoran couldn't help but wish Zixuan was right in front of him so he could beat him up over and over again.

"Why do you two always fight?" Tianyu couldn't help but ask, wondering why the two masters never saw each other without clawing at each other's necks.

"Don't ask me. Ask that playboy why he likes to always steal my Omegas."

Tianyu, knowing he shouldn't press further, decided to keep quiet. Then an idea instantly clicked. "I can ask him, since I heard he's attending Shengli's event."

"Zixuan is coming?" Haoran asked.

"Yeah."

"Then tha

t's a reason I must go." *I need to get my revenge on that playboy—make him regret ever meeting me.*
