Returning to the waiting room.
Kris and Asgore slowly let go of their hug, with Asgore giving a few pats on his son's shoulder before facing the doctor.
Now, with the entire Dreemur family staring at him, the doctor suddenly froze nervously for a moment before clearing his throat and starting to speak.
"Well, the results of your son's Quirk analysis are ready."
The whole family went silent, completely focused on what the doctor had to say.
"This kind of thing usually takes longer, but my Quirk allows me to determine the general function in a few steps."
"It looks like some kind of emotional storage emitter... but honestly, I've never seen something quite like it."
"Your son's Quirk appears to cling to positive feelings like confidence or something like that and channel it based on the boy's imagination."
"From what I can tell, the Quirk seems to have been awakened for quite some time."
"Awakened? Sir, our son has never shown anything that could be a Quirk!" Toriel asked in confusion.
"My theory is that the right emotional trigger was missing. Maybe your son has been in a bad place lately."
Mother and father blinked sadly. They couldn't remember their son in any particularly "bad phase," but they also couldn't remember him being in a good one for a long time.
"The Quirk has good potential. The boy, like everyone in this country, dreams of being a hero, right? Having to charge up the Quirk must be annoying, but from what I see, with enough energy, it all depends on imagination!" The doctor seemed almost excited as he spoke.
"In any case, my job here is done. Now the boy just needs to name it, and one of you parents will need to fill out the paperwork." Said the elderly man, returning to a professional tone.
"Normally, the doctor names the Quirk, but since yours depends on your emotions, it would be a shame if I gave it a name you didn't like, so feel free to name it yourself, kid." The man explained kindly.
A little moved, Kris, under the gaze of his parents, who chose to stay silent for the moment, thought for a moment.
Remembering the moment he punched the villain's hand and the persona he had assumed, Kris felt a smile forming on his face.
"It'll be Aura Farming." Said Kris with an absolutely confident smile.
Asgore and Toriel were confused by their son's sudden change, who wasn't used to speaking, but considering he also wasn't used to smiling, both smiled too after a moment.
He smiled, the kind of smile that felt more like a mask than a real feeling. But it was the first step, at least.
"Well, if that's what you want," said the old man, writing it down on a clipboard.
"I also offer Quirk counseling, in case you're interested, so if you ever want support with your son's Quirk, feel free to come back. Now, follow me to fill out the paperwork." Said the man, handing Kris a business card.
Doctor Saru
Shino Saru
Quirk Analyst and Counselor.
XXXX Street, District XX, Musutafu.
(I don't see a point in creating a location.)
While his parents followed the doctor to handle the more complicated parts, Kris decided to reflect a bit on his Quirk and think about what he could do at the moment.
The first step for Kris would be to build up his stock and find a way to measure it.
Limited by my imagination, huh?
How do I feel how much I've stored? I can kind of sense it, but...
I've got something way cooler in mind!
"Status," said the boy, opening that same confident smile.
Kris Dreemur
Constitution: 30 (Well-trained martial artist, still very young.)
Strength: 25 (Calisthenics paid off.)
Mind: 15 (Divorced parents, Quirkless for a long time, Emo.)
Aura: 112 Stored Points
The boy felt excited as his smile widened.
This is so cool! I'm like Sung Jin-Woo!
Thinking that, the boy noticed a change on the imaginary screen:
**Kris Dreemur**
Constitution: 30 *(Well-trained martial artist, still very young.)*
Strength: 25 *(Calisthenics paid off.)*
Mind: 15 *(Divorced parents, Quirkless for a long time, Emo.)*
Aura: 112 → 121 Stored Points
Interesting… how about adding one tiny little feature?
Thinking a bit, a button appeared on the right corner of the status table.
[History]
Thinking of clicking it, the boy saw something like a bank statement — a record of his Aura income and expenses:
Added History button:-10 Aura points.
Created a super cool status table: +9 Aura Points
Created a status table: -5 Aura Points
Defeated the villain with a punch and felt super cool: +110 Aura Points
Kokusen (Jujutsu Kaisen): -90 Aura Points
Saved Noelle from that jerk: +102 Aura Points
Looking at the status table, Kris felt satisfied with all his efforts through the years, and with his Quirk, he thought he could go beyond what he once limited himself to dreaming of.
When he was younger, he wanted to be the Number 1 Hero, but after losing his Quirk, he lowered his expectations to just being a hero. But now?
He decided.
He wouldn't be like any other hero ever seen, and he wouldn't be another All Might either, he'd be the hero with the most Aura ever seen.
He would steal all the Aura from every moment and become the first-ever Aura Farmer Hero.
